Flexible Tripod - camera accessories, photography

This tripod is perfect for the casual photographer tat travels alone, so he can place himself in the pictures. Also to take group pictures and apperar in it.

My 12 year old uses it a lot to meke funny pictures from various angles and it's excellent for parties, because the photographer gets to be in the picture too, if the camera has a time delay feature.

It's ligth weigth but sturdy. I have even used it with my old video camera and it hold it pretty well. Ravelli Tripods ATW Mini Tripod for Digital Camera or Webcam

This is the catch of a lifetime. I have checked new egg, ebay and all other websites you can think of and trust me this is the best.

It works just the way it should.

But please remember that it is not a tall stand. Its purpose is just to keep your camera away from ground. But on a plus side you can keep it at angles based on how you twist and turn the legs.

Design is simple and fits perfectly to my canon powershot G7 camera.

I thought that it was going to be cheesy plastic but it actually is very nicely made. I definitely trust my cameras to it. The legs stretch out nicely and go right back to their normal position when your done. And for 12Cents why not. It's worth $10.

I bought this tripod for use with a Kodak EasyShare Camera and it screws in the bottom of the camera perfectly. The legs are flexible enough to move, but not loose enough that the camera weight makes the tripod bend/slide. You can't beat the price anywhere! Would recommend to any casual photographer. Even has a little pocket/belt clip on the side to make it easy to carry around.

when I first took it out of the package and moved the legs around one of them came out. It's obvious that they are just held in by glue in the first place, so I'll just have to get some glue and put it back. But nonetheless, it's not very well constructed. But for $3.99 it's not even worth the shipping back to return it. The belt clip on the side is a nice touch, makes it easy to carry. Just hope it stays together!

I received a Kodak PlaySport (Zx3) HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera (Blue) recently as a gift, and while it's a fantastic camera, it needs to be held - it can't stand up by itself. This tripod solves the problem perfectly. The 3 arms are flexible yet strong, so the camera can be aimed in almost any direction. It only has one position, so if you want to be able to mount your camera horizontally and vertically, this isn't for you, but this is perfect for my needs. Super portable - maybe 5 inches long, and when it's closed it's maybe 1" in diameter. - Camera Accessories - Mini Tripod - Photography - Travel Tripod

Point And Shoot Camera

I decided on the Canon A495 as I wanted an inexpensive camera to carry around in my purse for unexpected shots. This is a good camera for beginners - it's not DSLR quality but it's easy to learn and use; it's not my camera of choice for my shots that I want to look really professional, my Panasonic camera is for those...but for those of you who just want a good basic camera from a well-known camera company, this one should fit your needs well.

Are you trying to decide between the A495 and the next model lower, the A490? Here are the differences:

· The A495 has a Face Self-Timer feature. You can focus on a group of people, and before the camera takes the shot, run over and get into the picture yourself, with your face being detected, too. Of course, you would also need a tripod or a place to set the camera down.

· The A495 has two (2) additional Scene Modes: Poster Effect and Super Vivid Color. Nice to have the additional scenes, but how often will you use them? I plan on making some art for my living room walls with the Poster Effect scene, so I opted for the A495.

· The A495 will focus on up to 9 faces (or areas); whereas the A490 will focus on up to 5 faces (or areas).

You have to decide for yourself if you would be using any of these additional features to save yourself a few dollars by going with the A490 instead of the A495.

PROS:

· Easy to use straight out of the box - I didn't need to read the manual to start out, but I recommend reading it to learn about all the features

· Fairly durable, even though it's made of plastic

· Powers up ready to take a picture in about a second

· 2.5" LCD screen is large enough to see clearly

· Takes great close-up (macro) shots

· Program mode lets you change some settings like exposure compensation, ISO, continuous shooting, metering mode, etc.

· Larger than an ultra-compact camera, so it's easier to grip and avoid dropping

· Uses AA batteries, and I'm surprised I got over 400 shots from my rechargeable batteries (the alkaline AA batteries included did not last long) - so I recommend rechargeables

· Takes surprisingly good video with sound (not HD) and can be directly uploaded to YouTube (this is part of the included software)

· The ZoomBrowser photo editing software has always been a favorite of mine, I use it with all my cameras, no matter what brand they are. I like this more than Picasa.

CONS:

· Recovery time after taking a picture is SLOW, and even worse if using the flash (approximately 3 seconds w/flash) - this is normal with a camera that uses two AA batteries. It's still better than the Nikon L20, though.

· No optical image stabilization - but this is rare in any camera at this price point

· No optical viewfinder - again, hard to find now in any camera, but if you want one, check out this Canon: Canon PowerShot A1100IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Silver)

· Battery door is flimsy, I have to be careful when closing it so the hinge doesn't break, and if not careful, the batteries fall out when removing the SD card

· Slightly on the bulky side, won't fit easily in a shirt pocket, should be OK in a pants pocket

I would have given this camera 5 stars if it wasn't so darn slow on the recycling time after taking a photo. It flashes "busy" on the LCD screen and it is frustrating when you are waiting to take another shot.

NOTE #1: This camera does not come with an SD card, so pick one up when buying the camera as you will not be able to use it right out of the box otherwise. This camera will accept SDHC cards up to/including 32 GB.

NOTE #2: The PSC-500 genuine Canon case Canon PSC-500 Deluxe Soft Case fits this camera perfectly, but there is no extra room for spare batteries. It's a snug fit, but it's well padded too.

NOTE #3: For those of you looking for a camera that can put a date stamp on your pictures, this one does. You have your choice of date only or date and time - or none at all. Canon PowerShot A495 10.0 MP Digital Camera with 3.3x Optical Zoom and 2.5-Inch LCD (Red)

The overall quality of this camera is good, however, I have had nothing but frustration since I began using this. First of all, with nearly every picture that you take using the flash, following the actual picture taking, the LCD display goes black for several seconds and gives you a message that it is charging the flash.

Second, the camera will take its time focusing in and finding the right levels of focus and clarity for the picture that you are trying to take. When it does allow you to take your photo, a review of the photo on both the LCD and later on a PC will often reveal that the picture you just took is blurry and out of focus.

In conclusion, this camera is too much high maintenance for a simple point-and-shoot camera. I have two small kids, and when I want to catch them at a particular moment to take a picture, every second is essential. Between waiting for the flash to charge and then the camera to focus, and then followed by pictures that come out with little quality, the money spent on this camera is not an investment in memories as it should be, but rather an investment in frustration.

Camera Stuff - sb-600, flash

I read 1-star reviews here and will agree this product is simply a frosted piece of plastic that happens to fit on your SB-600. I made the mistake of thinking the SB-600 has a built in bounce card, so I cannot compare this product to a bounce card yet. If you are creative, you could probably make something similar to this with scraps of packaging that other products came in and rubber bands.

However, having spent the money for this product, and comparing the results to the built in camera flash bare, as well as the SB-600 bare, I think it helps diffuse the light better than the built in SB-600 diffuser. So far, in near pictures (subject closer than 15 feet and with a ceiling) I prefer using this product and bouncing it off the ceiling straight up or maybe 65 deg. For farther subjects or wide open out door evening pictures, straight on with this diffuser helps minimize harshness compared to bare, straight flash.

If you are creative, make yourself something at home. If not, then it is a useful tool to have but I removed a star because I too think it could be priced a little lower. A 4 GB SDHC card from here on amazon is cheaper than this product and probably a better deal for $10-$15. Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce OM-600 Flash Diffuser Unit

I love the quality of lighting when I use this with my SB-600 but I hate the fact that it comes off the flash so easily. I can't even put the flash on a desk sideways as this will come off. Also, when the flash is stored inside my camera bag with this mounted, 9/10 times it will come off when I pull it out. Really annoying. Why can't they make these so they snap in place? - Nikon - Flash - Sb-600 - Speedlite

Swiffer Max Cloth Refills

I have been using the Max Swiffer for several years and love it. The only problem is finding the refills. I finally ordered online even though more expensive and ordered six boxes so I won't run out for awhile. The swiffer is wide and picks up animal hair beautifully along with the dust we get here in Arizona. I have Travertine floors and can't use most things so this is a life saver. Swiffer Max Refill Cloths for Swiffer/Max Sweeper, 16/Box, 6 Boxes/Carton (PAG37109CT)

I have searched most stores around here for the swiffer max and came up

with 0. so I ordered them on line. It was easy! I tried to go through

the online sales and found one that was a lot less expensive and ordered

4 boxes so that I won't run out for a while. They arrived at the house

in just a few days and I am delighted. No more running around and I probably saved money on the order.

Iphone Screen Protector - iphone screen protector, screen protectors

I bought this item a few days ago when there were no reviews yet to help decide on this item. I'm happy to say my purchase was the right decision as this protector is the nicest I've used, and fits the iPhone 4 perfectly, it is difficult to know there is a protector on the phone. Installation was very easy with no bubbles and the feel of the material is very nice. I wish they made one for the back!

One tip for installation on any of these protectors. Do it in the bathroom with the shower running. It takes all the dust out of the air, and you'll have a installation without dust under the screen. splash Masque Clear Screen Protector for iPhone 4 4G AT&T and Verizon (3-Pack + 2 Bonus Back Films)

I got these splash Masque screens to replace a very lousy (and overpriced) ZAGG invisibleShield that I had bought for my iPhone 4G. Thankfully, these splash Masque screens are a lot better, are a lot cheaper, and come 3 in a pack(so you get another couple chances if you mess up the first time, and can give one to a friend if you have an extra.

The splash Masque attaches easily, by static cling, and is smooth and thin as can be, which is nice because you want to see the screen, not the screen protector. In contrast, the ZAGG "invisibleShield" product was goofy to apply, awkwardly thick and had a rubbery feel and even though I followed ZAGG's instructions, their lousy screen came off after 1 week's use, just from rubbing in my pocket.

Before you start: Be sure to carefully and thoroughly clean your iPhone's glass screen before applying this or any other screen protector product. I did not do a good enough job the first time, and ended up wasting one screen. Before my second try, I used windex and a laboratory grade kimwipes (lint free photo lens cleaning cloth/paper should also work well). Even the tiniest, imperceptibly small dust will create little bubbles under the screen. The good news is that if your phone is brand new, this product will apply perfectly well and will keep the screen clean. If you've been using your iPhone with no protector, then be prepared to do a diligent job cleaning it before installing.

I'll also say that the iPhone screen looks best with NO SCREEN. But the iPhone screen does accumulate little tiny scratches, which you don't notice when the screen is powered on, but when it's off, you'll see them. To protect your screen, you need a screen protector. This product is a great choice to do that!

This is a very good product. I have had it on my phone for around 2 months and I have not had a problem since plus I have had the same one on the whole time. It was easy to put on and there has been very little bubble issues which I couldn't fix very easily. Great Product!

basically, this product is what i'm searching for. it's fair in price range and the product itself is good enough if you are someone who once in a while have your phones in your pockets together with your keys. and probably bang it lightly on walls or tables. it would be great if this comes with a back cover as well but since iphone 4 was giving out free cases i could just choose the ones with the back covered. amazingly, although it's not really clearly stated, this film is kinda "reusable" i spent one whole our getting the bubbles out(this is the first time i'm doing this kind of thing) and i think i accidentally let the whole film gone and it sticked right on the screen. using my fingernails, i could actually peel it up again, slowly. but it only works on the first day. after 2 or three days, it actually stuck there and don't come up again. so i guess, this product really worth the dollar i spent.

Despite all of the great reviews, I was a little bit wary of this product after seeing other reviewers describe a "rainbowing" visual effect on the screen and a couple of reviewers describe "drag" when sliding their fingers on the screen.

I applied this screen protector to my iPhone 4 a month ago, and I have only noticed a "rainbow" effect once (actually like waterstained silk in my experience) under extremely unusual light conditions (phone at an angle in dim compact flourescent light). In my experience, at least, I have never noticed any visual distractions at any other time.

Given the self-adhering quality of the protector, I had wondered if it would have a floppy "Colorform"-type texture (like the reminder stickies you get on your windshield from the oil change place). But it's actually fairly rigid and very thin. The feel of it is very silky, and to me it feels just like glass. You might experience drag if you have wet hands and press hard, but I have never experienced any drag.

Application was very easy. I would follow the recommendation to have the shower on, and clean the screen meticulously (look at it from every angle to detect dust/lint) before applying the protector. I have applied mine and my husband's with no problems either time -- just read the instructions, clean well, and be patient in the application. - Iphone Screen Protector - Screen Protectors - Invisible Shield - Zagg

That's it.. Problem Fixed.. I hope it works on your cellphones... Blackberry 9530 Storm Unlocked For Any GSM Carrier Worldwide

Not much to say but CONS, lots of cons:

a. WEAK BATTERY, charge every 6 hours

b. ACTIVATION REQUIRED 24/7 ON YOUR FACE

c. LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE, they don't offer any solution even though i contacted them twice.

d. THERE'S NO EXTRA ACCESSORIES, THE PICTURES IS MISLEADING

VERY FRUSTRATING...

I was looking for the unlock cell phone for travel to over sea, found this Blackberry sound good for what I need for the price, then after received the phone try to used it turn out it need to activate from verizon service, this phone have to go back.

aw.

Now i can not say much about the phone because i have never received the item or blessed eyes on it now i placed an order with the OEM shop on the 5th of February 2011 today as i am writing this review is the 10th of march 2011 you do the math, this is how long ago i placed my order.from i placed my order i have been back and forth with this company (the OEM shop)trying to resolve this problem these people have gotten my money a month ago and i can not get it back up to now every time i contact them, as i don't have a phone number for them, i have to do so via emails they send back saying sorry for the inconvenience this company was dishonest from the start i ordered a phone that they knew they did not have in stock and i had to contact them after weeks of wondering where my phone was, not having a tracking number to find out from one person that it was on some kinda back order then it was out of stock and when it became available they will ship it. I told these people i wanted my money back they still ship the phone the, they recalled the phone in mid transit an sent me an email, mind you with such a matter i believe phone calls would be best but that's just my opinion, telling me that they will refund my money within 48hours to my knowledge 48 means within two days i received this email on the 7th of march 2011 it is now the 10th of march 2011 and up to now no one has contact me as to where my money is and when i will be getting it back this is my first time having dealings with this company (the OEM shop) and it has been the worst experienced yet i have googled trying to find other ways in terms of a phone number to contact this business to speak to a manager or someone in charge to no avail but what did come up on my Google search is posts and reviews of people who this company (the OEM shop) has done something similar to.To end off i would have to say people amazon is great because i have ordered stuff on the same day i ordered from the OEM shop and after and guess what i have already gotten my items but i have to say that the OEM shop will not be getting any more business from me other customers be aware you don't want to end up with the same problem i had. With that said i think amazon should have as a policy that persons or business who sell on Amazon need to put up more than an email address as contact info for those of us that end up having disputes like this because if you don't call (which you cant because there is no number) or email the OEM shop they wont contact you and tell you what is happen they need to realize people have to work hard for their money and don't wish to see it go down the drain for nothing again, Amazon is wonderful but the OEM shop needs to pull up their socks this is not a nice thing to be doing !!!!!!!!!

The phone is lovely and just what I needed. Unfortunately it was still locked onto a specific carrier and hence useless to me. The seller (OEM Shop) was unresponsive and has yet to resolve the issue. I had to purchase a different phone and get on with life.

I paid for 1 day shipment. They spend 3 days to move it from Brooklyn to Newark. In the end it was 5 days shipment. Nothing to say about phone cause I'm in another country now.

No answer for claims from amazon or seller. No comments :)

I purchased the Unlocked Storm because the description led me to believe that the phone would have full functionality on the all GSM networks. Unfortunately that was not accurate. OEM did contact me regarding some of the issues with the phone but they took two to three days to reply to my emails and would not call me to trouble shoot or fully resolve my issues. Because I was trying to get the phone to work following very cryptic emails from their technical person, I missed the 30-day window to return the product or a refund. The phone is still not working properly with our wireless carrier. I would not purchase this phone believing it will work with AT&T. I have always liked shopping on Amazon.com will continue to do so but I was disappointed with this vendor and the service I received. - Blackberry Storm 9530 - Blackberry 9530 - Blackberry Storm - Blackberry

Amzer - case, holsters

The case itself is pretty good. Snaps on to the phone nicely. The picture might lead you to believe that the "entire" case is this carbon fiber, but it's just the backside that faces you in the product image. The rest is plastic. The plastic holster is the weakest part of this product. The clip is loose and feels like it will eventually just snap off. Fortunately, my wife had a case-mate.com carbon fiber holster from her iphone and it fits this evo 4g shift phone! Sweet! So now, my wife has a nice case for her evo 4g shift(this product), combined with her old iphone carbon fiber holster and viola... best of both worlds. I took a star off the rating due to it only being carbon fiber on the outside of the case. I took another star off for the holster. Ultimately, however, if you need a clip on type of case for your evo 4g shift, this one is the best out there thus far that I have found. Received this yesterday. 1/26/11. Amzer Carbon Snap Case for HTC EVO Shift 4G - Black

I bought this case when i bought the phone. The volume buttons were easy to accidentally push and i thought it would be better with the case and it was. I put the case on as soon as i got home and it was hard to put on but fit very nice once applied. The problem... the keyboard is really difficult to open with this case. At first i thought it was the phone itself i didn't like because of the trouble i was having opening the stupid thing. Not only did this case make it difficult to slide the keyboard open in general but because of the slick plastic it would almost slide out of my hands while trying to open. I still really thought it was the phone itself i didn't like until i took the case off a day later (which is really hard to get off). I love this phone now and i'm so glad i didn't take it back because of the problems I was having with this stupid case. My advise is to play around with your new phone first and then see which case will work for you. I really doubt this case is good for anyone. Also, the first time i even tried to slide the keyboard out was after i applied the case. I'm sure i would of known it was the case from the start if i had.

I returned this case. It is next to impossible to take it off once you put it on - you will need access to the battery compartment occasionally. It practically doubles the size of your Evo - won't fit into my small purse and it makes it heavier. It makes sliding out the keyboard very difficult. Overall, a very poorly designed product and I'm surprised.

I bought a body glove generic case until this one arrived. Got it.

Snap case fits very well and looks real nice. More difficult to slide, but feels more sturdy.

I was accidentally hitting volume all the time...now I don't.

The clip is where the biggest problem lies. The clip wants to fall off all the time. Thought it was because I was clipping it to my pocket, but even onto a belt, anytime I try to slide the phone out, clip comes too. Sad because I liked how the phone slid into the phone belt clip attachment.

The phone in the snap case still fits in the generic body glove case. The clip works better. - Case - Holsters

Nutritional Scale - weighing scale, diet scale

I would prefer to write this review after some time has passed, but I want to make sure I get my thoughts out here early on.

This is my third kitchen scale. I bake all my own bread at home and good baking requires weighing the ingredients rather than volume measuring.

This scale feels very light which made me nervous at first, but I've used it for three weeks now, through a lot of baking over the holidays, and my concerns seem out of line.

This scale fits all my needs. Here is what I look for:

1. CAPACITY - AT LEAST 10 LB (this has 11 lb, or 5 kg). This is required to be able to tare out a glass bowl which can weigh near 5 lbs empty. 11 lb is still borderline when I'm making bread in a 6 qt kitchenaid bowl, but I just weigh ingredients separately in another bowl if it becomes a problem.

2. PRECISION - DOWN TO 1 GRAM - Another scale I have was only good to 5 grams and, although this was probably good enough, it drove me nuts not to be able to go down to 1 gram

3. STABLE PLATFORM FOR VESSELS -- My previous scale had a platform that sat on top of a pillar and eventually came detached. After that it was a balancing act to weight anything

4. ORDINARY BATTERIES -- I liked my old scales fine, but it drove me crazy that I had to keep buying overpriced CR2032 batteries for the things. These batteries don't last long and cost too much to replace. I can't figure out why they use these "button batteries" rather than the more common higher capacity AAA, AA, C, D, etc cells. It's not like these scales are micro-sized. In any event A BIG BIG PLUS for this scale is that it uses standard batteries! Don't sell this point short.

5. PRICE -- $50, $30, $70 for a scale to do this is crazy. the circuitry in these things is cheap. It's not rocket science. All these scales that have "features" are a waste of money. This scale does what needs to be done for $20.

6. FEATURES -- Zero the scale, read negative numbers, switch between metric and English weights, tare a bowl....that's it...that's all you need. All the rest of it is a waste of money and a further chance for failure. this does what is needed and no more.

7. EASY TO READ -- big numbers. this scale is good....Not so good about this scale (and the ONLY problem I have so far) is that big bowls tend to cover the read out a little and make it hard to pick up the weight. So far it hasn't been a big deal, but it can be a slight annoyance.

BOTTOM LINE:

This scale gets 100% on items 1-6 and about 50% on item 7 for a 93% grade overall...enough for me to give it 5 out of 5 stars.

The only remaining unrated item is DURABILITY....I'll report back in a year. My old, $50 scale only lasted 3.5 years. I'm betting this one goes at least that long...plus I won't be forking over for new button batteries every month and a half. EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, Silver

** This review has been edited ** I now give the product 5 stars (stupidly, Amazon doesn't allow changing the rating when editing).

Originally I wrote a bad review indicating the unit eats batteries. We didn't use it frequently and every time we did, the batteries were dead.

About a day after I submitted the review, Bill from EatSmart Products emailed me indicating he had seen the review and short battery life is not typical of the product (he stated they should last ~1 year). With no prompting from me, he sent out a new scale along with some batteries to replace the ones the original scale consumed. Although it hasn't been very long, so far the batteries in the new unit are holding up well.

So as I stated above, I now give this scale a 5-star rating due not only to its good performance, but the great customer service from the manufacturer!

Item Reviewed: EatSmart Precision Pro - Multifunction Digital Kitchen Scale w/ Extra Large LCD and 11 Lb. Capacity.

EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, White

I am no scale expert, but EatSmart has offered me a free book if I write a review of their scale, and this has prompted my review. I have only been using the scale for two weeks, but I haven't had any problems with it so far. My only nitpicks at this point are that the "white" color has a pinkish tone and that the buttons aren't perfectly even. Aside from these minor cosmetic issues, the scale is exactly what I expected: a functional, easy-to-use, accurate, inexpensive ($25), small, lightweight, plastic scale.

When making my scale purchase, I also considered buying the Escali Primo Digital Multifunctional Scale, Chrome. The only advantage that the Escali Scale has over the EatSmart Precision Pro Scale is that the Escali Scale has buttons that prevent food from getting into the cracks. In contrast, when using the EatSmart Scale, you have to be careful not to drop food in between the two buttons. For this reason, I put my scale in a plastic Ziploc bag (gallon size) to protect it from drippings and droppings - this keeps it clean, and it still works great! In all other respects (except for the few noted below), the two scales seem to be very similar according to the product descriptions.

In the end I decided to purchase the EatSmart Scale over the Escali Scale because I preferred the EatSmart unit options. The EatSmart Scale allows you to switch back and fourth between four different unit modes: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, 00.000 pounds, and 00.000 kilograms (resolution: .05 ounces/1 gram). This requires pushing the right button once for each mode (for example, start on grams, then push once to get to ounces, then again to get to pounds, then a third time for kilograms). The EatSmart scale will remember the last unit-mode you chose, so you don't have to readjust every time. If you always use pounds, just leave it on pounds. When you return the next day and turn on your scale, it will still be on pounds.

In contrast, The Escali Scale only offers three unit options: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, and [00 lbs + 00.0 ounces]. I prefer the EatSmart Scale because it provides pounds with decimals (00.000 lbs) - for me this is easier to deal with than [00 lbs + 00.0 ounces]. I frequently measure out meats, which are labeled in pounds with decimals (00.000 lbs) at most grocery stores. If I buy a pound of hamburger and want to divide it into three 1/3-pound portions (0.33 lbs), the EatSmart Scale makes it easy. I just measure out the 0.33 lb portions right there on the scale. With the Escali Scale, I would have to do some conversions to measure out my portions, because the Escali Scale will not measure out pounds in decimals. In some cases these conversions can be difficult without a calculator. The conversion required in this example would be:

(0.33 lbs/portion) * (16 ounces/lb) = 5.333 ounces/portion ---> Possible to do without a calculator, but not ideal.

Another EatSmart feature that I have found convenient is that you do not have to use the tare button. Simply place your empty bowl or plate on the scale BEFORE turning it on, then push the left button once to turn it on. It turns on very quickly and is zeroed-out upon starting up. Then you can add your ingredients to the plate without having to wait for the scale to tare! If you would rather use the tare button, that is easy as well. Simply push the left button to turn on the scale, then place your empty plate on the scale, push the left button a second time to "tare" the scale, wait for the scale to zero out, and then add your food items that you want to measure.

With its three-minute automatic shut-off feature, the scale gives you plenty of time to make your measurement before turning off. I haven't had it shut off on me yet in the middle of a measurement. It also allows you to shut it off manually by pushing the button on the left twice (you have to wait for it to zero out to 00.000 before pushing it the second time - if it is at 00.003 when you go to push it the second time, it will just tare again to 00.000). The scale also seems to give its readings rather quickly - so no problems there.

IN SUMMARY: The EatSmart Scale has three battery-conscious features: generous three-minute automatic shut-off, option to turn off manually, and ability to tare without actually spending time taring! It also uses standard AAA batteries which are easily replaceable. It offers four convenient unit modes: 0000 grams, 000.00 ounces, 00.000 pounds, and 00.000 kilograms. Canon Printer Ink - printer ink, ink cartridge

The BCI-3eBk is good quality black ink for an inkjet printer. I have used this ink for a couple of years now and don't recall it smudging on the pages I print. The price on this product (compared to HP products) is fair, but I am able to print a 100 to 200 pages before running out of ink. Of course, you will get more pages out of this cartridge if you print more color graphics than text. Canon BCI-3eBK Black Ink Cartridge (4479A003)

I've had Canon printers using this cartridge for more than a year and won't settle for any of those knock-offs. Yeah, they're often much cheaper, but this is one area where you get what you pay for. Brand X fades and does not perform as well in the inkjet system. This has been confirmed in independent lab tests in a leading PC magazine. I have had to install and remove countless cartridges and NEVER spilled a drop. The pop-in, pop-out design couldn't be easier.

Not much to say besides it's very easy to install and quite inexpensive compared to the other brands (HP, Epson, etc). The best thing about this ink is that it doesn't run out very fast. I've printed numerous docs (say about 500) and many invitations (say 500) and I'm still on my first tank. I do recomend getting this ink for all you who do have a compatible printer. In my opinion, messing with generic brand ink somehow leads to problems down the line. You may be saving some money now, but down the road when you'll be kicking yourself when the generic stuff breaks or clogs your printer.

This product was purchased through Amazon from Eforcity. It was advertised as Canon. The picture of the product was a canon box picture, BUT IT WAS NOT CANON. It was aftermarket! I did not get canon, I got conned!

Good price and quick delivery. The product is a Canon original and not a generic which the repairman told me never to use in my Canon printer after repairing it due to ink damage from a Staples generic cartridge. I mean it ruined the print head and the main board. Thanks Amazon.Com for good service and products.

If you own a Canon printer, buy a Canon ink cartridge! That is my warning. Generic ink cartridges may look the same as their OEM counterparts but that is not the case. The little sponge that the ink comes out of has some kind of defect so the ink spreads out unevenly and your document or photo will be smeared with ink!!! So even if you find a great deal at $1.99 or better, stick with the official Canon product - it can't be beat.

First off, this product is excellent. This review is to warn potential purchasers that Eforcity (3rd party vendor) purports to sell "genuine" Canon BCI-3e BK cartridges but substitutes Chinese compatibles of lesser quality. When I challenged Eforcity, they said I would have to return the bogus ink tanks to obtain a refund. Without even being asked, Amazon stepped in and processed a refund. Avoid this vendor if you need genuine Canon ink, which is strongly recommended to avoid "messy" problems with your printer.

Ad clearly stated (and showed photo of) Canon BCI-3eBK ink. Instead I received a knock-off brand named "OA100" which had "Made in China" stamped on the bottom its package. I then went through the steps at Amazon to get refunded... which first requires me to email the company. The company never responded to my email but did refund my full purchase price once I filed the claim with Amazon. Maybe just a mix up on their part since the company has mostly (and many) positive ratings. Guess I get to list 3 knock-off brand cartridges on ebay now! :)

it was shown as a cannon ink tank when it arrived it was a innovera ink tank

if I had know it was not a cannon ink tank I would not have purchased it.

the last time I used a remanufactured ink tank I had to replace my printer head which was over $70.00.

this product may be ok but I am not willing to take the risk.

they should have made it clear it was not a real cannon ink tank - Ink - Mp780 - Printer Ink - Ink Cartridge

Earbuds For Cellphone - handsfree, earbuds for cellphone

I purchased this product so I could chat with my family while driving to and from work. It conveniently fits in one ear without the headset looking microphone so you don't feel like you are working at Old Navy or in a call center. You should be sure to plug it in before driving so there's no extra fiddling around, the only inconvenience associated with non-wireless capabilities. Quite often the person I am speaking with complains of not being able to hear me very well, but after a microphone adjustment it seems to be aleviated. Plantronics Mobile Headset for Most Phones with Standard 2.5mm Headset Jack - Audiovox, Blackberry, Kyocera, LG, Samsung, Sanyo, Treo

This headset is great. My friends can hear me better when I talk with the headset plugged in than without it. And I hear better too. I used a Motorola headset before but the Plantronics is far better than the Motorola.

I'm on my second headset (I literally wore the first one out) and love it. The earclip is comfy and the earpiece never falls out of your ear and the sound is good. The extra clip on the wire keeps it from getting caught on things. I drive, garden and do housework wearing this. Love it.

Microphone - for a bud - is pretty good, with windscreen that's effective at 10mph or so. The rubber that clamps the earlobe is rather rigid, annoying after a while. A seam in the clamp really hurts after a while, but it's easy to cut with a razor blade. Output sound is relatively loud (efficient speaker) but sound quality is rather muffled. It's OK for speech, and an elderly person might not mind the sound, but this is certainly not for hi-fi music. No treble. Cheap, and I certainly would buy it again.

This is excellent for cellphone use while driving, because you can hangup or pickup your phone with a push of the button at the ear, no need to look for the on-hook/off-hook button on your phone. And it's loud enough you could hear over your car noise. Microphone is good at stopping wind noise, but not for stopping car noise. But beware - another model (same price, looks identical in photographs) does not have this pushbutton feature, and it won't work on all phones. I use it with a Palm Centro.

This headset is affordable and has decent sound quality. However, I've owned 3 and have found that they quit working after 3 months or so. Would only recommend them if you are okay with their disposable nature.

This headset lasted a little under 6 months. In the end, the microphone stopped working. Since this type is the only one that works on my ear, I ordered again and will see if this lasts a little longer. I am not hard on this equipment either. Thanks.

mic hang on ears ok, i wish that by pushing the outside button enable you to answer incoming call without fliping the cell phone - no, you still have to flip the phone, close the phoce and begin talking.

i suggest that you shop for such a feature in the phone store, try it out before buying.

Not snappy like Bluetooth earpiece mics, but then again, it doesn't drain my phone battery either. It fits comfortably and stays in place, especially with the clip around the earlobe. A nice surprise is that it has a button that turns on voice-activated dialing. - Handsfree - Earbuds For Cellphone - Plantronics - Hands Free

Garage Door Remote - liftmaster, one button remote

This opener is as simple as it gets and has only ONE button to open/close ONE garage door - if you need to control more than one door look for other models. It literally takes seconds to program. Just make sure your opener is compatible with SECURITY+ systems, which operate at 315 MHz (purple learn button and purple antenna). This opener has good range and will open my garage door from over a block down the street. I highly recommend this opener if you just need to control a single garage door. Liftmaster 371LM 315MHz Garage Door Remote(See Tech. Details Below)

I don't have experience with any other remote so can't do any comparison.

But this remote works, and have a decent range. However before purchasing make sure that it will work with ur garage door opener.

The garage door remotes were shipped the day after I ordered them. They were in their original, unopened packages as advertised and worked beautifully! Extremely easy transaction - I highly recommend this vendor!

I have purple learn button so I bought the LM371. I pressed the learn button for 6 seconds to erase all previous opener frequencies. Then pressed the learn button once click the LM371, the light flashed and it was done. I did it for 2 more openers and just as easy. Works great everytime, cheap and easy.

The Liftmaster 371LM 315MHz Garage Door Remote could not be any easier to program and works flawlessly. The post office lost this shipment for a few days and Amazon immediately refunded the full price. For value, rapid delivery, and excellent customer service I have come to depend on Amazon.

I ordered it from Amazon and the product arrived quickly(3-4 days) with no shipping charges. Same product in Home Depot was more than double the price Amazon had. It works great. I am very happy and would definitely recommend it. - One Button Remote - Remote - Garage Door Opener - Liftmaster

Rechargeable Batteries - laptop batteries, e1505

Just a little tidbit for everyone using laptop battaries(specifically LI-Ion)

Most battaries that favor a constant charge and recharge capacity work in two different forms. Your standard Ni-Cd or nickel cadmium battery is a slow drain slow charge type battery, a complete drain and recharge is a standard that most of us know. Not the case with Li-Ion, the lithium battery, and newer Metal Hydroxide batteries work better and last longer using the 100-40-100-20-100-40-100-40-100-20% recharge plans. On your initial charge of 100% charging you let the battery drain to 40% and then recharge to 100% and then the second depletion to 20% and back to a full recharge cycle. This helps maintain the battery condition and in some aspects the "Brain" of the battery so to speak is set in motion and maintains battery health througout time.

I myself thought the cycle was complete depleation of the battery on each recharge which actually shortens the life of the battery.(learn something new everyday)

Another item to remember is that when you plug in your laptop, and the indicator says fully charged, the battery is still being used in most cases and recharging. A good note is to remove the battery while in use of a power outlet and set aside until going mobile. This will also help prolong the battery. Hope this helps anyone who may be having to replace batteries often.

(P.S.) also good for cell phone usage (have had my phone for 4 years with no problems in keeping a full charge of battery life for at least 2 days, havent replaced the battery yet)

Enjoy :) Laptop Replacement Battery for 312-0428, 0UD260, KD476, GD761, Inspiron 1501, Inspiron 6400, Inspiron E1505, Latitude 131L

Hi All,

I have been a great fan of all products and customer reviews provided at amazon. This is the first time that a product that had 17 4+ reviews failed miserably. The battery seems to be not recognized by Dell. Once I put the battery in my Inspiron E1505, on booting the laptop, i get the warning message stating

"Warning:The model number of the primary battery can not be recognized by Dell

The battery would not be charged."

I spent almost 2 hours trying to resolve this issue, upgraded my bios from A03 to A17 but still nothing changes. Either all the 17 4+ reviewers were affiliates of the seller and are bogus or my case is a one of scenario. Whatever be it, I am highly dissatisfied by the product and would appreciate if anyone knows of a valid solution for the 50$ spent on this item.

In spite of Amazon's product title, this battery is not compatible with my Inspiron 1505. The 1505 does not recognize this battery, and it does not charge. Save yourself the aggravation, and avoid this product.

I read all the favorable reviews about this "Laptop Replacement Battery" and bought this product on September 10, 2009. I received it via USPS on September 24th. The battery was about 62% charged when I got it. I have a Dell Inspiron E1505, and I had checked before buying that this battery was compatible with E1505.

Now the problem.

The battery is not recognised by Dell at bootup. I upgraded by bios, with the same result. After the complete charge of the battery was drained out, i have tried charging it, and it does not charge at all.

I think I have been thoroughly duped. I bought this for $51, and I now see that the price has been reduced to $39.

I am going to figure out a way to return this product and get my money back. A complete waste of time, and waste of money.

Save yourself $50 and don't buy this piece of crap.

The laptop battery arrived promptly with USPS priority mail.

I left it charged fully over night for about 6 hours.

It functioned for a full 3 hours before getting down to the 10% recharge level. The usage was heavy 2 hour disk and CD drive work as I was installing web cam software twice as I goofed it up the first time and had to unload the software and load it again. Last hour was email and web usage.

The battery performed better than expected. The battery meter at one point indicated that it had 5+ hours left. I am sure that would be just web usage.

Great deal versus the Dell $150+ price tag.

This battery is compatible and works well with the Vostro 1000. Instructions are confusing. I simply installed and followed good battery practices - completely charged the battery, completely drained the battery, then repeated.

UPDATE: One year later and this battery is still working like a champ! :)

--------------------------------------

I've needed a new battery for my Inspiron E1505 for several months, but just didn't want to bite the bullet and spend nearly $200 buying it from Dell. On a whim, I thought I'd check Amazon. I found this and saw that most reviews were good, so I took a shot.

I've had the battery for a little over a month now and it seems to be working well. I'm very glad I didn't spend the money buying a Dell battery when this one works just as well for 1/4 the price. Even if it doesn't last as long as a manufacturer's battery, it won't be that heart-breaking to lose $50 bucks.

The only VERY MINOR complaint, if you can call it that, is that the indicator lights on the battery itself (showing you how much juice is left when you press the button,) doesn't seem to work. I shaved off one star because of this, but it's really not a big deal to me.

This battery was received as advertised and it's fit and performance was and is as promised. The price was right too. Am using it now as I type this review. It is the same battery with all details except not having the Dell logo on it. - Laptop Batteries - Laptop Battery - E1505 - Dell Battery

Iphone Car Mount - car mount, car mounts

Installed a few days ago. Grips phone well, in various positions. Releases easily (one button). Careful w/ mounting hooks. They are thin (to fit into vent slats) and have to be bowed when removed (to disengage hook). Just be careful and take your time. Installed, seems solid. Design allows for lots of vent/dash designs. For the price, don't think you can go wrong. Luxmo universal car vent or dash mount phone holder with adjustable grip

I like the way it attaches to the vent or dash. I prefer the vent mount. The base of the holder should be larger so that the cell phone can rest securely in the holder. You have to pinch the adjustable sides very tightly or the phone will fall out. This could be eliminated with a larger base.

I've had this device for my Samsung SCH-a870 phone for a few months now, but recently 1 of the tabs broke off making it useless.

When it wasn't broken it sorta did its job. It didn't fit as snug as i had hoped and have had multiple times where the part that attached to the phone would come loose.

I tried other universal cell phone holders that either damaged the vent louvers or would not stay attached. This was the only one I found to stay in place and firmly hold my cell phone or ipod. My wife liked it so much I had to buy another one for me.

Unfortunately the device did not adapt to my vent, so I had to use the supplied adhesive. It did not hold, even though I thoroughly cleaned the area of adhesion.

The phone is held well by the holder, though, but the whole setup keeps falling off where it is attached to my dash, because of the poor adhesive.

I tried the peel-and-stick mount first (after of course, cleaning the site really well). It stayed for a few days, then fell off after a few bumps in the roads, so now I use it on the vents which works just fine. Htc Inspire 4g - htc inspire 4g

Bought the phone. Couldn't find a pouch case ANYWHERE that fit, as the Inspire is wider than most of its peers. This pouch even fits with a skin case on the phone. Wow. Great price. Great service from the seller, too. Premium Executive Black Vertical Leather Carrying Pouch Case for HTC Inspire 4G (Free Gift)

This product fits the phone like a glove. Leather seems sturdy, durable and of good quality. It protects the phone well as I don't have a cover over the phone. It has a magnet that keeps the cover in place which also seems to work well. Hopefully, that will last. It has a clip that stays in place on all garments.

This product is well worth the price if your goal is protection and quality.

Just received this via U.S.P.S and for once they were pretty darn fast with delivery. Open the package, a white bubble pack mailer envelope and found a very nice case. Surprised it had a magnetic invisible catch. Clip looks very well attached and strong. Phone fits in snuggly and I'm fairly certain it will loosen up with use. Still need to apply 'skins and hope it all slides together smoothly. I'll try and write an addendum to this after using it. For the price it's a sure thing.

Although I have a sleeve on my phone I wanted to have a way to carry it without having to have my purse with me, especially when exercising. The case is light and easy to access and also fits very well.

I received the case as promised. It works as promised. I feel the clip is very strong and should do well during my usage of the product.

I enjoy the magnetic lock as opposed to other snap type closures. Many reviews have stated that the case is not leather. I'm not an expert. It may not be leather, but it appears to be durable, which is all I really wanted!

This is a nice product. It is very attractive and would be very at home with the white collar guys (suits). A little too nice for rough folks like me, not for the bluejeans and T-shirt crowd. Although it would serve to protect your phone very well anyway. IMHO

Could not be any happier with this purchase!

Excellent case, fits husband's 4G HTC Inspire, and almost every day he tells me he LOVES this case! Very sturdy, high quality, Leather, and UNBELIEVABLE price! We searched through several stores - Sams, Walmart's, Best Buy, and online looking for a case to fit husband's Inspire 4G and nothing would fit. So glad we found this on Amazon.

Also, we ordered the OTTER protective case for his Inspire through their website - (they're in stock now, so get these while you can!)

We fully expect the phone to fit (with the thick protective case) as the leather pouch has an expandable side. I will post a follow-up as soon as the Otter case arrives to let you know.

I like wearing my phone on my belt so it is accessible.

The HTC Inspire is a big phone, but this leather holder carries it well. Clip slides over the belt and holds securely.

Appears to be well constructed. Is holding up well so far. - Htc Inspire 4g

Portable Vehicle Gps - gps, garmin nuvi

I actually could not decide between the Garmin Nuvi 255w or the 750 model, so I decided to buy them both for comparison. I mounted them both to my car windshield and gave them various addresses to find together. I found that both models took the same routes and announced upcoming turns and street names at practically the same time. One thing I noticed about the 255w was that it was updating my position on the road more often, I'd say about 3 times as often as the 750. This made for smoother graphics on the 255w of the vehicle moving along displayed roads, where the 750's display was more of a "jerky" movement. I also found that the display on the 255w was a bit brighter, clearer, and more vivid than on the 750 in both daylight and at night. Another feature I like on the 255w is the graphic turn indicator in the upper left corner, which the 750 lacks. This is a small arrow which shows upcoming turns and the distance to that turn. It also show things like a fork in the road, (ie: a Y intersection), and which fork you will be taking. The 750 just displays text on the top line for upcoming turns without the arrow. It's just a little extra feature on the 255w which I happened to really like. The 255 also automatically adjusts the font size of displayed text so that even lengthy text will fit.

Another feature on the 255w is a display of the posted speed limit on the road which you are currently on right above your current displayed speed. I found myself not even looking at my car speedometer as I could easily see my current speed and the speed limit of my route at a glance. The 750 doesn't have this feature. I also like how they moved the zoom in (+) and zoom out (-) buttons on the 255w to the same side of the screen which makes it a bit easier. On the 750 the zoom buttons are on opposite sides of the screen.

Now there are some features on the 750 that the 255w does not have. The 750 can broadcast it's sound over your FM radio with the supplied cigarette lighter cable, and it has a headphone jack, which I found to be nice features. The 750 also has an MP3 player and an Audio-book player, which the 255w does not. Another really nice feature of the 750 is the car locater. This is a great feature if you are parking in a really big lot, such as at an amusement park or a fair. The 750 marks your location when you remove it from the car, then you take it with you and it remembers where you parked and takes you right back to your car. The 255w doesn't have the car locater.

I also thought the the voice prompts of the 750 where more pleasant sounding than the 255w's. The 750 sounds more like a real female voice, where the 255w sounds more robotic.

Another thing to consider was that I paid $50 less for the 750 and it came with the FM transmitter cable and a USB cord to connect it to your computer for updates and downloads.

My final decision was to keep the 255w and return the 750 because I really liked the graphic turn indicator and the posted speed limit and current speed indicators. I didn't find a need for the 750's MP3 player and Audio book player, but that is up to personal preference. Since the USB cable was not included with the 255w, I purchased it on this site for $10. I also intend to purchase the MSN direct cable when it is available in August 2008. Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator

If you spend much time driving in unfamiliar territory, especially if you rent cars in big cities, a good portable GPS makes an amazing difference. And the Garmin 255W is the best one I could find in the $250 - $350 range.

First this thing just plain works. I haven't had any issues with mine. It was easy to set up and figure out right out of the box, and it's easy to use. It never has had trouble getting sufficient signal unlike earlier and cheaper models.

I chose the 255W for several reasons: It uses some of the newest and best maps available. It has one of the more usable touch screens for entering destinations. It's fast to acquire satellites. And Garmin almost always comes out on top in reviews--especially in routing.

Ultimately, you buy a car GPS to get you from Point A to Point B as easily and efficiently as possible. And that's what the 255W does best. If you've ever had a "Brand X" GPS take you on some strange route that adds 20 minutes to your trip, has you turn the wrong way down a one way road, tell you to turn AFTER you've passed the street, frequently loses the satellite signal, or has old maps missing streets, you know how important this stuff is.

The 255W has a really clear display that's easy to see in any light. It's small enough to use on foot. The windshield mount works great and it's easy to toss in the glovebox when you park. It even tells you the speed limit on most roads. The "points of interest" feature works very well to find places to eat by type of cuisine, gas stations, etc.

The difference between the 255W and 205W is the 255 speaks street names and includes Alaska and Canada. The 205 and 205W will tell you to "turn right in 500 feet" which isn't as helpful or obvious as "turn right on Ivy Street in 500 feet". The "W" models are widescreen which makes entering destinations easier due to having a bigger "keyboard" and also lets you see more map area while driving.

All in all this isn't the cheapest GPS in its class but it's one of the best. My only gripe is you need an expensive add-on to get live traffic data--something that's included with the Magellan Roadmate 1430 which is close to the same price. But the Garmin 255W is a better GPS in every other way. - Gps - Garmin Nuvi - Garmin 255w - Garmin

Apple Care - applecare, apple care

Actually, first shipment was the wrong product. But, I shop at Amazon becuase their service is so good. I told them it was the wrong product, they sent out the correct product immediately.

Otherwise, not much to say. Applecare for my Mac Mini. AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac Mini (OLD VERSION)

Worth every penny! Unless you are a computer guru, and always up-to-date, you want the telephone support, and you will need it, When the usual "clicks" do not work, and that is happening more and more often, it's hard to find a bypass. Every now and then, even members of the apple support team fail to provide a correct answer. With the extended CARE plan advise is at least (almost) free of charge.

Amazon offered the best prize for it - 30 Dollars off.

I went back and forth on whether you need to purchase AppleCare for the mac mini due to the low cost of the device. From my experience with other apple products (macbooks, iMacs), I decided to pull the trigger for peace of mind. Adds an additional 2 years to the built in 1 year warranty. Aside from swapping out the RAM, it would be very difficult to perform any troubleshooting on this machine, and even though Apple products may seem like they are better than other computer manufacturers, remember most of the internals are not made by Apple. Their failure rate is no better. If you buy a macbook pro AppleCare is a no brainer, same might go for an iMac. With the price point of a mac mini at 600 or so, it is a difficult decision but we will see if it was the right decision. One issue and it will easily pay for itself.

This is an extended warranty. I think it is a must for laptops. I bought this for my new MacMini and the Amazon price made it worth getting it. You get 3 years of support and peace of mind. Apple support is very good

Recently I purchased a slightly used Mac Mini from a friend whose employer paid for a MacBook Pro (awesome, right?). He did not have AppleCare, but as the Mini was well within its one-year initial warranty, I was able to add it. Amazon provided a great discount, and using the number on the box, online registration with Apple went smoothly.

When buying AppleCare, make sure you get the right one for your Mac's make and model. You can go to the Apple website, Support page, and click the link for Check your Service and Support Coverage. Enter your Mac's serial number (usually laser-engraved on the back or bottom of your Mac) and they'll suggest an appropriate AppleCare policy. Use the policy name to search for a matching AppleCare policy on Amazon.

FYI, Apple will sometimes price match in store; I did this recently for AppleCare on a MacBook Pro of my own. Worth a try, and if they won't, just buy it from Amazon. - Applecare - Mac - Apple Care

Toshiba Laptop Battery - laptop battery, toshiba battery

The battery on my laptop was giving me a whopping 10-12 minutes off electric. If you use a laptop you know how useful that is - not at all. I looked around at local stores and they wanted over $100 for new battery. Someone I know sent me a link to this battery on Amazon. It was a great buy!! I have been using it for a while now and I still get some 2 hours with it. NEW Replacement Lithium-ion Laptop Battery for Toshiba PA3534U-1BRS

I had a little trepidation when I bought it from Amazon, because it wasn't a Toshiba product. However, I'm very satisfied with the way its working. It's giving me over 2 hours of battery time on my laptop, and, is working as advertised.

I was a little skeptical with the price.

I bought two and both work better than the one that came with my computer

one last nearly 5 hours and the other over 3 hours. The original last 2 hours 45 minutes

Ok, At first this battery did not fit probably on my Toshiba A300 perfectly, it needed some power to insert it. I Charging for a long time it reached 96% and stopped !. When i disconnected my laptop from power supply the battery shows 1 minute remaining ? And yes it lasts for one to two minutes to shutdown my laptop.

I used a program "Battery Care" it showed the new battery one the first day has 53% wear level. I removed it several times no changes, but wait it is leaking some fluid.

A very bad quality product, unless it is an international order, It must be returned.

I will never buy cheap battery again

Having to use a power supply with my laptop kinda defeated the purposed. But buying a new battery locally was cost-prohibitive. Enter Amazon with a great price on the right batter and problem solved! Soooo glad I didn't make a trip to the store.

I would always recommend anybody to buy everything from Amazon. They have the best business, guaranteed qualities and best delivery options. This battery is not like the original one but it give you almost the same duty, it last up to 2 and half hours before you recharge it again. - Toshiba Battery - Laptop Batteries - Laptop Battery - Toshiba Laptop

Media Player - media player, streaming

Boxee has addressed some of the concerns I highlighted in my review with firmware updates. Please see the bottom of the review for updates.

-----

Out of the box, the Boxee Box runs the familiar beta version of the software, which is familiar to me as a prior Boxee user. Everything works fine, from what I tested, though the edges of the screen were cut off a tiny bit (not enough to cause a problem). While exploring all the options, I found that a firmware upgrade to version 1.0 of the Boxee software was available. I installed it, the unit rebooted, and it automatically started a quick-and-simple screen calibration utility. That calibration was useful, because the stock firmware had some overscan problems (that is, the edges of the screen were cut off) on my TV.

Version 1.0 brings with it a new, simplified user interface. I immediately had trouble finding my way around, and was a little disappointed that the experience was different than what I was expecting. My main problem with the new interface is that it now takes several more clicks to access local files (that is, anything on your attached drives or home network). That's my stuff, and that's what I primarily want a video player to be able to play. The old interface allowed you to toggle between your videos, and all available videos, very easily, once you understand where the option is. With the default firmware, after a minute of configuration, I was able to select "Shows" from the home screen and see just my shows. Now, I have to use other, more complex and time-consuming methods to do the same thing, such as "Files > Shows" or "Shows > Files".

The new interface does make it easier to start searches (just start typing), and is very attractive. I just would rather that it allow me to put my videos front-and-center. Networked content is fine, but my own content should have primacy over it. I think that new users will not have a problem with the interface, but experienced users should know that changes are in store for you.

Networked Content

I had no problems streaming SD and 720p HD H.264 and DivX files from my NAS to the Boxee Box via my wireless-N network. Internet videos play well, but some Internet video sources are kludgy. Playing a video on Fancast, for instance, will open a web browser, showing the web page and the video in a small box. You have to use the remote to move the mouse cursor to the tiny "full screen" button and click it to get the video to play full screen. Good luck doing that on the couch, 10-20 feet from the TV! This is a big deal because the new Boxee software puts networked content front-and-center, in the "Most Popular" movies and shows pages. It's wonderful to be able to watch (ad-supported) shows that you haven't paid for, but it's a pain that you have to hunt for the full screen button, which looks different on every website, to do so.

Apps, on the other hand, are fantastic. TED and YouTube work exactly as you would expect, and there are dozens more available. Netflix and Hulu Plus apps have been promised; Boxee is working out the arrangements and hope to have these available by the end of the year (early next year for Hulu Plus). I hope for their sake that they do. Competing devices all support Netflix, and Netflix is, in my opinion, one of the most compelling sources for staming content.

Linking your online Boxee account to Twitter and Facebook seems like overkill at first, but it actually is pretty compelling to be able to watch videos that your friends are sharing. The RSS app is great, too. Through the Boxee website, you can subscribe to a whole bunch of video and audio streams (podcasts). Then, you can launch the RSS app and browse through the stream. It's very nice. I don't bother sharing what I watch on TV with my Facebook friends and Twitter followers, though, but I could if I wanted to. I think that if a large number of people I know used Boxee, this would be a lot more useful.

Another quibble I have with the UI is that "Watch Later" queue shows your most recent additions on top, and you can't sort it. To find the next episode of a series you've been watching from the queue, you have to scroll down. If I'm going to the trouble of queuing videos, doesn't that imply that I want to watch them in order, not in reverse order?

Hardware

The unique shape of the box is controversial, but it is very small and you should be able to tuck it away somewhere. The remote uses RF, instead of IR, to communicate with the box. Therefore, unlike most (if not all) of your other components, you don't need a line of sight. I actually decided to put the BoxeeBox behind my TV; I can't even see it, but the controller works perfectly fine! The only thing better would be to have Boxee software integrated directly into my TV.

The box is very capable. Until new video formats arrive on scene, I don't see an immediate need for Boxee or D-Link to refresh the hardware. I just hope they continue to improve the software and make the updates available to the Boxee Box.

Overall Impressions

The hardware is great. The box is small and silent (from across the room at least), the RF remote is fantastic, and the hardware overall is a good value over buying an ATOM/ION nettop and IR remote, and installing Boxee (beta) yourself.

Honestly, Boxee got off on the wrong foot with me for introducing so many changes to its UI at the same time it launched this product. Boxee 1.0 looks great--better than ever, really--but it is so simplified that it now takes extra button presses to get to my own content, and I think that was a bad move. I like the product, though, and will get used to the new interface soon enough.

I still think this is a geeky product that is trying to be usable for non-geeks, and just hasn't gotten all the way there yet. I'm a little disappointed in that, and hope that the software will be updated eventually to make it easier and faster to access both local and online content.

It is difficult for me to rate this product 3 stars, but I think that it just isn't quite up to snuff yet to earn 4 or 5. Some software updates and agreements with content providers could improve the user experience greatly (fix that full screen problem or provide a shortcut, please!). I am eagerly anticipating the Netflix app, and plan to award an additional star once it arrives.

-----

Firmware updates.

11/25/2010 update:

Boxee updated the firmware on Thanksgiving to improve playback issues and stability. This resolved an issue I ran into infrequently (after I wrote my review), in which some local MP4/H.264 files would start playback with sound but no video.

12/13/2010 update:

This is an important update to the user interface!

Boxee updated the firmware to allow users to put local content up front in the "Shows" and "Movies" sections (the top-level, giant icons on the home screen), or to allow online content to take precedence. This is accomplished in the least geeky way possible: After updating the firmware, you are simply sked whether you use the box mostly for local or online content. If you pick "local," the main "Shows" and "Movies" sections default to local content, and online content is buried one level deeper in the menus. You can toggle this preference, and refine it independently for Shows, Movies, and Apps, in Settings > General > Menu. Bravo to Boxee for listening to their users and pushing out this change.

The update also added an hourly scan option for your local content folders, and an icon in the "Local Shows" and "Local Movies" screens that allows you to kick off a rescan immediately. Hourly scanning is a huge upgrade from the daily scanning option, and the new location of the rescan command is a lot easier to get to than it used to be (in Settings > File Sources > [Share Name]).

Boxee also added sorting (A-Z, and Newest First) for Shows and Movies, though, sadly, not in the Watch Later queue. There are also new A-Z lists in the Local Shows and Local Movies sections, to help you browse faster.

There still aren't Netflix or Hulu Plus apps, unfortunately. I think the Boxee Box's UI and playback are shaping up incredibly nicely, though. Now they just need to match their competitors' online content choices.

1/20/2011 update:

Boxee upgraded the firmware to include Vudu support, a new sort option to ignore (if you want to) "A" and "The" when performing a title sort, and various minor fixes. The browser is now much more readable on the TV, and many more online videos open in full-screen. I also discovered a two-click method to put online videos into full-screen if they don't open that way: [menu] > [middle button] (select the double-arrows icon). Vudu's 1080p online movie rental app offers compelling content and great video quality. The Boxee Box still, desperately, needs Netflix and Hulu Plus to catch up with and overtake the competition. Nonetheless, I'm now convinced that this is the best video streamer for local content, and a quality competitor to Google TV and Roku for online content. Netflix should arrive soon; I will award another star then, because then it would be on par with competitors' feature sets.

2/14/2011 update:

After a long wait, and behind schedule (unfortunately), the Netflix app finally arrived on the Boxee Box with this firmware upgrade. The Netflix interface is quick, and the hi-def streaming looks fantastic. Hopefully Hulu Plus will arrive soon. Boxee Box by D-Link - Htpc - High Definition - Media Player - Streaming

Hard Case - hard case, thunderbolt

I actually ordered this case before my Thunderbolt. I probably would have gotten the black one, but it was sold out (looks like this one is now, too). I was hesitant because I'm not big on really colorful cases/phones and I really like to keep bulk down. When I brought home my TB today, I slapped an SG screen protector on it, and this case, and I couldn't be happier. It's a really nice darkish blue, but what you can't tell is that under light, the case has a sort of pearlescent shine to it, like one of those really fancy car paints. Nothing too over the top, I really like it.

Also the amount of bulk this case adds is quite reasonable. For how big this phone already is, it's not much at all, and I'm sure I'll be glad to deal with the extra bulk the first time I butterfinger it. The Thunderbolt fits very snugly in it, but you won't get any scratches because there is a thin layer of felt where it contacts the phone. Definitely recommended! Seidio Innocase II Surface Case for HTC ThunderBolt (Blue)

I was a bit skeptical about buying a $25 phone case without seeing it in person, but I was pleasantly surprised with this case. The fit and finish are superb. If I didn't know better, I would think that it was included by the manufacturer. The soft-touch material feels great in hand and the blue is a stylishly subtle hue. The phone is a bit bulky on its own, so I worried that the case would accentuate the size, but the difference is hardly noticeable. All in all, this is a high quality case that looks, feels and fits great. Paired with a screen protector, this should be all the protection an average user would ever need.

I've always been a fan of Seidio cases (except for the Seidio cases for my Motorola Droids - they constantly broke). This is by far the best Seidio I've used yet. Love the way it goes on the phone (top & bottom), love the protection, the classy blue color as well. But what I really like is how it makes it easier to find the top power button. I found that without the case, my finger would constantly scroll the top of the phone looking for the slight bump the button provided, which was a pain honestly. With the case on, it has a cut out, which makes it MUCH easier to find the top button. As far as previous reviewers (on the black case) that it adds to much bulk, can't use the kick stand, etc. - that's all bull. Kick stand works just as well, just as easy to get to and hardly adds any bulk at all.

Great Case!

This is a sleek and elegant case in a beautiful midnight blue--how fitting for a "thunderbolt" phone! It may be a bit pricey but is well worth the investment towards protection of a high-end phone. I am pleased with this, my first Seidio case, and would not hesitate to purchase more cases made by this company in the future. I just wish they made a similar case for use with the extended battery for this phone, and the same case in a larger variety of colors.

Important: this case is VERY difficult to remove. I strongly recommend that you practice putting it on and taking it off because sooner or later you will need to swap batteries or remove the battery for whatever reason, etc., and you will definitely need to know the best way for you to take off the case.

This case is sturdy and stylish. I just love it. The only downside is if you want the extended battery for your phone, this case won't work. The biggest plus is the HTC Thunderbolt used to slip out of my hands all the time and with this new case, it never does.

This seems like a great case and it popped right on, but then I decided to try taking it off. The instructions are woefully inadequate and it simply will not come off despite following the instructions, searching the internet for help (and there is no "support" link at the seidio site), and working at it for over an hour now. It simply does not come off.

At first I thought this case was just about perfect. but over time dust gets inside the case and has scratched the paint on the edges of my phone. The phones power button and volume rocker button are also hard to press in because the case it too close and raised around them. To fix this i have carved the plastic case down around the buttons. Now i'm going to get a different case because this one has put lots of scratches in my phone.

Like the other reviews said, this case is great! The color is beautiful and the amount of bulk it adds to the phone really is very minimal. The fit is perfect and it looks really sleek. I have not dropped my phone yet, so I can't review on that, but it does seem sturdy enough that it would protect it. This case only goes around the phone itself and does not provide any screen protection. You will need to buy a screen protector if you want your screen protected.

UPDATE 6/6/11: I still stand by my previous review, however, I recently purchased a screen protector and needed to get the case off my phone in order to apply it. It was very difficult to remove this case. It took me about an hour because I read the instructions, watched several youtube videos and read tips in reviews other people had left. Finally, I read one review that recommended heating the case at the seam for about 5 seconds with a hair dryer and then another that said to wait until you hear a click when squeezing the sides and pressing on the logo. That is what worked for me. Try it at your own risk if nothing else works. Still a great case!! - Hard Case - Thunderbolt - Case - Htc

Lcd Tv Wall Mount - articulating wall mount, lcd wall mount

I was planning to make my own TV mount because all the affordable ones were so cheaply made. That was until I stumbled on this one for $25.

Wow, was I surprised when it arrived! Very nicely double-boxed and packaged extremely well. Then the construction is quality all the way, right down to the chrome-plated nuts, screws and bushings. This mount was manufactured and boxed as if it were a high-dollar item.

It only took about 15 minutes to have my 37" LG firmly hanging on the wall. Oh, and I did it all by myself.

I can't comment on the mount-to-TV screws because my LG already provided them. And I did use my own 5/16" flat washers on 2 of the lag screws since none were included, but that's just my preference.

I highly recommend this mount, I would have been happy to pay double for such quality.

Now, as usual, many of the reviews here are misleading:

*Dismiss all reviews that talk about adjacent studs, or difficulties getting screws to grab at an angle. This thing BOLTS TO A SINGLE WALL STUD VERY EASILY! Just like what's shown on the instruction sheet, you simply screw 3 of the lag screws down the center of the mount. That's all that's needed, the other holes are just a bonus for more complicated setups. DO NOT PUT 6 OR 7 LAGS INTO A STUD! You will probably shred or weaken it. Crash goes your TV while ripping a chunk of 2x4 through your drywall.

*Dismiss the reviews that mention short lag screws. They are 2", that's a depth of almost 1 1/2" into the stud after going through 1/2" drywall and the mount. If you drilled roughly 3/16" to 1/4" diameter pilot holes and didn't over-tighten your lags, it should be fine. I've mounted mine twice now, using the same (provided) lags.

*I have no idea where this review came from that complains about an adjustment knob getting in the way. My mount doesn't have any kind of knob on it whatsoever, perhaps they are commenting on a different model. There's a tilt adjustment, but it uses a wrench and doesn't protrude anywhere. The ONLY BAD PART I'VE FOUND is that cheap stamped sheet-metal wrench to tighten the tilt mechanism. No problem, I just used my own 13mm wrench instead.

*Yes, the mount can be somewhat stiff. Like another reviewer stated, just lubricate it. I used a few drops of 3-In-1 Oil in the joints.

*And bad reviews from people who didn't research or check to see if their TV or monitor is VESA compliant. That also includes the ones who didn't check to see if the mounting plate will block off their inputs. The plate is about 8 1/2" square, it shouldn't be that hard to see if you'll have a conflict. Besides, in the description it says, "Please make sure what mount your TV needs before you place order. If you are not sure, please send us a message. We will check for you." So they are giving a nice product bad reviews because they simply didn't read the description.

*Then all the complaints of trying to hold the TV to the mount while installing the screws. If you look at the pictures on Amazon you'll see the center screw hole is a "keyhole".

1. Hold the mount to the wall and mark the 3 hole locations on the wall. On the center keyhole you want to only mark the narrow slot at the top.

2. Drill (3) 3/16" holes.

3. Install center screw into the stud, but leave a small gap between the head and the drywall, you can even use the mount to test whether the slot in the "keyhole" passes behind the head.

4. Lay your TV face-down on a safe place like a mattress or a table with a comforter over it. Place the mount over the back of the TV and install screws.

5. Position the mount so the wall mounting plate is reasonably close to the TV and as close to center as possible, and simply hang it on the wall to the center lag screw through the keyhole. That should help with the weight while you screw the top lag in, then the bottom. Don't tighten anything completely until all 3 screws are in, then make sure it's level or plumb.

That's it. This is an inexpensive, very well built product that solves a simple problem. I'll be ordering more for my PC monitors and future customers ASAP. VideoSecu Articulating TV Wall Mount for 22-37" VESA 200 100 LED LCD TV Monitor Full Motion Bracket Free 6" 3-Axis Magnetic Bubble Level and Free HDMI Cable 3V7

This wall mount is great. It is constructed very well and was easy to install. It looks clean and discreet on the wall and provides virtually 180 degree swivel for my 32 inch TV. It came with all needed hardware to mount to the wall including heavy duty wall anchors for the wall screws that did not hit a wall stud. The only complication was that I had to get the correct bolts for mounting the TV to the mount itself (the product did come with two different size bolts for this purpose but neither was the right size to mount the TV to the bracket). I found the correct bolts very easily at my local hardware store.

After hanging the TV (32 inch BestBuy Insignia - Approx 30 lb. with mounting holes 200 X 200) I am very confident my TV is secure and safe. In addition, the product is very well priced. Local stores wanted $100-$150 for similar mounts. WOW! - Articulating Wall Mount - Lcd Wall Mount - Lcd Tv Wall Mount - Wall Mount

Blackberry Storm Battery - blackberry accessories, battery

i recieved the product in a timely manner. although when i put the battery in my phone it would not accept a charge. After trying to charge the battery for two days with no luck i gave up. ive tried to contact the company and have got no response back. I would advise any one not to buy lthis battery. BlackBerry DX-1 Original Li-Ion Battery for BlackBerry Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Storm 9500 9530 and Storm2 9550

There's a reason why these OEM batteries are so cheap, it's because they've all come from phones that have had some kind of moisture damage and the RED line indicator on the side of the battery is activated. My original OEM battery out of the box is all white, indicating no moisture exposure. Am yet to see how this affects battery life.

I was looking forward to receiving those batteries since the original one in my BB wouldn't last a full day.

I finally received them but my BB Storm 9530 constantly reboots when I put when of those batteries in.

I don't know if there's a compatibility issue or if I got faulty ones but I wouldn't recommand those to anyone...

Item did not arrive after being ordered but contacted seller and got it a few days later. Works as good as the batter that came with the phone and only cost a few dollars (opposed to the $50+ the Verizon store had them priced at)

Update after 6 months of use - battery does not hold a charge well any longer. Still rather pay a couple of dollars every 6 months than $50 for a better battery.

I bought one of these very low priced batteries becauses my year-old battery was not holding a charge for a full day. The battery arrived in a plastic bag, with no way to verify that it was new. I have used it for a couple of days, and it discharges even faster than my original battery.

I received this item about 2 weeks ago and started using it then as my primary battery. I now use my original battery as a backup. Seems like this battery is every bit as good as my original one that came with the phone from Verizon. Charges well, holds a charge well, at least as well as can be expected with a Storm2. :D It appears to be an OEM original, and to one question I saw on another website, it says Made in Japan on it vs. China. I think it is the real deal. - Blackberry Accessories - Battery - Cell Phone Battery - Blackberry
