Garage Door Openers - garage door remote, 970lm
Click here for more information My OEM Sears unit died- I think the motherboard got cracked, so I thought I would get a small keychain remote instead. This unit works better than the original control. Only thing that would be nice is a colored button for the main button. Works as advertised. I am purchasing another soon to replace the wife's controller, but will get the Liftmaster two button console unit instead so it is larger/easier to push the right button. Make sure you get the right model. Chamberlain 970LM 390MHz Mini Remote(See Tech. Details Below)
I needed a garage door opener that was easier to carry and use while I rode my motorcycle. I was tired of removing my car's opener every time I needed it, and climbing off and back on the bike to operate our keypad was a pain in the you-know-what.
For a very low price, I found this small, lightweight remote that I can carry on my key chain. It was very simple to program with our Craftsmen door opener. (red/orange button models only!) The range is pretty good, too. I stop my bike out on the road to open the door, before riding up the incline of my driveway and never have an issue with the signal. Compared to paying the price of a name brand, full size remote, this is an amazing bargain.
Great little remote. Mounted it with velcro under the flap of my motorcycle seat. Most of the time I can reach down and push the button with enough distance to ride right into the garage without stopping. The only remote we have with more distance capacity is the factory built-in one in the car.
Anyone who rates this item less than five stars is an incompetent, loser, do-nothing-but-complain whiner.
It is so easy to set up an East Oakland zoo chimp could program this in a minute's time with the supplied pictorial instructions.
The main/center button now opens my garage door while the right button controls the garage door light. UBER COOL DUDE!
I ordered this remote to replace the original 3 button (blue buttons)unit that came with the opener.I have the orange "Learn" button and this little gem was no trouble at all. Programmed it in about 5 seconds and it works perfectly. If you have the orange "learn" button on your unit this product is the one to get.
I ordered the Chamberlain 956CB from Amazon (sold and shipped by BigDoorGuy) last weekend, and got my package this weekend, so high marks for the quick service.
What I got, however, was the LiftMaster 970LM.
BDG put on a label on the box -- these two remotes are functional equivalents. We'll see, says I. I opened the box, and a 3-volt CR2032 battery fell out along with a patch of velcro. I didn't really need the velcro, so I put it aside, and took out the remote from its small pocket of bubble wrap. Double checking the instructions, I popped the remote open to insert the battery, et voila! there was a battery already inside the remote!
Who could ask for more -- a pocket-sized, 3-button remote with a spare battery and a little piece of velcro to play with for 14.99 (add 4.99 for s/h)!?!
As for functional equivalency, it's true. This remote synched right up with my orange button Chamberlain Security+ garage door opener, and so far works like a charm. I haven't tried any of the "garage door opener tricks," but, according to the instructions, you can program one button just to open, one button just to close, and the third button just to turn on the light.
But all I really care about is opening and closing the garage door, so I guess I got my money's worth.
This is a handy keychain remote for my garage door. I've done my research with other vendors online and else where in the area where I live. You can't beat the deals with Amazon.com, Amazon has the best prices on just about anything and everything. - 970lm - Garage Door Opener - Chamberlain - Garage Door Remote
