I recently purchased this item after much researching and reading reviews of other similiar products. I was desperate for portable Dvd players for my sons (ages 3 1/2 and 7) for our long ride on vacation.

These are great! They were VERY easy to hook up. The actual screens fit very well around the headrests and were perfect for viewing by my sons. My oldest son (age 7) was able to work the entire thing independently including changing dvds. Volume and picture are great. Each screen has individual volume and brightness controls. I love the fact that after turning off/on the car, the dvd starts where you left off. That is a nice feature that alot of other players do not have. Great product and exactly what we were looking for!

I bought these to entertain my 2 year old twins on longer trips. I have had them for a couple of months now and I really can't complain. They have a good picture quality and can be connected to a TV (which was great when we were on vacation). It is true they only work when plugged in. There is no stored battery, but that has not been an issue for me. My only wish is that it came with a remote. It is impossible to restart a movie while I am driving. They were worth the $119 I spent. (Best Buy on sale)

We got this for long car rides and have used it 4 times so far...kids love it! Easy to set up and use, good picture, ok sound (have to set both screens volume at high for highway travel). Power cords are long enough to reach from front car outlet to 2nd row headrest for the kids in the 3rd row. Velcro straps connect screens to headrests easily and securely.



READ THE OWNERS MANUAL: Many reviews I read before buying this complained about the 2nd screen not working right from the start and I wonder if they read in the manual were it says DO NOT connect the second screen to the 1st while the 1st is on, turn both screens off before connecting.



Overall we are very happy with this product and recommend it.

These worked great for our 38 hour drive each way. With two screens, we didn't have to find just one place to put a single screen and have all the kids be able to see it. The cords were long enough, though some vans may be too spread out (we have a car plug in the back of our van between the two seats). Sound from the unit is loud enough, and of decent quality. The only complaint is that there is no internal battery, so the player must be plugged in to work. It does come with a car plug as well as a/c, though.

I bought this before taking 14 hour drive with my 4 children and without my husband. We plugged it in and it worked great the first time. The kids were thrilled. Unfortunately every time we used it after this either the second screen didn't work or there was a loud buzzing or the screen was fuzzy. I tried rearranging the cords, changing positions but nothing seemed to help. I ended up returning it and am disappointed that it wasn't more reliable.

Installing this DVD player was a breeze, works exactly as advertised. As other reviewers have mentioned, the best feature is that it starts where you left off. Other than that, the features overall are great, screen resolution is good, no issues really. Very nice item, would highly recommend!

We bought these for our twins to watch on a long drive when we moved. At first they were great but then 4 weeks later the 2nd one stopped working. Amazon replaced it, 5 weeks later those stopped working. Here I am returning a THIRD set and I dont want another one. I will be looking for a new brand to buy.

I bought the dual screen player a week before a trip for my 6 year old and 2 year old. They worked very well and I would recommend that you get headphones if your children will wear them. The dual volume controls are nice and the straps work pretty well. If your headrests are tapered on the sides it can be a little challenging when attaching but we made it work. I would recommend this system.

These DVD players are awesome - not only for their function, but for how handy they were to install. The second screen is great for the friend that may accompany my infant. They are easy to work and I have them hanging on the back seat headrest of our SUV for the rear facing carseat. The only complaint I have it that it is only powered by a powersouce, not with battery or batteries for outside the vehicle. But, I purchased for the single reason of car trips since our infant seems to get very impatient after 20 min of riding. Great price for the high quality that they are. I would reccommend these for children or adults!

This one does just that. It seems accurate to me. Good dial size since my vision isn't great. It isn't tiny so if you are a large guy you will feel comfortable on it. Thinner Scale by Conair TH100 Extra Large Dial Analog Precision Scale, Black and Silver

This is the way products used to be. No flash. No complication. Same result every time. Sensitive to a pound or two difference. Performance not critical to position on platform. Temperature differences require a minor centering of the needle before weighing, using a small wheel at the base of the scale. Checked within a couple of tenths of a pound with an accurate digital scale I have. Solid product. Unbelievable price. I considered it accurate enough to use for weight and balance calculations on my homebuilt airplane.

I am a fitness nut, hit the gym 5 to 6 times a week and watch what I eat and monitor my weight. I have had more expensive scales. However, this scale IS accurate and consistent so I am surprised at some comments saying otherwise. I am pleased, for the price you can't beat this scale, seriously. I am updating this review, have had this scale for over a year. STILL right on target regarding being consistent and accurate. A very good investment for my health, works like a charm.

This is a basic and attractive bathroom scale. I have another scale that is upside down in my bathroom. "Why is it upside down?" you ask. Because it doesn't work, and I've been trying to troubleshoot why it's not working. It has all the bells and whistles, fat monitor and digital readout, but unfortunately it is impossible to get to work and it requires batteries.



That's why I am so pleased with this scale. I simply step on it and it tells me what I weigh. I am not sure if it's precise down to the nth digit. It's difficult to read down to the pound because of the small iterations between the pound marks. I am just looking at my weight to see if I am up or down a couple of pounds, and this scale does precisely that. Plus, it's really nice looking. 4 stars for looks and ease of use. Minus 1 star for not knowing your weight down to the nth level.

Very reliable and sturdy product. I always prefer analog read out over digital; I don't have to worry about replacing batteries. A unique feature is: the scale platform is wide enough to weigh your luggage before you arrive at the airport.



I definitely highly recommend this product as a FIVE STAR.

I am disappointed with my new scale. It is difficult to set the needle to zero, it wants to go to one side or the other, it has to be reset after each use, and worse, it is reading 10 pounds light. I would not recommend it to any other buyer.

I had not owned a weighing scale for a long time. Not so long ago I stepped on a 280 lb scale in a store, and was rather surpised at where the needle ended up, and that was an analog with the needle not set correctly at zero.



So I decided to lose weight, and buy a scale to monitor my progress. I decided not to go digital but analog, and bought this particular scale in a department store. When I checked later the Amazon price was $10 cheaper.



I love this scale. It's strong and sturdy, and wide enough that you can stand comfortably. The clock face is big enough to read clearly, and the weight goes all the way up to 340. The pinwheel for adjusting to zero is big enough that you can use your big toe to adjust it if you so choose.



I bought this scale because it reminded me of the one in the gym from years ago, it's very similar to the Salter 200 Academy Professional Mechanical Scale, White and Gray in look and design although that one is much more expensive.



I have lost about 11 pounds in two months, and satisfied with its level of accuracy.

So, if you cannot wait to lose weight any longer, and you want to go old school go ahead and get it.

Maybe I got a lemom but I tried this scale for a week, weighing on a Dr's scale and other scales. This Conair scale was always from 5 to 8 pound too light. Makes you feel good but not accurate! Click here for more information I have had this TV for only a few days, but it appears to be exactly what I wanted. The LK520 LG model is very similar to the earlier model LD520 (highly rated), except that the dynamic contrast is apparently a bit better for the LK520(150K to 1 vs 100K), but I suspect that may not be that significant.



INPUT-OUTPUT

It has sufficient inputs (HDMI, component, etc), and outputs, although I still wish these new HDTVs had a regular stereo output (ie., 2 RF outputs) so I could use them with my old amplifier. The LK520 only has 1 optical digital audio output. However, the sound from the LK520 speakers is surprisingly robust, although most will probably want more to complete the home theater experience. The LK520 also has a USB port, but I have not used this yet. The specs say you can connect your external USB devices for JPEG photos or MP3 files. (Note, this model does NOT have any internet connection capabilities--however you could hook this up to a BluRay DVD player that has this capability, if you want it).



I hooked up my cable box via an HDMI cord, and the LK520 provides a clear HD picture and does well with regular SD channels also. I hooked up the TV with component inputs from my oldish DVD player, and it looked very good. (Some day I will get a BluRay, so I can see more pores, I guess, on close ups...).



FEATURES

The LK520 has 120 Hz, so if you watch a lot of sports, this might be important (I don't). So maybe the 60 Hz LG LK450 might be OK for you, and save you 60-80$. However, note that the LK520 has a slightly higher dynamic contrast compared to the 60 Hz 42 inch LG LK450 (150K vs 100K).



The weight is only about 35 lbs, so it is relatively easy (if a bit awkward) to carry around. Also, the screen does not seem to have any serious reflection problems in stronger lighting situations.



The TV picture can be adjusted to your preferences, but I found the default settings good enough for me. It is Energy Star rated, which is good, but I found the "intelligent sensor" adjustments a bit too dark for me. However, you can adjust this as your wish.



SUMMARY: I don't think you can go wrong with this excellent LG HDTV. I would rate it at 4.5 stars. Some minor limitations on audio output and the somewhat high price that I paid at a big box store (BB) made me give it a 4 instead of 5.



I may update this if I find any problems later.... LG 42LK520 42-Inch 1080p LCD TV - Black

This LG 42LK520 is replacing my well-loved Toshiba CRT tv (which, to my dismay, refused to age or give any sign it was ready to quit and justify my purchase), so I can't claim great sophistication when it comes to comparing modern, flat-panel TVs.



Having said that, I couldn't be happier with this LG. The image is crisp and true. The color saturation on the default setting is perhaps a touch brighter than life - which I'm sure can be manipulated easily, but I rather like seeing the world with bright green grass and impossibly blue sky, so I haven't bothered. The trumotion works well and so far I have seen no after-image or blur. The sound quality is good, but not great, but it matters little to me as I run it through my fairly old home theatre system which makes the whole experience quite wonderful. I even like the subtle light that glows on the lower right corner and turns from red to blue when you turn the tv on - totally unrelated to the tv's performance, but it's just cool and makes the tv look expensive. I am enjoying this TV tremendously, and sometimes will turn it on just to look at how nice the picture is.



For about $650 with free shipping, how could I not be happy? Shipping was impressively quick. Set up was relatively easy, though the installation manual is so simple as to be relatively useless. Incidentally, if you're hooking it up to your satellite receiver, you have to press "input" on your remote and then select "HDMI" - the instruction manual doesn't tell you this.



None of the minor weaknesses (like the sound - which isn't bad, it just didn't blow me away) are signficant enough to drop it out of five-star range. At this price point this TV provides incredible value. I really could not be happier with this purchase.

I had spent about 6 weeks researching the various LCD TVs on the market. Granted there are several high end units out there with high end prices. Having purchased the LG 37LD450 about 7 months ago, I wanted another LG. It was coincidence that the LG 42LK520 was a brand new model, just released in March/11. With no previous reviews, I took a chance that this unit would be equal to, or surpass the previous model. I am pleased to state that this LG model has surpassed all my expectations. Well done LG

This is the first LCD TV I have purchased. Until now I had CRT TVs. After a long time, I narrowed the choices to LG, Samsung, and Sharp. I decided on the LG 42LK520 due to various reviews and the price I found on Amazon. We have been using this TV for three days only, so our experience is limited, but I am pretty happy with the purchase.



First, delivery was very fast. I chose the free Super Saver shipping option (5-8 business days), but the TV was delivered in 3 days.



The picture quality is great. Watching Blu-Ray and DVD movies through an HDMI cable on this LG TV is nothing short of amazing. Since we had CRT TVs, we had no need for HDTV channels. However, we may have to upgrade our cable TV service to the HD package. The quality of the movies might be spoiling us a bit.



Sound quality is OK. To get the full movie experience an external speaker system is needed, but the built-in speakers do an adequate job.



The only negative with this TV is the stand. The stand comes in two parts. The base unit is plastic with a metal core. The second part is an adapter that mounts to the TV and the base unit. This second part is plastic. When assembled, the stand is not very sturdy. The TV wobbles rather easily. Because of this, I am mounting the TV to the wall. This was not my original plan, but I don't feel comfortable with the TV on the stand.



I would rate this TV 5 stars if the stand was more robust. However, I would recommend this TV to anyone. - 1080p Lcd Hdtv - 47 Inch

The technology works! Using a Sprint Air card I was able to keep tuned into my TV while driving in the country. This is probably the worst case scenario for remote reception. I was only getting about 100K download speed with occasional dropouts. No other streamer that I have tested would work under these conditions.



I was running 320-240 res under these conditions. With faster more stable connection you can run higher.



At home on my home network I run 640x480 resolution with a maximum stream rate of 6000Kbps with Near CD quality Audio.



It works! It works! It Works!!





The Bad

This box did not come with a software CD or SVid cable. So I had to dig one up. I had the player software from SlingBox AV that I had tested. In any case you will need to download the latest software from the SlingMedia website. I had to dig up an aditional Svid cable.





The Ugly

---------

Couple things that I realy hate about the SlingBox technology.



-Max Res 640x480 res



-Only one connection allowed at a time. If you try to connect and someone else is watching the slingbox you will get a Buisy indication. Thats why it is called a Personal TV Viewer.



-No Recording Option available. There are some third party venders offering this at a cost of $49.



-Mobile Player software is not free. You must pay $29 for wach mobile device you want to install the player software on.





Final Thoughts

All this said, I still love the SlingBox. I had originaly purchased the Slingbox AV but found its connection options limited with out a pass through connection. I now have two devices set up. Dish Sat box and Panasonic E55 DVD recorder/player. I can remotely change the channel and start my recorder from anywhere in the world that I have an internet connection.



BTW this box retails for $179 and I picked mine up for $159. Thats only $30 more than I paid for the AV. Sling Media Slingbox SOLO (SB260-100)

first - AMAZON IS AMAZING. when slingmedia would not help me, amazon totally stepped up and took care of a problem for me that they did not need to. thanks amazon and i didn't know you could make me a bigger fan than i already was but you have.



second - i have had the same problem with slingbox solo that other one star reviewers have had. i too just had my unit for under a year and was still under warranty but like others, technical support gave me a total run around and would not give me an RMA and my options were to pay for a tech support consult or buy an extended warranty... but wtf, i was STILL UNDER WARRANTY - why would i want to purchase an EXTENDED WARRANTY when i'm still under warranty now when the unit has failed?!



these are bad, disingenuous and sneaky people who want to nickel and dime you for every little thing. they don't care about customer satisfaction or their own commitments and you will notice that their culture is one that is absolutely closed and stonewalled.



in every way that amazon shines for their dedication to their customers, slingbox radiates bad faith.



this technology is not worthy of these guys and it is my fondest wish that they fail so that someone bigger, better and more committed to their customers becomes the standard bearer.



i loved my slingbox and i loved the technology. they had a die hard fan in me. but with one phone call to a tech support person far more concerned with selling an extended warranty for a product that was already under warranty when it failed... man, they have earned my enmity.



as for a recommendation, it's a tough call - if it works and never fails, it's great. but if you need to have ANY kind of backup from slingmedia, you are completely out of luck.

I have heard the Slingbox advertised for several years and have often wondered what the appeal was--with other technologies like tv tuner cards and portable media players, I never saw the point. Recently, however, I purchased a 3.5G smartphone and found there was Slingbox client software available for it. The idea of watching television anywhere from my phone [with an unlimited data plan] intrigued me enough to make the relatively minor investment in a Slingbox.



After trying it, I can only say it is incredible. Having a device in my pocket that can receive television is amazing, and the fact that it is not some choppy over-the-air signal but a beautifully clear signal with access to an entire cable tv feed, on demand services, program guides, and recorded programs is mind-blowing. Even from a laptop or other client, having access to all the channels and features you normally have in your living room, no matter where you are, makes the Slingbox much more powerful than a simple tuner card. For those so motivated, it is also possible to spy on what your kids are watching when you're not home (or annoy them by changing the channel).



I purchased the Slingbox SOLO because of the built-in high-definition component input. Because I was eager to set-up the box, I initially connected it with a simple composite connection--later, I dug-out an RGB component cable and connected it that way instead, but found with the lower resolution and compression artifacts introduced by the Slingbox I didn't notice a significant difference and ended-up switching back just to eliminate some cables and to take advantage of the cable-box's ability to convert everything to the same aspect ratio to avoid having to switch the client. The video quality looks perfect on the cell phone [although I don't think anything less than 3.5G service would work well] but from a PC or laptop, the picture quality is similar to a high quality standard-definition tuner card, even when viewing a high-definition source.



Setting-up the Slingbox was absolutely simple and almost completely automatic; it does require a pc on the same network. The box was detected and video was working as soon as set-up started. A huge variety of equipment is supported, with pc client software displaying a remote that looks almost identical to the actual equipment remote. I was excited to receive this book light for my Kindle. However, when I attempted to turn the light off it would not shut off. Apparently I have a malfunctioning light where I have to remove a battery in order for the light to turn off. This is quite an inconvenience. I should have returned it but did not want to go through the hassle of doing so..The light works great for the Kindle and is easy to maneuver..

This is a useless light. The cover does not even fit back on after the batteries are in it. It is big, clumsy, and there is nothing on it that signifies

Sony. I have to tape the batteries in to use it. A total waste of money.

Even though it is so cheap it is not worth the money. It will not clip on in a way that will not inhibit the use of screen. I am super disappointed, but since it would cost the same amount to return as the amount I would get back I am basically screwed.

Mine had glue all over it right out of the packaging. I wish I took a picture of it before I scraped it all off. This thing is not worth the money. It is badly built and very cheap. The head of it with the two LEDs in it swivels loosely. This is something you would buy at a dollar store not for 9 bucks. What a rip off.

I just got mine and have no problem with it. It is alot brighter then the other ones Ive tried and am very happy I got it. I just ordered two more and they arrived today earlier then I expected and real happy with them. Thanks

I love my kindle and thought this would be the ideal accessory for later in the day reading. I'm not sure where to clip it. The light isn't very bright and if you don't hold it by hand casts a glare that is distracting. When you adjust the neck that holds the light head, it doesn't stay in place. I've tried Costco photo paper (returned it) and HP photo glossy (It's OK, but doesn't seem to give the same depth.)



Canon papers have always treated me well and I'm sticking with them! Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, 4 x 6 Inches, 100 Sheets (2311B023)

This paper produces nice photos. It's inexpensive but doesn't look or feel cheap, like some other brands I've tried. Other inexpensive paper tends to roll up around the corners, but not this paper. I use this paper with my Canon Pixma3500. The paper produces prints that look and feel like photo lab quality prints. I highly recommend this product for people with Canon printers.

I found this Canon photo copy paper consistently delivering amazing copies of my pictures. The actual paper has a little more gloss than standard glossy photo paper. The thickness of the paper is ideal for keeping your photos for years to come. I highly recommend this paper, and it's competitively priced.

This paper works very well for my photo printing needs. I've used it with my Canon PIXMA MX860 Wireless All-In-One Photo Printer, and I'm very happy with it. A few sample sheets of this kind came with my Pixma and I was impressed enough by the results to order more. I've also tried the slightly less expensive normal glossy paper, which I'm also very happy with. This "super glossy" paper is a bit more glossy, and sometimes I prefer that.



One thing I really appreciate about this paper is that while one side is glossy, the other is basically like card stock, so you can write notes on the back of photos, or you can fold your photos to use them as cards. This is good quality paper, for a very good price. I'm very happy with this, in the 4 x 6 and other sizes. It covers all of my home photo printing needs.

What can I say? Canon makes great products for photography in my book. I have a Canon camera, printer, etc. I would use no other paper than my Canon. The picture quality turns out great. Also my children have had pictures stuck on bulletin boards, laying/sitting around in the rooms, etc., for 8 years and not one picture has faded not even a little bit. Use this paper and your pictures turn out much better than if you take them some place else for developing.

I LOVE this Canon photo paper!! It's affordable, and it prints clear, high quality prints at home! I have a Canon MP610 inkjet printer, and I have had tons of fun printing and scrapbooking my life's special moments. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is interested in scrapbooking, or for those who would just like to print and keep for their photo memories...

this is the only glossy paper I've seen that is perfect for notecards, since the inside is a clean matte finish, without any photo "logo."



It's not a heavy weight paper, but really is just fine for making glossy photo cards which fold over - and the image quality is great.

I have two Canon printers, including an i9900 photo printer. There is no comparison. Canon photo paper makes the best quality prints. Much better than using generic paper. The colors are more vivid and they seem to be more accurate than when I used a generic paper brand.

Click here for more information I just KNEW this product was out there somewhere! I kept thinking, "Surely I'm not the only person who has hundreds of photos to scan and can't afford to take weeks to do it!" I kept looking, reading reviews, and looking some more. There was no way I was going to take 5 minutes - or even 2 minutes - per picture, previewing, scanning, cropping, adjusting. All I wanted to do was get decent, quick scans from old photos, good enough to post on Facebook. This little gem turned out to be perfect for what I needed.



PROS: This model will handle up to 8.5 by 11 inch photos. There is an adjustable guide to help you feed pictures into the slot, but I found I didn't really even need to use it as long as I positioned the photo up against the left edge of the scan path.



Scans are very quick. At the default setting, a 4x6 photo takes approx. 20 seconds to scan and save. Everything is automatic. You put a picture in the slot. The scanner feeds it through - fast! When the light stops blinking, you scan another. I sat there watching TV, feeding one shot after another through the unit without a hitch.



One of the best features is that you don't have to be connected to a computer. If you're not connected via the USB cord, photos are automatically saved on the SD card. (The unit comes with a 1GB card, which hold hundreds of photos. HINT: After you install the scanning software from the SD card during setup, you can delete the scan software from the SD card. You'll free up lots of room for more photos. Just be sure to save a copy of the software somewhere, because I could not find a way to download it from the manufacturer's Web site.) You could take this unit to your family reunion, sit at a table with the relatives, and scan in photo after photo. When you get home, you can transfer the photos to your computer, or just pop the SD card into your digital photo frame. (I scanned about 350 photos and had them uploaded and posted to Facebook photo albums in about 3 hours.) Of course, if you'd prefer to connect and scan directly to your computer via USB cable (included), that is easy to do as well.



CONS: You have very little control over the scan settings. You choose either 300 dpi (dots per inch) or 600 dpi. (300 dpi is fine for posting photos online.)



You have no control over how the photo files are named when they are saved on the SD card or on your computer. (They are just numbered sequentially.)



You will need another software program if you need to manipulate the images after scanning (cropping, adjusting colors and brightness, etc.) The software that comes with the scanner does not have any editing functions. I recommend IRFANVIEW, a superb freeware photo editing program [...]

It would have been really nice if the unit could have operated on batteries. Then you would not even have needed to use the power cord (included)! Maybe next model...



BOTTOM LINE: If you need museum-quality scans for posterity or super high resolution scans for enlarging, get yourself a good flatbed scanner and digital photo editing software. It takes a lot of money, time and effort to get scans that good.



But if you just need quick, decent quality photo scans for sharing via email or posting online, this may be exactly what you're looking for.



NOTE: After now doing approx. 500 scans, I have not had any of the problems with lines across the image that some reported. I do use the little cleaning swab (included) about every 50 scans as suggested by the manufacturer. Pandigital Photolink One-Touch PANSCN06 8.5-Inch x11-Inch Photo Scanner

The first thing we noticed about the PANSCN06 scanner was its small size. The scanner is about the size of the cardboard tube used for a roll of paper towels. The unit is amazingly powerful and versatile considering its small footprint.



We scanned a family album of 50 various size snapshots from the 1950s and 1960s by placing the scanner in front of the keyboard with the usb cord attached to the computer. Then we got going and placed photo after photo into the scanner slot, with the dual rolls of the scanner doing the work by pulling each photo through the front and out the back. The scanning of 50 photos required less than half an hour. Most of the time was spent removing the photos, then reinserting them back into the family album once scanning was complete.



Because we elected to scan directly to the computer rather than the SD card, we got immediate feedback by observing each scan on the monitor screen in near real-time. Thus we could tell if a photo had been scanned to our satisfaction, or needed to be re-scanned due to cockeyed orientation or some other reason.



As others here have observed, there are two scanning resolutions, 300dpi and 600dpi. We have only used the lower resolution, but have no complaints. The scans on the computer screen are at least four times larger than the original photos, which renders detail sufficient to blow us away.



There has been an issue with Pandigital scanners regarding lines appearing in the scanned image. We experienced no such problem after 50 scans. Reviewers on other websites have suggested opening the scanner case to clean the scanning glass of baked-on dirt or debris which cause the lines. We are prepared to attempt this remedy if needed, but only after the warranty expires.



There is one important issue about old photo scanning that needs to be brought to light here. This scanner is proficient at revealing details, some wonderful and some not, which are not obvious in the original photos. Thus, that hairy facial mole on Aunt Matilda's face in 1956 will once again be front and center on your computer screen, even if it was not that apparent in your little 2 x 3 print from the Eisenhower administration.



In our case, we grew up with a large active family that abused photos. Thus, after scanning we found ourselves using the eyedropper and paintbrush in Photoshop to restore images. We removed a wrinkle caused by a puppy teething on a print. We digitally blotted a red raspberry jam stain from my sister Susan's nose. We whitened the image to remove yellowed aging appearance. And so on.
