9v Battery - 9v, alkaline batteries

I bought these in August 2009. They had an expiration date of Dec 2009. I ended up discarding half of them because by the time I got around to using them they were essentially dead. They would power a smoke detector for less than a week. Rayovac AL9V-8 UltraPRO Alkaline 9V Batteries, 8-Pack

Pro: The price is right; I haven't found a better deal on 9V batteries

Con: The performance is light. I had these in smoke detectors for about 6-8 months and all went dead within a few weeks of each other.

Bottom Line: If you want a cheap, marginal performance 9V battery, this is the battery for you. I used these in smoke detectors which are wired for power, but require a 9V battery backup -- when the battery is low, the alarm "chirps", and then I replace it. Works fine for this purpose.

If you want long life and performance, you're gonna need to pay more for a better battery.

I have been so disappointed with these batteries. I change my smoke detector batteries every December 31st and never have an issue with them lasting a year but here we are April 12th and I have now replaced 3 with low power, mid you these are devices that have little current draw and should easily last a year. The last battery I took out even allowed some acid to flow out it did not hurt anything but it was trash. So I give these a VERY LOW RATING>

I have been pleased with these so far - they have been used to replace the batteries that came with our smoke detectors when setting up a new system. A little on the expensive side compared to generics, but that is what going brand tends to be.

They're batteries all right. They come in a nice little box and work just as well as any other brands. But for only about $13 for 8? That's an incredible steal. The store down the street sells 9v's for about $5 EACH. Next time I need 9v batteries I will just buy another pack of these. Or perhaps several packs.

These 9V Rayovac batteries work just fine for me. I haven't had any problems with them dying prematurely. I've bought other Rayovac batteries and have always had good luck with them. If I have problems down the line, I'll come back to update.

Otherwise, love the plastic pack they come in. They are neat and easy to store. I don't have to worry about the batteries falling out or some unsightly package. It's the little things that make life easier. - 9v - Alkaline Batteries - Duracell - Energizer

Trigonometry - ti-85, calculator

This calculator got me through two years of advanced high school math, two and a half years of college calculus, and general use almost every day at work as an engineer/scientist. It is my calculator of choice for EVERYTHING from simple arithmetic to graphing complex equations, to solving integrals and differential equations. The battery life has been phenomenal -- I maybe change them out once a year, if that. I have used it almost every day for 15 straight years. Contains some very powerful features and functions for almost any math need you can throw at it. You can purchase a used TI-85 for not much money these days as well. True, it may not be as easy to use as the TI-83, but I would never give up my TI-85 for anything. Texas Instruments TI-85 Graphing Calculator

I first bought mine in high school in 1996 and it's still going strong to this day. This is a great calculator and it has all the functions necessary to carry you through high school and college match classes (and beyond). If yours doesn't arrive with a manual, it is available online at the following link: [...]

I've owned and used the same TI-85 since 1998. Its been a good friend during math tests. I can' attest to how difficult it is to navigate compared to some of the newer models, but its not hard to figure out. Also it will convert decimals to fractions, though it takes more than just pressing one button. I'm not sure about the tables, though I seem to remember doing something with that in High School. Over all I think this a great calculator and if you have patience to learn all it can do, you will be more than happy with it.

I purchased the TI-85 hoping to save some money. Unfortunately, the TI-85 is much less user-friendly than the more popular TI-83. Graphing is trickier, and if there's a way to bring up a table view instead of a graph view, I still haven't found it (I bought mine used so I didn't get a manual). Also, the calculator does not have a key to convert decimals to fractions. If you just need to use this as a basic scientific calculator, then it will get the job done for you. If you need to do more complex math and graphs, save up some extra money and buy a TI-83.

I've been using this calculator since 1993 with no problems whatsoever. It got me through an engineering degree back then and another more recently (just finished). During this second degree, I purchased a TI-89 and did not like it at all. While it does a lot of things that the 85 doesn't, I found it less intuitive to use for what I need. It does so much that it can be difficult to find the things you need to do.

The 85 handles complex numbers and simultaneous equations with ease, as well as definite integrals. For indefinite integrals and symbolic math, you may need a newer model.

you really should get a ti-82 they are better and the graphing functions are easier to use i got one at a garage sale for 4.00 and i think that it was reasonable but not for the price that amazon chares, unreal - Ti-85 - Calculator - Texas Instruments - Graphing

Panasonic Lumix - digital camera, point and shoot

I am not a camera or photography aficionado, so I cannot offer a super technical review -- of which the electronics section here on Amazon is replete with -- however what I can say, from a layman's perspective, is that this camera is unimaginably magnificent.

I got this camera for my birthday and I simply wanted a camera that would provide a good, high-quality and affordable upgrade to my six megapixel Samsung camera that I bought three years ago - also for my birthday. Without even a modicum of hesitation, I can proudly say that this Panasonic camera more than exceeded my expectations.

The 14 MP camera takes clear and crisp photographs and has a smorgasbord of different settings to make the pictures you take precisely how you want it. You can adjust your camera setting before you snap your picture, and you can also conveniently edit it after you take your picture. So you can never really take bad pictures. I find the settings to be really great.

I also wanted a camera that would be good for action pictures. Often times, on my previous camera, I would take moving photographs and the pictures would come out blurry and you can tell that it was taken in motion. In contrast, this camera is wholly different. I tested out several moving pictures and the camera adroitly captures the moment I want captured beautifully, without any kind of visible motion blurriness.

However, I leave the best aspect of this camera till last: the unthinkably great HD video capture. When buying a camera I wanted something that could capture HD videos so I can record different moments in film and store them, and perhaps something that would be good for YouTube videos: I found it. This video camera records gloriously crisp and colorful 720p HD. As good as the quality of the photo camera itself is, I think the video capture function is remarkably better. You simply just cannot fault it.

I have never really been a Panasonic person. I know their stuff is purportedly of good quality and durable, but I have just never bought a product other than batteries. However, after buying this magnificent camera, I think I'll be investing in a lot more Panasonic products.

I went in with pretty low expectations, and came out thoroughly impressed.

Needless to say, I have been taking a whole lot of pictures on this thing.

By the way, for the record, I haven't yet read the instruction manual, yet I have no problem operating the camera. I think that speaks wonders of its ease of use. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FP3 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch Touch-Screen LCD (Black)

I love this camera mostly because of its size, most other cameras of the same size don't take as nice pictures. Its super easy to carry around so you'll end up taking more pictures because you won't mind having it with you all the time. The Intelligent Auto works pretty well and it has face and scene detection which is great, along with really good image stabilization. Battery life on this thing is great too, You can take about 800-1000 pictures with this thing before you have to charge the battery.

My only con is the low-light capability, its pretty poor. Outdoor or indoors with adequate lighting makes for some excellent pictures, but in low light the pictures come out pretty grainy. And the flash on this camera is rather weak so that doesn't help much either. You can raise the ISO up and it has a High Sensitivity scene mode as well to try to help make the picture come out, but only adds to the grain. Now this is expected in such a compact camera so I'm not docking because of it, but its definitely worth noting if you're looking to take a lot of low-light pictures.

Overall this is a great buy, certainly not gonna take the same quality pics as its big brothers but if you want a simple, good quality compact then this is your camera.

This is a really good camera for a really good price. I was quite pleased with the quality of the photos and the overall look.

The touchscreen feature sometimes doesn't quite work as expected, but with patience it gets the job done.

The 14.1 MP resolution results in great pictures, but the functions are still a little complicated for me... There are many different combinations that can be used which becomes a little too much.

I highly recomend this camera. However, if you have issues with a touchscreen, this camera might not be the one for you, as the touchscreen on it sometimes doesn't respond.

I am really pleased with my purchase.

i`m fairly happy with my purshase, the camera has a really nice small size that lets me carry it in my pocket without any nonesense (its smaller than my wallet). Takes good pictures and great HD video quality even when shooting small detail things like necklaces for example. The inteligent mode does a great job recognizing the scene and its a very simple camera easy to work.

The major failure I`ve come to notice is that in playback function upon zooming and scrolling the picture the touch panel does a lousy job and its function becomes rubish. Other than that the combination touch panel- real buttons do a great job.

I would recomend this camera specially for the price, but advice to look around for better options if touch panel isnt your thing or u can manage with a camera bit larger and not so stylish. - Digital Camera - Point And Shoot - Lumix - Leica Lens

Samsung 3D TVs to include two pairs of glasses

Just now Samsung announced that beginning April 24, two pairs of its support 2011 3D glasses, model SSG-3100GB, would be included with every Samsung 2011 3D TVs free of charge.

Previous to this news, none of its TVs aside from the high-end UND8000 series included the glasses necessary to view 3D TV pictures. The company has also reduced the price of additional sets of 3100GB glasses from $129 list to $50 each, useful May 1.

Samsung 's glasses are powered, active-shutter models, which usage Bluetooth to synch with the TV as opposed to the Infrared synching used by the 2010 versions. These new glasses are clashing with Samsung 's 2010 3D TVs.

In our tests the Bluetooth sync works well, and overall 3D performance has improved compared to last year on the model we tested. In our previous early tests we prefer the picture quality of active 3D to passive overall.

Samsung 's move is a pretty obvious response to the inclusion of four pairs of passive, unpowered 3D glasses with models like the Vizio XVT3D650SV and LG LW5600 series - the later just started shipping in communication with a major advertising campaign. Additional pairs of passive polarized glasses fee as little as $5 or less online, and work with any passive 3D TV.

We expect similar pricing moves by companies like Panasonic and Sony, which like Samsung focus exclusively on active 3D. It 's worth noting that no TV maker 's active 3D glasses are compatible with any other 's, so you can 't use those cheap Samsung glasses with your Panasonic plasma.

"Customers purchasing the D7000 and upper 3D LED TVs or the D6500 and uppermost 3D Plasma TVs will last to get Samsung 's 3D Starter Kit (SSG-3100M). The kit includes two pairs of 3D active glasses, promotional versions of... complete Shrek collection on 3D Blu-ray and a voucher for Megamind 3D on Blu-ray. Customers already receiving this starter kit with a step-up TV model will not be eligible for the latest promotion."

I was super happy with the x-lg sweeper until it became so hard to find the refill cloths. Indoor pets make this sweeper necessary. When one lives in a rural area, they just are not available. I hope Proctor & Gamble reads all these rating reviews. Please, please get the x-lg refills in stores again. Swiffer Sweeper, Dry Sweeping Cloths, X-Large 16 ea

This item seems to never be available in retail stores even though they advertise them as in stock. Amazon to the rescue...this is a great product because of it's larger size. The little dinky 10" cloths are a waste of time when you have large areas of wood floors to dust. The marketing people at Swifter are asleep at the switch and missing a great opportunity by not promoting and forcing their retail outlets to carry the product.

I love the Swiffer "Max" (which has apparently been renamed "Swiffer XL". I am a tall person, and my husband and children are tall. Not only does the larger cleaning surface on this swiffer do a better job, the handle is longer and more comfortable for us tall people! Please, give us a break and continue to provide the refill pads!!!!

I have been using the Swiffer-Max for years. Unfortunately the local supply of refills seems to be no more as I can no longer find the refills in any of my local stores or supermarkets. I have a feeling that they have been discontinued. However, the ones I bought here on line are exactly the real deal. Great product, love the larger size. Hopefully they will remain available. - Swiffer Dry Mop

Usb Power Adapter - usb power, usb adapter

I bought a couple of these for charging my Droid X and a Bluetooth headset at the same time. The phone's performance would drop dramatically while it was connected to this charger. So I grabbed my multimeter to check the charger's output. The +5VDC pin was putting out 5.15 volts which is well inside the 4.75-5.25 USB scecification so no trouble there. I noticed that they did have intact data pins so I checked them. Both of the data pins produced +2.54 V on both of the chargers I received. Different devices will deal with this voltage in different ways, but had I known I would never have plugged my phone into it. Too damn risky.

This is clearly a design flaw and an incredibly simple one at that, all they need to do is not hookup the data pins.

I wouldn't recommend these, but after disabling the data pins I am now using mine. AC to Dual Port USB Wall Charger

Product seems well made and appeared new on arrival. Item was purchased with the hopes of being able to charge 2 iPhone 4s at one time. As soon as the phone was attached it started to give a non-compatible accessory warning. Not sure if it is a voltage regulation issue or what. Seems like a good product, just can't use it for the iPhone 4.

I bought this item so I could charge my 3rd Gen iPod touch without having to plug it into my laptop or having to spend $30 on a genuine Apple one. I am happy with this one..it's cheap and it works...I really don't care about using namebrand stuff as long as the generic stuff works. I have no problems with compatibility with my iPod. I do not own an iPhone or an iPad so I cannot rate its compatibility with those items. Botton line...if you're looking for an inexpensive option to charge your iPod..go with this!

I bought 4 of these things to charge my Android and iPad at work and home and elsewhere. It won't charge the iPad! Android charges, but the iPad doesn't work. Very aggravating... I read another post stating iphone compatibility doesn't work as well. Also, they're rather large and bulky, kill a spot on my power strip.

I got this charger to charge my wife's and my phone at the same time so we didn't have to take to chargers when traveling. The charger does it's job but it's a little big. It takes up a lot of space in the surge protector barely leaving space for any other plugs. That also means that it's not the most compact device to travel with. That said, I'm satisfied with the quality and functionality of the product.

Alliteration aside, the title says it all.

When I first ordered the charger it never arrived (they seemed to hint at the fact that the address was the problem despite the fact that I have used the 'exact' same address for many deliveries). After filing a complaint they contacted me in a pretty prompt manner (one point in their favor at least) and asked for a 'valid' address which I gave them.

When I 'finally' got the charger, the SECOND time I tried to use it it started making poping sounds like a spark might jump from it at any minute, the power indicator light blinking on and off and finally going off! At this point after a lot of wiggling and plugging-unplugging-plugging BS it 'might' work but either way I'm pissed and disappointed and frankly I don't care to work with them any more to try and get a replacement. The cost isn't worth it anyway. I won't be buying from them again. :(

It charges my Droid and Zune HD but reduces the responsiveness of both devices. Causes my Droid to lag and does not allow any interaction with the Zune while plugged into the charger. I guess I should have just bought a dual charger that would have been more reliable. - Usb - Usb Adapter - Usb Power - Charger

Video Camera Security System - security camera, video camera security system

Bought 5 of these to put up around the house. Looks realistic enough to fool most people. However, not sure what effect it will have in darkness, since it doesn't have a blinking red light. I initially opted to get these because those with blinking lights required frequent changing of batteries & the areas that these were to be mounted presented a problem when changing batteries. I gave it only 3 stars because of poor design by the manufacturer. An electrical wire is mounted on the back of the camera but you have to use your imagination to determine what to do with it. I decided to drill a small hole into the plastic mounting base, stick the wire through that hole, tie a knot on the open end so one couldn't pull it back out of the hole & then mounted it onto the wall. Perhaps the manufacturer could have pre-drilled a hole or even supplied an instructional sheet with suggestions on mounting & placement of this wire to make it look realistic, even to the trained eye. VideoSecu Outdoor Indoor Imitation Security Camera Fake IR Style Dummy CCTV Camera 1RE

I also bought 3 of these to cover my carport/porch and driveway. They look very realistic. My only suggestion for improvement is something that draws attention to the camera, such as motion activated sound, movement or light. This would require changing batteries, so it's really a trade-off. But, without drawing attention to itself, the camera relies on an intruder seeing it. So, I also bought some signs and stickers.

The other reviewer's comments about hanging it from the ceiling are unfounded. The "camera" housing has mounting holes on top and bottom, so you can choose to mount it standing up or hanging down.

I bought three of these as I needed a dummy cammera for my eaves in the back and front and for the porch ceiling.

If you notice most of the others are meant to be wall or counter mounted. I bought two of the SVAT ISC200 and they can not be ceiling mounted despite the ad saying they can. Sure you can hang them upside down so that the housing that is supposed to protect from the rain is now on the bottom and this makes them look cheesy and fake. I ended up mounting the SVATs on the wall in the garage and using these 3 on the 3 uses above. They look real and for 9.99 each can't beat it. I was wishing that they had a blinking light but later thought about it. Would I really want to climb a ladder to change batteries for the under the eave installations? No so the lack of a red light is fine also. Most burglars are not going to notice a lack of a blinking light on an outdoor camera and even if they do not every camera has a blinking red light.

These "fake" cams are identical in appearance to this company's real cams. No kidding. Check it out yourself - they sell both the real and fake ones here on Amazon.

I honestly think these cams look fake, but if they are identical to the real ones in every aspect of their appearance...well, I gotta give 'em five stars. Afterall, you buy fake ones that you hope look like real ones. That job is accomplished here.

Before you make a decision based on how some of these other "reviewers" are saying "these things look so fake that they wouldn't fool a child" you really ought to look here: [...]

Or Amazon search this if that link does not work: VideoSecu Night Vision Security Camera, with Built in Microphone

Identical! Mix the fakes in with the real ones and no one will ever know which ones are which.

Good quality for the price! It is plastic, and not exactly bullet-proof, but from a couple feet away looks plenty real. I like the loose cord attached to the camera, so you can run it underneath the trim of your house (or anything else) to look like a true hard-wired camera. Mounted easily and can be mounted in almost any position. - Home Security - Video Camera Security System - Security Camera - Infrared Camera
