Ipod Alarm Clock - iphone clock radio, ipod clock radio

First time in ages I've had to read the instructions for a clock step-by-step, but it was oh-so-worth-it. How nice to charge my iPhone on my nightstand and not have to fumble for it in the morning, and even better, to awaken to music of my own choosing! The display is easy to read, the iPhone fits snugly and easily into the dock, and now that I've figured out how it works, it'll be fine. I'll want to keep the instructions on hand, though, for future reference (but the fact that it's not intuitive will help keep it safe from my college-aged daughter who likes to steal everything when she comes home on the weekend). The speakers sound much better than I expected for a clock this size, too--another pleasant surprise. Sony ICF-C05iP Clock Radio for iPod (White)

Sony ICF-C05iP Clock Radio for iPod (White)

My favorite thing about this alarm clock is not the ipod feature which is why I purchased it, but it's the different settings for the display. The display can be bright, dim, dimmer or off with a tap to the snooze button.

I also agree with the first reviewer that it was not and intuitive set-up. I had to refer to the set of instructions for the first time in years!

Ourchased as Christmas gift and went over like gang busters! This is a great IPOD Alarm Clock. Lots of features...has multiple dimmer settings for the display, summer DST button in back (just push and is set for daylight savings time, and they found it fairly easy to set up. They really loved the small footprintof the clock. It is not more than 5" L and 4" W. Very nice and great price!

Awesome look (I've white one) - compact size - works great with iPod 3rd Gen iPhone 3GS - Radio, FM - Alarm and most importantly alarm with ipod/iphone music :) - mornings are melodious !!

I would give 5/5 for the look and size, 3/5 for the sound quality (I'm use to Harman-Kardon), 4/5 for feaatures it has. It lags the AUX input, not able to connect my Samsung Galaxy S using Aux cable :( - probably they could make the driver supporting it......but over all pretty good job by SONY!!

After I finally got an iPod nano, I decided I wanted a radio for it, one that included an alarm. I looked through review after review of models by iHome, RCA, Sony, and others. I didn't want to spend too much money, since I would only use it for the alarm and occasionally as a radio. I have had a Sony CD Clock/Radio for nearly 10 years, and until this past year, it worked great (the CD player finally died, but the clock and radio still work.). I decided to get this model at Christmas, and I have been very pleased with it so far. The sound is surprisingly good for such a small speaker set. I have no trouble setting the alarm to just the song I want, and while some have complained that it is difficult to work initially, I had no problem with it. As long as this little thing works at its current level for a year or two, I will be supremely satisfied with it. I would definitely recommend this to others, and buy another down the road. Works with the latest generation nano, though it is not listed on the specs.

What I like about this alarm clock is that it keeps my iPod charged and ready to go while allowing me to wake to the music I choose. I also appreciate that when the power goes out and comes back on my clock still has the correct time. That said, there are several things about this unit that I do not like.

As with previous reviewers I had to "read the instructions" and they are not intuitive so I too need to continue keeping the instructions near the clock.

I was initially drawn by the bright or less bright feature of the display but the reality is that I simply can't read this clock - at any brightness - without my glasses on at night - a problem I did not have when I was using a colored LCD display. It may simply be that this clock is not for folks with astigmatism. For those without eyesight difficulties this should present no problem.

I bought this radio for my bathroom because it was small, had a clock, and had a dock for my IPod. I was so pleasantly surprised that I could actually use the radio. We live in a rural area about 40 minutes away from the radio stations we can listen to. There is no radio in our house that can get good reception from any of these stations. I didn't expect this radio to be any different and was just planning on listening to my IPod. This radio gets great reception and now I mainly listen to the radio stations on it. I would definitely recommend this radio.

The little (in shelf space) clock/radio is a great buy, as value for price. The sound is very good for the small speaker, the dial light dims completely. There are more than enough station memories, but setting them up is a little tiring. There are just two iPod inserts/adapters and none fits the iPod video 5G (which you have to use without an adapter and becomes sort of loose). It's a good buy and I'd recommend it if you don't care for total hi-fi.

The battery that came with the clock appears to be dead, or that function doesn't work - I don't know because I'm too lazy to go find a new battery for it since it's one of those flat ones. (AAA would have been nice!) Also, for some reason I didn't even think to check to make sure this was a feature until I got the clock, but you can not set the day/s of the week for the alarm to go off and also there is only one alarm. Besides that - this little clock has been great. Just the right size, loud alarm, dimmable display, iPhone 3GS dock...it's great. - Iphone Clock Radio - Clock Radio - Ipod Alarm Clock - Ipod Clock Radio

Alarm Clock - ipod dock, docking stations

Got this for my son to use with his iPod touch. The first unit worked as a clock radio, but would not connect with the iPod at all. After a quick and painless replacement from Amazon, the replacement unit worked fine with the iPod - for about 6 months. Now it's doing the same thing as the first one, refusing to charge or play from the iPod.

Once is a fluke, but twice is a pattern. It's too late to return it to Amazon, and I don't want to spend about half the original purchase price to ship it to the manufacturer, just to get another potentially defective unit. I'm going to write this one off and look for another alternative with better reviews. iLive Large Display Clock Radio with Docking and Recharging for iPod (Black)

The clock has adapters for several model IPOD models, it charges the IPOD, it integrates the IPOD to all its functions,(alarm, sleep etc.) and to boot, the radio part of it gets good reception. It is a good solid product.

I thought the price was a good value for my sister and I. I am enjoying it very much at work. It is just the right size for my desk and loud enough if need be and I can use my headphone also. So I am in seventh heaven and thanks for having items everyone would like.

Almost everybody who sells an iPod/iPhone compatible accessory has been infected by Apple pride in their products, i.e. high cost. But this is one of the better values. The sound quality isn't great, but it's not bad--after all it's just a clock radio at heart. The controls are well placed and intuitive. I got it because I can't stand the omnipresent blue lights on every other iPod docking unit illuminating my bedroom like an airport runway. The unit's display is amber and has a hi/lo switch. It charges the iPod family and allows a significant degree of iPod functionality while docked. The only real quirk is the alarm. When set to awake to the radio, if I don't turn it off after a minute or so, the alarm buzzer gradually comes up in the background. Maybe that was intended, because it sure works to get me out of bed.

UPDATE: When I got my long-awaited Verizon iPhone 4, I wondered whether I'd have to give up the convenience of charging it bedside and use the included cord somewhere else. Not to worry. When I plugged in the phone I got a message on the screen indicating the accessory was "not optomized" for the iPhone and that I may experience some loss of signal strength. I didn't notice any loss of bars in the corner and the phone charges perfectly with no other issues. I lucked out.

Maybe I was just unlucky but I got a unit that had faulty display segments so I couldn't really tell the time. The clock resets if you remove the mains power EVEN if the backup battery (at least that's what I thought it was for) is installed. I guess it works fine with an iPod BUT if you have an iPhone, this is not at all a good choice. The phone even warns "this accessory is not compatible" and ask you to switch to airplane mode effectively turning off all phone functions. If you don't, it makes horrible interference noises in the middle of the night even if you turn the volume down to zero. The controls still work to play back and stop music but there is no visual indication as to what is going on (let alone what is playing etc). The radio is very primitive with a dial (no digital search). The sound quality of the speakers is just like what you would expect from a toy or cheap radio you had in the 80s.

The only good thing I can say is it takes in many types of iPod models via multiple docking plates that it comes with, and without any, you can even connect one that has a cover (some docking devices can only take plain iPods without any cover around it)

Overall, you get what you pay for, but given the not entirely bargain price it's not worth it IMO.

i got this alarm clock for my iphone since it's pictured on the amazon listing AND the box it came in.

it does NOT work with iphone, you cannot play music with your iphone because the radio waves and the phone waves interfere and create an irritating, high-pitched static noise. - Ipod Alarm Clock - Ipod Dock - Docking Stations - Clock Radio

Panasonic Portable Dvd Player - panasonic, dvd player

I picked this up after briefly reviewing the competition's specs. When you are shopping for a portable DVD player, the features you essentially want to pay attention to are screen size, picture quality, and battery life. If you are burning your own DVDs or playing certain styles of downloaded content you'll also want to pay attention to the format capabilities.

I finally decided on this device because it advertised 13 hour battery life and I was flying to Europe (a 9 hour flight from WA State). I was also going to be tossing it in a backpack and going. The folding design seemed like a logical choice to protect the screen with the applicable rough use.

Here's what I found, hope it helps you make an informed decision!

Pros:

- Design is elegant and fairly durable.

- Sound quality was surprisingly great.

- Controls were pretty intuitive.

- A/V cable was included accessory.

- Saves your place and starts up right from where you left off.

Cons:

- Though I didn't expect the full 13hrs battery life, it's more like 5-6 with a reasonable backlight level. Less without headphones.

- Picture quality is not comparable to competing devices like Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black.

- The buttons are awkwardly placed and easy to accidentally press when lifting or resituating the device.

Preference:

- I don't really think a remote is necessary for this style of electronic but some may find the lack of remote a drawback.

- The folding design can be a bit bulky for coach seating on a plane. It would have been nice if the screen could flip all the way over into a tablet design like this device does: Sony DVPFX810 8-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black

About Traveling with Portable DVD Players:

If you are traveling internationally and plan on buying DVDs when you arrive instead of bringing them with you... you'll want to remember that this device only plays Region 1 DVDs. DVDs from Europe are Region 2. Mexico, Central and South America, Australia and New Zeland are Region 4. Russia, much of Asia, and South Africa are region 5. In all, this means that you can only play DVDs from the region you buy the device from. There are some ways around this to my understanding but as a matter of convenience you may just want to purchase a player from the region you'll use content from. You can find more about DVD regions at:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3193231

Looking back on this purchase, I'll probably opt for my iPhone/iPod or one of the following devices in the future...

Sony DVPFX810 8-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black

Sony DVP-FX930 9-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black

And Panasonic also offers a portable Blu Ray Disc Player for those of you who have gone Blu. Battery life is a bit limited and to be honest when I saw it I was thinking that Blu Ray wasn't really meant for a screen this small. That being said, it works in a pinch if your library is now primarily BRD...

Panasonic DMP-B15 Portable Bluray Player

This review was made August 2009 so check for newer options if you're reading this in the future =).

Hope this helps! Panasonic DVD-LS86 8.5-Inch Portable DVD Player

I originally purchased the predecessor to this unit, the DVD-LS82. When it worked, I was happy, even if the speakers were a bit soft at full volume on my nightstand. Even after repairs at the Panasonic depot, however, mine was EXTREMELY sensitive to the faintest disc imperfections that my other DVD players ignored. When I returned it to Amazon, per Panasonic's instructions, it was no longer for sale by Amazon. So, I ordered the DVD-LS86.

The only differences between the 2 units are that the earlier incarnation was silver, came packaged with a car kit, and had an advertised battery life 1 hour shorter. The newer unit, while initially offered at the identical price, is, as I write this, now offered at enough of a discount to almost buy your own car kit, if you choose.

The operating manual states that the battery on this unit recharges in 7 hours, when turned off, at 68 degrees F. When I brought my brand new battery up to full charge, it took barely longer than that.

What most people will be interested in is the battery endurance when playing it. Again, according to the manual, this unit will play (always assuming using headphones) for 13 hours at a brightness level of -5. This translates to noticeably dimmer than "Moonlight" mode; unless you're an avid spelunker/movie buff with severe photophobia, it's reminiscent of bright moonlight through welder's goggles. I actually have photophobia (and welder's goggles), and I couldn't stand -5 in my darkened room at night. "Moonlight," which translates to about "-3," however, was fine.

At a brightness level of "0," the manual states that battery life drops to 7 hours; that's about what I suspect most users would compromise for in the trade-off between visibility and battery life during the day. "0" is noticeably brighter than "Moonlight." I tolerated "Moonlight" in a brightly lit indoor location to extend the battery life; it's rather like watching a film in a discount, second-run theater that turns the projector brightness down to conserve the bulb life.

Finally, the manual states a battery life of 5 hours with the bightness on "5." If you use the "Daylight" setting, you get an even slightly brighter picture than that; so, if you choose the "Daylight" setting, you'll get the most vivid picture, but the battery life will suffer even more. You might need this if you want to watch movies on a sunny day at the beach-- if you go to the beach to watch movies.

Personally, I thought it would be easy to scratch a disc on the steel portion of the housing around the lense or bend the disc a bit too much when removing it from this family of units. I wish that they'd design a release mechanism that caused the machine to let go of the disc at least as easily as most cases. I managed to avoid scratching any discs; but, I was uncomfortable seeing the discs bend. I, therefore, wouldn't recommend leaving it to children to change the discs, particularly if the unit is as sensitive to micro-scratches as my DVD-LS82 was.

Sadly, my love of Panasonic products has been, in the case of portable DVD players, so far, unrequited. My DVD-LS86 has a habit of turning itself off at random intervals when using the a/c adaptor. I can't believe that this is a universal product feature, so, I'm exchanging mine for a new one. I hope that the replacement will finally live up to its promise. - Dvd Player - Portable Dvd Players - Battery Life - Panasonic

fake security camera - fake security camera, dummy security camera

This dummy camera costs a bit more than some other cheaper dummy camera but it's worth it. It's look very realistic. I have other real camera look just like this. It uses two AA batteries and the LED red light blinks every second. I just installed them a week ago and don't know how long the battery is going to last. The whole housing is made of plastic but sturdy enough. The base and leg are metal. Installation is very easy. SecurityMan SM-3601S Dummy Indoor Camera with LED (Silver)

Well let's face it...this is meant to be a fake camera and it does a very good job of that. Unless you're a criminal expert in security systems you can't tell this from the real thing. The front is filled with fake LED's, one of which blinks red all the time. The whole package is nicely made and very convincing.

Pros: Purchased two of these faux cams and placed them in our business as a deterent. One is up front towards window, the other, by the rear door. They are very realistic and seem to be doing their intended job. The flashing red light adds a nice touch. Super easy installation.

Cons: The video surveillance stickers that came with the cams faded in less than one week.

At a glance it looks like the real thing...my intention was to discourage someone looking into the entry way of the building and have them move on to another location and I think it will work. The name "Security Man" is a little hokey but hopefully they won't get close enough to examine. Easy to install.

I installed this camera at my beach house and was very pleased. Looks real and is nicely made. The one complaint is that the position locking mechanism does not work as well as it should in that you have to really over-tighten to get it to hold the camera in position.

It does the job. We have real cameras on premises, but my husband & I were looking for a little extra security. The faux camera works great, looks realistic & is more reasonably priced than others on the market. For anything more realistic, you should considering purchasing a real camera.

not sure what the other reviewers got but the camera I received was plastic and looked like a toy (LESS THAN 6 INCHES)....If your buying something to deceive a 6 yr old great, but one look at this and you will laugh, if it wasn't so cheap I would be mad...buyer beware - Dummy Security Camera - Fake Security Camera - Simulated Cameras - Imitation Security Camera

Camera Memory - class 10, 32gb

We bought this memory card after reading ratings and reviews with the intent of using it for family functions and our kids' sports events. It as been used almost weekly, and sometimes daily, since April 2010, so about 6 months. It has been flawless until recently, when the little locking clip broke off. We taped the location so the card could be read and written on, which has worked just fine. We will certainly purchase this product again if ever needed. Sandisk 32 GB Extreme SDHC Cards (SDSDX3-032G-A31)

This is probably the best SD card you can get. Yes, it is very pricey, but worth the money. Keeps all the quality in my photos and videos, and loads onto my computer very fast. I use a Canon Rebel T3i, and film on the highest quality, 1080p. I can get over 2 hours of filming on this card, at the highest quality. Highly recommend.

This review is more for the seller than the product. I wasn't able to utilize this product in my Canon Vixia HFS10 camera due to its Class 10 feature. My HD camera requires a Class 4 or Class 6 camera and the highest resolution video isn't compatible with Class 10 SDHC cards. It is unfortunate that Canon's cameras aren't up to date with the abilities of the Class 10. When I purchased the product and realized it wouldn't work for my camera, I contacted the seller Digital Media Source via email and explained my situation. There was a quick response and I was able to return the product for a refund/exchange. I was happy with the customer service that I received.

Although still a bit pricey...excellant read/write speeds. I use these discs for wedding videography! I higly recommend them. There is also data recovery software incase you lose some or all of your data, although I've never had any failures with these discs. Hopefully the price will continue to come down so I can buy a bunch more! - Class 10 - 32gb - Sandisk - Sdhc

Rechargeable Batteries - wireless keyboard, logitech

I used to have the Dinovo Laptop Wireless keyboard but it gave up the ghost when several keys just stopped functioning all of a sudden--way too soon!

This keyboard is an improvement over the Dinovo Wireless Laptop KB in that the space bar now registers clicks from the **side**--which the Dinovo wouldn't register.

In addition the K800 lets you into the Bios/Setup of your desktop--a first for me with wireless KB. GREAT!

In terms of battery life, it has generic 2 AA NIMH 2000mah Made in China ("Designed in Japan") "low discharge" rechargeable batteries. The compartment in the back has a screw and you're allowed to put your own batteries back there if you want. Among battery brands, I'm partial to the fantastic "new and improved" Sanyo Eneloop rechargeables for their **great** low discharge (retains 75% discharge after 3 years). You can also put AA Duracells if it suits your mood instead of rechargeables. Two alkalines should last a long time (as long as you don't overuse the backlight, of course) as Logitech wireless KBs historically do really great with batteries. The great thing is that this KB allows you to put whatever battery that suits you! The KB also has a battery dial to always let you know how much battery you have left.

The recharging can be done via the yard-long USB cable which you can plug into the computer, or for faster charging, I plug it into the USB power adapter from one of my devices (Android smartphone, Kindle, etc) and continue using it wirelessly.

In terms of KB lighting, the system allows you to adjust the light level at 25% intervals or inhibit the light altogether until when you really need it. I rarely game or use the KB in the dark but it's nice to have this option for the odd time I need the KB lit. Of course, using the light will eat up battery life, but the software allows you to customize how long it should stay on (i.e. 10 sec, 1 minute, etc).....Very customizable.

The KB feel is latopish, but not as silent as my Macbook pro. The spacebar clacks a bit more than the other keys but not annoyingly so and really no different than most KBs out there (unfortunate, IMHO). This is more a pet peeve of mine than an actual real problem, BTW.

The wireless connection is great. All keystrokes are registered, unlike my Dinovo that was MUCH MORE hit and miss.

The build quality is solid and the keys feel that they will last from popping out. Hopefully, certain keys won't electronically die on me within the year, as they did with my Dinovo (Logitech Customer Service took care of me though!)

The keyboard should do fine gaming wired...or even wireless as the reception is very solid. Reception can be made even more robust by attaching the *SECOND* included yard-long USB cable (with a female end this time, to tie-in the detachable micro-receptor) which allows you to extend this tiny receptor module all the way to your desk, and if you wish, you can attach it more securely with some velcro stickies that you can buy at Home Depot, etc.

I have no problems recommending this KB as it gives you options of wired or wireless with great battery life that can be improved with better Eneloop batteries or alkalines, and a bright light function (sensitive to your hand gesture) that can be toyed with to suit your needs. The FLEXIBILITY of this KB is why you're paying the premium, though I do think it's overpriced a bit (and thus why I knocked a star off from a perfect 5)!... Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800

I am one of those rare users with a 1080p projector hooked up to a high end gaming PC that also does Blu Ray movies and TV-DVR. I needed a wireless keyboard with VERY good range, backlit keys, no lag on keystroke, works in BIOS Setup, good battery life and does not drop (needing re-connection). I can VERY happily say that this is the ONLY keyboard I have found that does every one of those items very well! I have personally tested around 15 different wireless keyboard trying to find what this one does.

When I'm doing 3D Gaming on my projector every one of those features except working in BIOS is a must. Bluetooth keyboards drop off constantly, and have lag. Some don't even have good range. Infrared does not have any range. Most other wireless radio frequency keyboards are not backlit. Problems, problems problems. This one is the real deal. I would have paid up to $300 for this keyboard in my setup, but luckily, I didn't have to.

In case you are wondering, the killer mouse I use for my setup is the Mamba Razor. Perfect in every way except 2-issues. When the mouse is turned off, and docked to the recharge port, movement wakes the PC. The other issue with the Mamba Razor is I have noticed it having intermittent lagging after a few hours of gaming. Not yet sure why.

I was waiting eagerly for this keyboard (was using the MX5500 before this) - just because this keyboard had the soft-click (or whatever they called it) keys. (I didn't even wait for this to show up on amazon - ordered it the day it was released from manufacturer's website)

I've used the Logitech Illuminated KB (wired) and it works just as awesome as well. I just wanted to get a wireless one this time.

The battery - WOW! I was plesantly surprised. I got this exactly a month ago - used it 9 hours every business day (I turn off the backlight as soon as I turn the PC on - so I'm sure that contributes to the battery life), but my battery indicator is still indicating full charge.

My only complaint is that the price of $100 is a little too much for this.

It is VERY difficult to type quickly and for long passages with this keyboard. The rounded keys make it easier to miss a key. Also, the pressure required to press each key, greatly slows my typing down and is much more fatiguing. It almost feels like you have to double press the key, which may be a factor of having to press harder than other keyboards. The combination of these characteristics, greatly increases my mistakes. In addition, the sound of the keys is 'thunk-y', not quiet at all.

At work I can type many paragraphs before my hands become tired. With this keyboard, I only type a few sentences before I need to shake my hands out. This keyboard is ok for surfing, but not for real work.

Aesthetically, it lacks the very clean lines which I prefer - probably because of the rounded keys.

-must shake out hands now, for the 3rd time. - Wireless - Logitech Illuminated Keyboard - Wireless Keyboard - Logitech

Iphone Lcd Replacement 3g - iphone screen repair, 3gs

Replacing my broken glass was a breeze with this kit. Any debating between this and the cheaper glass-only kits should stop hesitating and put out the extra money. Your spending will be rewarded with reduced effort, pain and suffering.

After breaking the glass on my 3Gs, I was shocked at the sticker price of Apple's repair. I found a variety of kits online to replace just the glass and ordered a pricey one, understanding it came with the digitizer. I was wrong, and in forging ahead with the repair I botched it. Using hot air guns to remove the digitizer from the old glass warped the plastic and my work ripped the rubber gasket off of the frame. The replacement glass was unsatisfactory as well, and in piecing everything back together I punctured a ribbon cable which deactivated 10% of my touch screen. What a failure.

I searched some more and found this seller on Amazon as the most affordable way to get a replacement glass with the digitizer already attached. This significantly reduces the skill and effort required to replace broken glass if you have a fully functional LCD. Remove eight screws, three ribbon cables, and carefully separate your LCD from the side rails before reversing the order and reassembling. PLEASE use GOOD guides on the web as a basis for your work.

My biggest challenge was keeping dust out of the space between the digitizer and the screen. It took four attempts at seating the screen before I was dust free and satisfied, so be patient. The cloth supplied in the kit was less useful than another microfiber cloth I already use for my eyeglasses as the kit cloth added dust as it removed others.

Nonetheless I am completely satisfied with the result so far, and have a beautiful screen with a fully functional digitizer. iPhone 3gS Screen Repair Kit : Apple iPhone 3gS Lcd Glass Screen Cover with Touch Screen Digitizer, Frame, Home Flex Button, Ear Speaker and Tool

This is good product but it doesn't have proximity sensor. Proximity sensor is what make the screen off when we make phone call. This is important because without proximity sensor when call me made, touchcreen remains active and you may *press* mute button inadvertently.

This company was to be sending me the 3gs screen as the item is labeled as on amazon. When I recieved the product it was for the regular 3g. When I requested a refund or the correct product the company informed me they don't offer it Goethe 3gs (even though that's what they listed it on amazon as). Once shipping it back I did get a refund but was not refunded for ANY of the shipping costs, only the product itself. Very disappointed with my experience with this company.

The screen was pretty easy to replace and took about thirty minutes. I had to open it back up to get the connections firmly set. When I did the glass separated from the frame :(. This is definitely not OEM parts but I was looking for a cheap fix and understood they weren't. Like other reviewers mentioned the glass does not have the special coating, home button is not as crisp, and the proximity sensor is not included. If these are concerns of yours then this may not be the best option. My wife's phone works and she is fine with these issues since we're waiting on the iPhone 5. The kit did come with the tools and these worked well. Happy fixing!

***Added fourth star due to the proximity sensor actually working. Still very happy with replacement.

Cant tell you how excited I was to make my broken IPhone a normal phone that I would be willing to take out in public again without cringing at its disappointingly cracked screen. As with most customers who are trying to save a significant amount of money by doing this fix themselves, this seemed like to easiest and most feasible option. It only took me about 20 minutes to get it taken apart and another few to get it put back together. I connected the three cables and firmly set the screen back into the bezel. Looked brand new and I was exceedingly happy to see my phone whole once again....until I tried to use it. Home button worked fine, and even unlock slidebar worked well, then when I tried to put my passcode in I pressed the 3 and the 1 illuminated. I pressed the 4 and it lit up correctly. I must have taken it apart and put it back together 4 or 5 times and got the same result everytime. What was more frustrating is that my (at that point) screenless phone was ringing the whole time I was trying this and I had no way of answering it. I looked at the original cables and two out of three were exactly the same, the third, I assume the one that connects the digitizer to the phone did not want clip in securely or stay in place. Even when I carefully lifted the screen and slid my finger under to press it into place as hard as reasonably possible it would not work correctly. After examining the the broken screen connectors and the new ones, I could see that it was ever so slightly different. The original digitizer connector has a black plastic strip going down the middle, and the new one was all metal, probably accounting for the crossed signals. Sooooooooo close, but in the end I had to put on the old broken screen just to be able to use my phone. Not a satisfied customer.

I smashed my iphone screen on the parking lot ground, I was hesitant to buy a new screen, as last time I purchased one i damaged my LCD. This pre-installed screen had the whole top (excluding the LCD) that was particularly easy to install. If you have never done this before, I would suggest finding a good website to show you how to remove the screen. the only complaints I have from this kit: 1) The kit did not come with online instructions or a website of how to install the product. 2) the phillips screwdriver that was sent with my kit did not fit the screws, luckily I already had a few laying around. Some things that I liked about the kit: 1) the kit came in two days flat, so my iphone screen was only broken for 2 days. 2) the whole piece is already pre-installed and not as difficult to install like if you were only installing the glass part (which is a waste of your time btw, might as well buy this part instead of stripping the iphone frame).

for those of you who do follow directions off the internet: WARNING: when removing the LCD screen DO NOT pry the LCD from the bottom like the you tube video shows, this will damage your LCD screen and then you will have to buy a new one!

Ipad Screen Protector - screen protector, ipad accessory

As an iTouch owner, I had used a clear screen protector with generally good results, although there were a very few bubbles that weren't really a distraction once the device was in use.

I had pre-ordered an iPad on the first day that they became available to order and knew that with the much larger screen, I would definitely need a screen protector.

My iPad arrived today (April 3rd) and I immediately attempted to install one of the three "Premium Crystal Clear Screen Protectors" as son as I removed the iPad from its box.

The method of installation was basically the same as for the iTouch screen protector that I had previously used. First you peel off one side of the backing with a tab. You then place the screen onto the iPad screen, trying to do so without leaving a lot of bubbles. I tried as best I could to align the screen hole over the iPad button and then slowly applied the rest of the screen moving from bottom to top. Unfortunately after applying the screen and then removing the outside of the clear screen with the other tab, I was left with a LOT of bubbles.

Hoping to do better I repeated the process using the second of the supplied screens. My efforts the second time were a bit better in terms of a smaller amount of bubbles, but then I noticed a piece of yellow lint that had been left by the supplied yellow cleaning cloth that I had used to wipe the iPad screen. When I tried to remove the lint with the cloth and replaced the clear screen back onto the iPad screen, there was a noticeable smudge.

I was now down to the last of the three supplied screens and repeated the process again except this time I discovered that when applying the clear screen to the iPad screen DIAGONALLY starting from the bottom and moving toward the top, you can do so leaving almost no bubbles at all. You will also need to be make certain that the sides of the clear screen and the iPad screen are aligned exactly or you will be left with a long bubble down most of one side.

After going through all of this trial and error, I was finally able to have a clear screen in acceptable condition with only a few bubbles. I only hope that readers of this review will learn from my own initial difficulties and not have to use all three of the supplied screens before arriving at a satisfactory result. 3 Pack of Premium Crystal Clear Screen Protectors for Apple iPad

This product works great once you figure out how it works.

At first glance it looks like 2 pieces stuck together that you have to pull apart.

It then appears that you should apply the thin one to your iPad. wrong.

The thicker side still has an invisible piece stuck to it.

You apply the thicker piece smoothly over your ipad and then squeeze out the few bubbles you see.

rub the whole face now to get the invisible layer to stick.

You then Peel Off the thick piece and you will see that another layer is present on your iPad.

This would have been nice to include as instructions but no instructions came with the product.

I would say that is pretty rude considering you cannot even see the piece that will be used.

So I bought the pack of 3 and got my last one to work. I figured it out on #2, #3 was perfect.

I've read most of the reviews for this product and it seems like the complaints revolve around installation. I too went through two before setting the last one down perfectly with virtually no bubbles. Start at the top and make sure the paper tab lettering is facing the iPad. Pull slowly from underneath and you will see that it lays is self down virtually with no bubbles. I just purchased a second set so I have them ready for when I damage the one I just installed.

I've applied this type of screen protector in the past (on my iPod Touch, Nintendo DS / DSi, and my PSP). Using the tips below, I was able to apply this LCD screen protector 99% bubble free. I was actually pleasantly surprised I was able to do this since it was by far the largest screen protector I've ever applied.

The instructions that come with the package are not very helpful. Below are mine. Hope they help.

INSTRUCTIONS / TIPS

====================

1) CLEAN the surface of your iPad. Use a microfiber cloth and even use a compressed air can if you want to be sure. Position yourself or a light so that you would be able to see ANY specs. Any leftover specs will raise the screen protector and will give you a bubble that you CANNOT remove. Keep the iPad's screen OFF so you have a better chance of seeing any specks.

2) First remove the plastic envelope/pouch that directly contains the screen protector.

3) Without removing and of the backing, place the screen protector with the hole over the iPad's circle button. Now you know exactly how much leeway you will have.

Also make sure that the circle is popped out of the screen protector.

4) Find something flexible and semi-rigid to push away the air bubbles. You WILL be getting air bubbles as you apply the screen protector. The trick will be to remove them as you apply the screen protector. With smaller screen protectors, I've used credit cards. But in this case, the screen is bigger. I've found that the plastic Staples cards you get in the mail (the ones that the size of postcards) are very helpful for this task. Your second choice may be a credit card or the very thin, plastic window of a cheap picture frame. Whatever you use, make sure it has a sizable straight edge and no sharp corners (You don't want to puncture the screen protector).

6) Peel away a corner of the backing (The side labeled #1). Don't peel the whole backing off. You'll need to touch the backing in order to reposition the screen protector if necessary.

7) Continue to peel the backing but keep it minimal. You want just enough so that you can position the hole over the circle button. If you don't get it the 1st time, remove from the iPad's surface as little as possible and try again. Be careful to avoid getting any dust on the iPad's screen at this time. This is why it's good to keep as much backing on as possible.

8) After you have adequately centered the hole around the circle button, begin to slowly peel the Side 1 Backing while you use your flexible card to push away any air bubbles. Push the bubbles to the EDGE of the screen protector. If there are bubbles that are difficult to get rid of and if you're certain that's it just a bubble and not caused by specks, then you can gently remove as much backing as needed from the iPad's screen and try again. TAKE YOUR TIME.

9) Hopefully you've managed to attach the screen protector with minimal bubbles. Continue to push away as many bubbles as possible.

10) Now you need to peel of Side 2 Backing. But since the screen protector is already attached to your iPad screen, you will need to be VERY careful and slow. It's possible that the quick removal of Side 2 Backing can lift the screen protector off of the iPad screen and cause air bubbles. If there are air bubbles, use the flexible card to push away any air bubbles.

That's it, you're done. Sit back and treat yourself to a new app.

CONCLUSION

==========

I liked the fact that it includes 3 screen protectors. I was able to succeed with my first one but it's nice to know that there are backups.

I didn't like the minimal instructions with the package (and the Engrish spellings). This item is very cheap. If it were more expensive, I would expect to get a flexible plastic card for getting rid of the air bubbles.

The screen protector itself has a slightly oily residue. When your iPad is off, you can see it. The residue is not visible when the iPad is turned on. - Screen Protector - Ipad Accessory - Screen Protectors - Ipad

Usb Sound Card - sound card, usb

Amazon won't update the listing on this item, but the "Microphone Jack" is a joke at best. Most microphones require "plug-in power", a small amount of power from the jack that amplifies the signal. This does not provide any power. What that means is that most PC microphones won't work, and those that do will be at a low volume with high noise. The sound outputs seem to work fine, but the mic input is a waste of space and money. It will probably work if you use a microphone is self-powered, but not very versatile. that Don't buy it!

Griffin Technology 9066-IMIC2 iMic/USB Audio Interface

This product is vastly superior, and supplies phantom power. Get it instead. External 5.1 USB 3D Audio Sound Card Adapter for PC Desktop Notebook Laptop

I picked this up to try to use it as an auxilliary sound device for my Macs after my iMic died; I figured that if it didn't work, I wouldn't be out much. But it works very well; plug it in and it's recognized, without any driver installation. The out-bound sound quality seems very good. All in all, you can't beat the performance for the price.

I won't beat around the bush, this is a terrible product. I was looking for something to allow Mic level recordings on my computer (Macbook Pro) and I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money on an iMic. I found this remarkably cheaper device, and decided to try it instead. When I got it, the first thing I thought upon seeing the packaging was how un-professional it looked. The box looks like something someone printed off their computer, and it even had spelling errors on it. When I popped the device out of the box it came apart in my hand. Right then I knew I had made a mistake. It comes with a minidisc that 1. doesn't fit in a mac, and 2. only had PC software on it. Of course the box and the product page don't say what platform this device is for, and indeed my Mac did recognize it when plugged in. However, when I switched over to USB audio out, my ears were nearly blown out. There was absolutely no way to control the volume. Upon plugging in a Mic, I found the device didn't even respond The audio in channel lights up half way as though it's picking up some signal, but it doesn't make a sound (tested with Line In and Garage Band and no response). This is a shoddy, unprofessional product that should be avoided at all cost. Don't be cheap, I'm sure the iMic is loads better.

I wanted this for both listening and mic usage. For simply listening, its okay, but for use with the mic it is unacceptable. It creates a dreadful amount of high pitched noise. I've tried a variety of configurations but so far without success.

I picked this unit up to provide sound and mic for an ear boom headset to take with me in my laptop bag so I can use my Skype line. I have an acer gemstone that I picked up a year ago at a Walmart doorbuster special, and the built in mic never worked. I was a little nervous purchasing this product, given the reviews, but the price was right so I gave it a chance.

Wow, what a refreshing surprise this turned out to be! I plugged in the boom headset, plugged the unit into the USB port of my Ubuntu 8.10 laptop, it showed up automatically in the volume control, adjusted the mixer settings a bit, and it worked perfectly. The sound going into the mono earpiece was perfect, and everyone I've talked to over my Skype line has said I sound crystal clear, like on a real phone, or at least a decent cell connection.

I would recommend this to anyone looking to do Skype or voice over IP. Its always best to have a separate sound system when doing VOIP, as your primary sound typically interferes with your reception. This is an awesome solution to the second sound card problem, its ultra portable, has perfectly crisp sound with no interference

For what I was using it for worked great, but what about music? I reconfigured the sound server to use the little device to play back music, and wow, amazing sound came out of the headphones! This unit can more than replace your current sound system. It even seemed to provide more backbone to the music than the internal HDA sound built into my laptop.

So for doing VOIP, or replacing a sound card that just isn't working for you, or providing sound to a machine that lacks it, this little unit is for you. It works 110% for me on Ubuntu 8.10.

I broke the headphone jack on my laptop, and to get it fixed would cost me hundreds because it's part of the motherboard. So i got this and it works fine for my headphones or external speakers. It uses its own sound card which is pretty decent. My internal sound card is pretty basic itself anyway. I don't use the microphone function so i cant comment on that.

Easy plug and play mini microphone. As I got tired of hooking up a mic on a stand or putting a headset on this little guy conveniently plugs into one of my USB ports and I forget about it - nothing that dangles or flops around. The sound quality is very nice and volume easily adjustable. One of the reviews here have been negative but there are two products - one is a mic and the other a playback only device which I have not tried.

For speakers or headset this produces an acceptable sound. However, the speaker input produces low volume fuzzy and crackly noise. I tried in two PC's running XP and Vista with the same results. Plug the same mike into the rear input jacks and the mike works fine. If you need to use just the speaker output on this it works fine. I bought it to use for Skype, but it is useless for that.

This USB mic input and audio output appears to have promise, but the audio output level is too strong for headphones and it generates electrical noise from the USB.

Apparently, they could not decide between driving headphones or speakers, so they picked speakers and that means the volume level must be turned almost all the way down so it does not hurt your ears when good headphones are used. The audio output quality seems very muddy.

I bought this because my MacBook Pro does not have a mic amplifier, but when the device is plugged into the USB, electrical noise, a continuous buzz and click, is picked up by my headphones. The noise occurs even when my headphones are plugged into a different audio out and the volume is turned all the way down, so the interference is probably electromagnetic noise.

I don't know if this noise problem occurs on other laptops, but the device is in an unshielded, un-grounded plastic case, and that is a recipie for electromagnetic interference.

The "3D Sound" hype is a marketing gimmick since the outputs are still only stereo. - Usb - Sound Card - Sound - Junk

Undercabinet Cd-radio - coby, cd player

This item arrived 2 days ago and I'm already returning it. Two big problems right off the bat:

1). The mounting kit is ONLY for cabinets with flush bottoms to them. If you have a normal kitchen cabinet with any amount of trim around the bottom edge, you will not be able to mount this unit. Coby customer service was surprised that this wasn't included in the description on Amazon. So, if your cabinets are not flush at the bottom, look elsewhere for an under-cabinet CD player.

2). The description here says that this unit has a digital AM/FM radio. The radio is actually analog. (Who even makes analog radio tuners these days!) It was a royal pain to find any of our main radio stations when I tested the unit.

I only tested the CD player briefly, but it worked well and had okay sound quality (wasn't expecting the best quality for $35). It took a few minutes to figure out how to set the clock, alarm, etc. because the little owner's manual is worthless. Calling Coby customer service on a Monday morning took 10-15 minutes on hold and another 5 minutes to get the service rep to stop asking for my personal information, listen to my question, and put me back on hold again. Wasn't too impressed.

If anyone knows of an under-cabinet CD player/radio/clock that can be mounted to kitchen cabinets with trim on the bottom, please let me know. Coby KCD150 Under-the-Cabinet CD Player with AM/FM Radio (Silver)

I really wanted a replacement AM FM radio for $15 but could only find units like this for $30 with CD players. It works OK and installed easily. My beef is the controls for the radio. It does not have digital tuning so you turn a dial like the 40's and 50's and try to read the radio frequency numbers behind the dial. Since they are tiny and are below eye level, it's very hard to tell where you are on the dial. (the bottom of most any kitchen cabinet will have to be below eye level.) This unit is compatible with cabinets with hanging trim, contrary to one reviewer's claim.

We received the product and it would not play CD's. Contacted the company Service Center and was told to return the product. We have been trying to get return authorization for a couple weeks now to no avail!!! I would have upgraded to another brand with Amazon, however, I guess the service is not good as the product was not either.

I was looking for a small cd/radio for the nursery, but everything was so bulky and ugly. Since we have built-ins in the nursery, we decided that an under-cabinet type of cd player would work nicely. This product is light-weight and attractive, and was a piece of cake to install. The sound quality on this player is amazing -- just as good as a (much more expensive) Tivoli system that we have! Overall, perfect for the price -- we have no complaints.

The unit has great sound and features. Installation is easy if you have flat bottom cabinets. However the unit has one glaring flaw(at least mine does). The CD drive has trouble playing track one(1) on all CD discs. It loads and you can select all tracks, even track two(2) and it will play immediatly. When you try to play track one there is a strange clicking/squeaking noise from the drive like it is having issues finding the track. Eventually the track plays if you wait a few minutes and push play a few times. Still not a good issue.

Nice sound, but the installation was a nightmare! Beware, as the screws that come with this product are about two inches too short! Our kitchen cabinets are very thin, yet the screws that come with this radio are way short. Not only that, but you can't just run to a hardware store to get longer screws.

These are size 10, 32-thread screws. The longest you'll find are 3", which is the length of screws included in the box. I had to special order 4 and a half inch screws from a specialty hardware store. Cost me $11.00 for 4 screws! - Piece Of Junk - Cd Player - Dont Bother - Coby

Car Dvd Player - car dvd player, portable dvd player

dual screens for 2 kids... no need for them to crane their necks to a central spot with viewing angle issues.

they are lightweight, cheap feeling plastic units. the displays are acceptable and kids will not notice their relatively poor quality - my portable panasonic dvd player's display is much better! sound is sort of tinny. due to the streamlined design, some of the controls are hard to use and i can foresee kids having a little trouble with them. once setup though, only things to adjust are probably the direction/play buttons on the face of the main unit, volume controls and on/off switches.

they use a belt clip that just loops around the headrest and are lengthy enough to get around my honda pilot's headrests. simple and effective.

it comes with a regular plug-in power that can be used for the main unit but, not the 2nd unit. the car plug-in power cable, which is very long, splits to power both units. a single 1/8" plug A/V cable connects the two units. it also came with a 1/8" inch plug to a split yellow (video), and red/white (stereo sound) cable adapter. you could use it to connect your main unit to another tv if you want. both units have headphone jacks which i did not test yet. only the main unit has a flip out stand (as shown in the picture) so that you can watch it on a table.

so basically, this is "cheap and cheerful." i give it four stars because for the price, it is a very nice unit. easy to setup and install, and it works fine.

i hope it lasts... Philips PET7402/37 7-Inch Dual Screen Portable DVD Player with Car Mount, Black

Great for keeping the kids occupied on a long trip. If you have a tall spouse, just make sure that the monitors are out of kicking range for the younger kids.

Pros:

1. Great picture.

2. Good price for a dual headed unit.

3. Obviously - entertains the kids!

4. Audio out, if your car has an aux in, you can plug this in and get the sounds from the car speakers (if you really want to hear the kids movies).

Cons:

1. No storage bag to prevent the displays/units from getting scratched.

2. Controls are on the "main" unit and if you don't have an older child capable of running the system, you'll have to remove to change movies and start the next one.

<EDIT>

After the second use these units stopped functioning. Just stopped spinning up the disc and says Phillips Loading. Naturally this was discovered as we're 30 minutes into a 4.5 hour road trip. 10-15 days for a replacement doesn't fix it. Rest of the trip I heard, "Daddy fix it."

<EDIT-2 9/21/09>

After waithing three weeks, I called in to check on the status, and they never generated the request to send the replacement! Now they are telling me 3-4 weeks on top of the many weeks I already haven't had it. If I could change the rating to 1 star, that still wouldn't be high enough.

<EDIT-3 10/8/09>

Adding insult to injury... the replacement was received, much quicker than stated. Kudos. However, they sent an older model, which has even worse reviews than this current model. AND... since it is a refurb, it only has a 90 day warranty. This isn't a product you use frequently, and I probably won't know that it has failed till we sit in the car for the next long trip.

<EDIT-4 10/14/09>

I contacted Philips about the older model being received, and received a friendly CSR, Dwayne. He totally agreed with me, and did everything in his power to get the issue resolved, and escalated up the tiers. I received a call back and they said that this is their policy to replace with a similar model. I informed the supervisor that this is a cheaper model, my unit failed after one use and this was completely unacceptable. It would be no different than buying the more expensive model and being happy with being sent a used cheaper model, she agreed, but could do nothing. I asked again to be escalated. No call back at this point.

Again Amazon's customer service has stepped up to the plate. I contacted Amazon, and they OVERNIGHTED me the same model I originally purchased and included a free return shipping label. I had a product/warranty issue in the past with an elliptical, and they sent a shipping company to pick up the unit in pieces!

I'd still not purchase this model if I were you!

We installed the player unit for our (currently) only child, 2 years old, and it immediately made car rides more enjoyable. Setting it up and installing it was easy and quick. Image quality was excelent, audio not superb, but perfectly acceptable (Star Wars won't be that great, but Sesame Street is fine).

My only complaint so far, and it hasn't been a problem yet, is the relatively short (6') cable that connects the player unit to the secondary display. If you're hoping to hide the cabling along the side of the seat, or even inside the seat, that probably won't be enough. The other problem is that there's no internal power, and no way to power it other than home or a vehicle (meaning, it isn't useful on an airplane, unless you manage to get a seat with a power jack). Apple Ipad Stylus - stylus, acase

This is an excellent stylus. I don't often use a stylus with my iPad - but did have a pogo sketch ten one for sketching. This stylus is a much more practical device for normal sized (man's) hands. The pogo stylus is thin, small, and much to light - I would get cramps in my hand with using it for more than five minutes or so.

Another plus compared to the pogo sketch is the clip. On the pogo - it's a cheap piece of plastic with broke quickly. On the Acase stylus it is a metal clip... doubt this will break anytime soon.

With the price point of both being so close, unless you need a very small stylus, or you have small hands - I'd suggest looking at the Acase stylus to use with your iPad. Acase Capacitive Stylus for Apple iPad 16GB, 32GB, 64GB WiFi + 3G, iPad 2, iPhone, iPod, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy, BlackBerry Playbook (Jet Black)

This stylus works perfectly with my ipad. It is infinitely better than the Pogo which I had previously purchased - the rubbery tip is more stable and precise, the shaft is thicker and easier to hold, and the metal clip seems much more likely to hold up than the plastic Pogo clip, which broke within days.

Using it with the "Penultimate" app, my handwriting has never looked so good! Also- gives me almost perfect results with the "Writepad" handwriting recognition software, which I had pretty much abandoned until this arrived. I'm thrilled!

In case you were wondering, this appears to be exactly the same product as the Boxwave, and comes with the same goofy dongle meant for securing it to the earphone jack. The dongle is easily removed - I have no use for it.

Short and sweet:

I've tried three of the stylus brands offered on Amazon: The $15.00; the $11.99 aCase; and the cheap three-pack "Universal Touch Screen Stylus.".

It is easy to tell you which not to buy: the cheap ones. The rubber tips on them have too much friction. You can't write or draw easily; you literally feel like the Stylus is getting stuck on the screen. Guaranteed, one zillion percent, you will hate it.

Now, to the Boxwave vs. the aCase.

This isn't just a draw; there's not even a fight, because the two products are exactly the same (there's one subtle difference in the way the little headphone-jack string insert is attached to the pen. One uses a tiny, carbiner-type hook, and the other a ring. You'd probably never notice the difference, because there is non.

So, which to buy? The aCase is three dollars cheaper, but it only comes in black. That's it.

[...]

I really love this stylus! I play a lot of games on my iPad and so many of them are easy using this stylus. I feel like my movements are so much more accurate, plus when the screen gets hot, as it inevitably does when you get sucked into a game, I no longer have the problem of my fingers not gliding across the screen as easily as they do when the screen is cool.

The only thing I didn't like was the little attachment to attach the stylus to the headphone jack, probably to secure it. I could just see it swinging and cracking my screen one day. Luckily it's extremely easy to remove and you can't tell it was once there.

Great product! I'd buy another one if I lost mine!

One major reason I got the iPad is to draw on it. Artists will naturally understand the benefits of drawing on a screen rather then a wacom tab. Many styluses available have poor reviews when it comes to moveing the tip across the screen or accuracy. Both qualities are required for drawing.

This stylus tip is a soft bubble that slides very easily over the screen, even if the screen is a little dirty. The bubble doesn't seem to effect accuracy. It should be mentioned that the screen itself does not have the same input resolution as a piece of paper, which is why many drawing apps have a zoom function for fine details.

It's well balanced and well weighted to feel like a lightewieght pen, the tip feels like a high quality supple latex or silicone of some sort

Use a microfiber cloth under your hand to avoid unintentional palm inputs, and get the bonus of cleaning your screen. This feels similar to using a piece of paper to avoid smudging soft pencil marks.

Coupled with a premium drawing app ( I used the $7.99 autodesk sketchbook pro), drawing on the iPad becomes so natural it's scary. It's also good for pointing and using the keyboard.

One potential downside is it you make a habit of pushing too hard on it, I could image the Metal ring around the supple tip may eventual puncture the side. I could also imagine the tip could "dry out" over a year or two, becoming hard and less effective. That's all speculation, but I would expect 1-2 years of regular use out of this product.

PROS: Accurate, smooth, inexpensive, feels good to use. Great for drawing and pointing.

CONS: none, except possible wear and tear on the tip may mean a 1-2 year life Span.

One star on cheap plastic, because it's not cheap plastic. - Stylus - Acase - Ipad - Iphone Stylus

Sandisk 8gb Sd - memory cards, sdhc

Sandisk are the best memory card maker out there bar none - they hold all the patents and the highest quality products. At this price I was worried this would not be a real Sandisk product, (there's a lot of counterfeits about) but it IS the real deal, at least from this supplier.

good write speed, near identical to my Sandisk 4Gb SDHC, but not as fast as Extreme IV Compact Flash cards for serious pro camera users. Am ordering a 16Gb Transcend now, (different supplier) to see how that compares in write performance, though I expect it to be a good step down on this. Sandisk 8GB EXTREME SDHC HD Video Card Class 6 - 20MB/s (SDSDRX3-8192) [Hassle-Free Packaging]

If you've been reading all the recommendations for memory cards in your G9, and don't want to get a big card, don't worry! I bought this 8G card, and I've used it 34 times (so far)...for my underwater photography.

I have no problem at all. It's working perfectly. The recovery time is just like my smaller card, which is fine. I would suggest that you stick with the name brand, high-end card if you go to a bigger one like this. Also, I use a 4G card in my little Canon SD550. A lot of folks told me that it wouldn't work but it's great. I've had it for over a year, and I use my camera almost every day. Again, stick with name brand.

This card is a must for any photographer. The faster card cuts the delay time between shot to zero. The larger storage space means no worries about filling it up, at least in one trip. So if your getting a camera or have one; get this or you will find a time that you wish your camera loaded photos a bit faster.

I bought this card strictly for use as an alternate drive for my HP MiniNote computer, which has an SDHC slot. I have Puppy Linux installed to the card, and dual boot the computer. The computer sees it as just another drive. Additionally, I can insert the card into the USB reader, and use it to boot other computers (computers which will boot to USB, but lack the SDHC slot) as well.

The card is fast, commodious, and well-suited to this use. The price I got was very good at the time I purchased it; a good deal thru Amazon.

This SD card is great specially when you are shooting continuously as long as the buffer in your camera is large enough. The fast transfer allows you to move your pictures to the computer in no time. Highly recommended.

There's no excuse for not having as much flash memory as you may ever need. This SanDisk works for me. It's fast on recording and downloading. Best of all because it is a SanDisk and I bought it from a reputable dealer it delivers every time. I won a "SanDisk" SD card once on eBay only to discover later that (a) it was faulty and (b) it was a Chinese-made fake. 'nuf said? - 8gb - Sdhc - Memory Cards - Digital Camera Accessory

Kitchen Radio - kitchen radio, under cabinet radio

I bought this to replace an existing under cabinet CD player (different brand) and am not very happy with it. It has a hollow sound and no controls for bass or treble. Also I thought it had a light like my other one but it doesn't. It is very thin and streamlined and looks good in my kitchen but that's where my positive comments end. Wouldn't recommend this one if you want good sound and adequate controls. GPX Under Cabinet CD Player with AM/FM Stereo Radio (Silver)

Let's face it - this unit is not a Sony. But at $30, it does everything it's supposed to. The cd player, radio, and mp3 input all work fine. Doesn't have a lot of volume but it works well for our kitchen.

Needed CD player for listening to books but the sound is good enough that we are enjoying music as well. It does not turn itself off and it was a job getting the antenna untied but we love it. May never be able to get radio to work. Think we need about 100 ft to get outside our cement house. Time is lighted, a bonus as my new microwave has no battery backup so it vanishes with every power glitch. For the price it is amazing.

I have owned product for a couple of months now and I am happy with it thus far.

Installation instructions are very complete, accurate and easy to follow.

If you are looking for a product that does what it promises for the price, this is what you want.

This has a nice compact design & really does what it is supposed to do- just not very well. Sound quality is not great & radio stations are a bit shakey. It has a nice sized wire antenna, but it didn't seem to work so well for us. We're returning this unit mostly because after a few days of listening to it; we decided we were in the market for a higher quality product. Our old school little boom box has better sound- so we're back to that until we find this same thing- only better. I had anticipated that the sound would not be stellar, given the price- but after a few days, we just couldn't hang in there with this.

My husband took the player right out of the box and followed the instructions to install the unit. From the start, the CD had problems opening and would not play any of our CD's. He called the help hotline and they suggested that he return the product to where he bought it or buy a disc cleaning. The warranty card said not to take defective unit back but to send it to them. It would cost us more money to have the unit shipped back than to keep it. The sound is very boxy and the radio is not digital. It is analog with a digital display. The long wire for the antenna has to be hidden behind other stuff and doesn't pick up radio stations very well. I wouldn't suggest this to anyone. Save your money and buy something else.

Instructions were decent. Installed relatively easily. Sounds ok, you get what you pay for. My girlfriend doesn't care if it is the highest quality sound in the industry, she just wants it in the kitchen. The antenna doesn't pick up stations very well, although I have not run the antenna line out, not sure if I will though it seems to pick up the stations that come in clear on car radio well enough without it.

My husband and I purchased this radio a little over a month ago now and we are happy with the purchase. We had read all these reviews here on Amazon and took them into consideration before purchasing. It is true what most people said, the sound is not that great (it definitely lacks bass) but it doesn't have that airy sound to it either. It is an average sound - nothing special. The radio reception isn't the greatest either. We got in about 60% of the normal radio stations we can pick up in our car. Also, one thing that wasn't mentioned is that you cannot preset any radio stations. They are digital, but are switched with a dial on the side of the radio.

Now to the positives. The best thing about this radio is that fact that you can hook up your mp3 player or in our case, the mp3 players on our phones. We use this feature all the time. It was also easy to install since they give you a template to follow to drill the holes. I personally thinks it looks nice - it isn't an eyesore. It is slim as well.

Granted, this radio does has its downfalls, however the reason I decided to give it 4 stars out of 5 is because it is simple: you get what you pay for. If you are looking for an inexpensive under-the-cabinet radio this one is just fine. If you want awesome sound - obviously this one isn't for you. I would recommend it if you don't want a radio with all the bells and whistles, but something simple to play some music while cooking or eating dinner.

This seemed like the unit I've been wanting with all my required featues. Mounting was pretty easy with the drilling template. Once I got it working, I tested the radio, CD player and MP3 hookup. Everything was great for about 5 minutes and then I started smelling burnt plastic. The CD player crapped out and nothing else worked. I disassembled it so I could save my CD. Components inside are totally low grade. I thought I salvaged it by getting the radio going again but the tuner channels were out of whack. I wish I'd saved my money and gotten a Sony. - Undercabinet Cd-radio - Good - Kitchen Radio - Under Cabinet Radio

4x Optical Zoom - point and shoot, 300hs

I have my Powershot A2200 for about two weeks now. I was a little concerned about the mixed reviews but I thought I would take a chance. I have and love my Canon G10 but did not want to carry it everywhere with me. I needed a little camera to carry with me and not worry about. I purchased my Powershot A2200 for 129. and could not complain about that. I liked how you can move through the different modes quickly and I especially liked the live mode. I am an artist and it is very important for me to control color and contrast and I can easily do that in the live mode. I understand the problems some of the other reviews complained about especially the blurriness. I too had blurry photos when I first started using it. This camera has a learning curve - it is a very sensitive camera and you have to become familiar with it and choose the mode ( program, live , auto ) that is best for you. Also there are several options to control in the focus of the camera. I suggest you become familiar with it to improve your results. This is a good camera for someone like myself that is familiar with using cameras and want options for controlling images. If you just want to point and shoot and not think about it - this may not be the best choice. I am really impressed with the photos I have taken. I mainly use the live mode - it is a very flexible mode - shooting well in low museum light and even out of a fast moving car. Given what I received for this cost I am very pleased. I love my little light canon camera. Canon Powershot A2200 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom (Blue)

I purchased this a few days ago to replace an older camera, and I love it. All of my test shots have turned out beautifully when I uploaded them, and the new fish eye and miniature settings are fun to play around with.

My only concern is that the flap that covers the a/v out ports now opens in a new way, so that the pieces holding it on are under a bit of strain when it's plugged in to your computer.

Canon cameras have always been the best for the money, not this one. Although the camera has numerous features that are attractive there are two issues that detract, Lag time and battery life. When the battery is freshly charged the lag time is comparable to the SD line of cameras. After ten to 15 shoots the lag time gradually gets too long. I would not recommend using it for shooting pictures at a sporting event. The battery is a lithuim-ion, same as the SD series. However, it is rated at only 740 mAh compared to 940 mAh on the SD series. On a recent trip the battery died after seven hours of usage. Today the battery monitor said I had used 1/3 of the capacity in 2.5 hours. Unfortunately, I did not use it extensively and learn of the battery problem until after the 30 day period or it would go back to Amazon. I recommend spending the extra money on the SD series or buying a different brand.

I had a heavy DSLR and wanted a smaller camera to take to the park or just on small trips. I found this one at the store for a really good price, and bought it. I have never had a Canon camera before, but let me tell you this... I love it! They have won my sastisfaction! It is a good "beginner" camera, and takes wonderful photos. I love all the effects like fisheye, minature, poster ect. Its a some-what small camera I can fit in my pocket and take just about anywhere. I would reccommend it to anyone interested.

I just recently bought this camera for my mom on Mother's day and it was a total waste of money! The first time she used, she loved it and the pictures came out great! We went to a concert last week and brought the camera (second time using it) and right when we turn it on THE LENS JAMMED and now it won't work. We keep receiving a message that states lens error and restart camera. Mind you, we have NEVER dropped the camera and there was no dirt or anything on the camera. It was in perfect condition! I decided to do some research to see if I could fix it myself and it turns out that a lot of their Powershot cameras have this issue and people want to charge $100 just to fix it! Might as well buy a new camera. But I'm definitely not going to buy a Canon!

This is exactly what I expect from the Canon brand. The pictures look great, and the camera is super easy to navigate. All of the photo options are fun to tinker around with. If you don't like to mess with settings, then there is an auto mode that takes pretty good pictures. For those of us that like to have more control over the picture, there is a mode for that as well. You can't really change too much beyond shutter speed, iris, and other such basics. If you want to get really in depth, then you shouldn't be shopping for a point and shoot camera. The camera is light weight and compact. If you want something to fit into a pocket while you're out and about, then this is definitely the way to go. The last Cannon I had has held up for years. The only reason I bought a new camera was for an upgrade. Cameras have more oomph now than they did six years ago! And this one was worth the hassle of upgrading! I expect another six years of picture taking with this one. - Point And Shoot - 300hs - Elph - Powershot

Dvd Repair - cd and dvd polisher, cd repair

My 2 yr old got ahold of our ENTIRE dvd collection. I think she tried to polish the brick fireplace with all the discs! I tried other cheaper items before trying the Aleratec. Nothing worked before this item. I CANNOT BELIVE how well this works!! Some discs still have small glitches in a few spots - but it's good enough for this family!! Every disc that I've repaired has had just amazing results! The discs still appear kinda scratched. I mean... you couldn't list them in "like new" condition on ebay. But the important part, is that they WORK once again!! I would HIGHLY recomend this to anybody that has a few destructive kids in the household. You just never know when they'll sneak into things and try to destory them! The Aleratec disc repair is INCREDIBLE!!! Aleratec 240131 DVD/CD Disc Repair Plus Kit

I've had a great deal of success with this machine once I learned the art of using it, so I've just bought my second one. Why would I buy a second one, you ask? Because the new machine, with 4 new spin heads and each of the three types of refill kits cost me about $31 after shipping. Individually, each of the refill kits cost about $17 with shipping, so, rather than pay $51 for refills, I'll save $20 and get another machine free!

I bought my machine around May of last year, and since then it's still kickin. I have had no problems with this machine yet, and it seems to be doing just as it says. Some of my cd's that were "beyond the point of no return" were fixed with this interesting device. It even leaves a circular disc pattern on the back of the disc which looks a lot better then those deep scratches. The one drawback is how expensive the refill's are, but if you only use this a few times a year you should be set.

Overall I would have to say to purchase this product.

I purchased this based on many positive recommendations. It worked fairly well, repairing several DVDs that had light scratches and scuff marks. However, I found that moderately deep scratches cannot be repaired with this device. Also, the buffing heads tend to leave circular marks all over the disk, which the polishing heads can't completely remove.

The reason I only give it 2 stars is that it stopped working after less than a year!

I bought this product hoping to fix a minor scratch in a Windows installation CD that was preventing me from installing it. I followed the instructions in the book, and put it through both the buffing and repair cycles. After it was finished, the disc didn't work any better than before, and there were circular marks left on the disc from the process. I tried it again and again as was suggested in the instructions, and it never fixed the disc to workable condition. Afterwards, I tried other CDs to see if my Windows disc merely didn't fall into the "99%" of CDs that this product supposedly fixes, and this machine failed to fix them either. Don't waste your money on this product.

I bought this to repair a stack of about 100 CDs most with significant scratches. I get the best results if I run the scrachted CDs several times in the 'buffing' cycle, which essentially sands a thin layer of plastic from the disk. Then once through the 'repair' process where a layer of protective coating is applied to the disk. This has worked for all the CDs I tried it on (4). The problem is the buffing disks are only good for about 15 cycles. which translates into fixing about 4-6 disks. Then you have to buy the refills at $24. So before buying this kit ask yourself whether your disks are worth $5 each to repair (mine weren't).

The machine also comes with a cleaning kit / solution. In my experience windex / warm water work just a well for dirty CDs. So this does not really add value.

This is a great machine that has saved many discs! I typically use the liquid scratch repair kits, but sometimes they are just not enough. Keep in mind, this is not a 1,000 dollar machine and will not save discs that have very severe grooves. Overall, it has more than paid itself off.

I have used this machine to clean up probably 30 DVDs and Cds and so far it seems to work great. If there are any really deep scratches of course they are coasters but for scuffed and minor scratches and slight skipping it has saved most of the ones I've used it on.

It is excellent, get a scratch on a dvd/cd and it can spoil the entire disk..Odd, you asked today for tonight I had a dvd skip, jump and jerk and when I looked at the disk I could see all the scratches and marks on it, popped it in the machine, put 3 drops of their magic fluid on the dvd repair wheel and let the repair unit run it's course..I am playing the repaired dvd now and it is running without a glitch..I think the Alteratec dvd repair unit is fantastic, sincerely, --Phyllis - Aleratec - Dvd Repair - Cd Repair - Cd And Dvd Polisher

Smart Charger - automatic battery charger, smart charger

First, let me say that this charger performs flawlessly and deserves five stars when it is in charging mode. I have used it for three years and hundreds of successful charging cycles on a dozen different batteries of various sizes and types.

However, on two different occasions and with two different batteries (both brand new when hooked to the charger) I left them in "trickle charge" mode. The batteries were part of an emergency communications station that must to be ready at any time with full batteries. This charger burned up both batteries after three months of trickle charging. This mode is supposed to allow a battery to be hooked up indefinitely and maintain it at peak performance. Not destroy it. Other folks in the emergency communications service use other chargers and leave them in trickle mode for years. DO NOT use this charger for that kind of operation. Schumacher SSC-1000A SpeedCharge Battery Charger/Maintainer with 50-Amp Battery Clips

Battery chargers and I have never gotten along. I actually once sold, what turned out to be, a perfectly good old snow plow truck because I thought something serious was wrong with the engine. The charger showed the battery was good, so I figured it had to be the engine and it was too old and rusty to put more money into it. The guy came to pick it up, gave me $200...stuck a new battery in it, and drove it away. It was a bad charger not a bad battery.

Recently, using what I thought was a more reliable charger, I couldn't get my batteries to fully charge. Rather than blaming the batteries this time, I purchased the Schumacher. I read good things about the brand on the web and took the plunge. I couldn't be happier. This is a hi-tech charger with all the bells and whistles. It is "stupid proof" as well, and lets you know what is going on as it charges. I love it! I am now able to fully charge all my batteries, and the other charger went into the trash. I highly recommend this automatic speed charger.

Build Quality:

* Great build quality. Has the look and feel of a well engineered product, not some cheap stuff.

* I smiled when I lifted it first as it wasn't feather light and appeared to have decent enough weight to it - an indication of a decent power supply.

* This one seems to be rated for marine use and hence should be more resistant to corrosion.

* The connector cables are thick enough and the clamps have enough spring action/grip to them to securely lock on a battery terminal.

Design:

* Very user friendly with direct 1 touch access to most features.

* I liked the case design. Has a neat little pocket to store the power chord and the connecting cables. The chord and the cables do need to be tightly rolled up first before they can fit in the pocket.

* It's got a neat little handle that you can use to hang it up on the wall. Neat design if battery charging is something that you do more frequently and want to have the unit easily accessible, ready to use but out of the way off the floor.

Features:

Well, I haven't used it extensively enough (Used only twice since I got it a month back), but here are some features that were used (and so experienced) when I used the charger:

* Shows level of charge on a battery - both in percentage as well as volts. Big readout makes it easy to read all the numbers.

* Has user selectable 2/6/10 amp charging options - good for most batteries. Would have liked a 1 amp option as well (for smaller motorcycle batteries), but then that's a different product from Schumacher. The 2 amp option, though slightly higher than recommended, worked great for the motorcycle battery though. So this unit really allows charging a wide range of batteries- for motorcycles, cars, boats. Nice to have just one charger around rather then 1 for each type of vehicle/battery.

* The electronics worked just as mentioned. Once I selected the primary amp setting, everything else was handled automatically by the charger electronics. It switched to a trickle mode charge automatically once the battery was completely charged. Neat feature, keeps your batteries from being damaged by overcharging.

* Has a desulfation mode that desulfates a battery. Of the two instances when I used this charger, it kicked into this mode on my car battery which was completely drained and was left in the completely discharged state for quite some time that resulted in sulfation in the battery. This charger automatically detected this state of the battery and desulfated it first and then automatically switched to charging mode once the battery was desulfated and accepted charge. (I will be honest with you - I don't really know the chemistry and process behind this, but I have read that sulfation can render a battery useless)

* Has a cooling fan to keep the charger cool. Not exactly whisper quiet, but not something that's louder than expected (YMMV) for the application.

Reliability:

Have only owned it for a month and used it twice, so can't really comment on long term reliability. But it has worked perfectly on the two instances I had to use it including it's "automatic" features. So, for the price (I got it when it was about 50% of MSRP at Amazon), it's one awesome, feature-rich charger. - Smart Charger - Automotive - Battery Chargers - Automatic Battery Charger

Photography Equipment - canon, lens cover

It does the job. You may be able to find cheaper ones but take it from me, that's not always the best way to go. I bought a $3 cap previously and it was cheaply made. The threads were messed up on it and it didn't attach to the threads on my adapter well at all. It did not stay on to good which, unless I'm mistaken, is the entire purpose for a lens cap. This cap is NOT a replacement for the slip on cap that comes with the S2/S3 cameras. It is made for use with an adapter and UV/filter lens. Canon E-58U 58mm Snap-On Accessory Lens Cap

The Canon 58mm lens cap fits the Canon conversion lens adapter very well and stays on well on my S5is. A complaint on the S5 is that the lens cap falls off too easily, but that is a safety precaution to not damage the lens if the camera is powered up and forgetting the cap is still on. With the LAH-DC20 adapter in place the camera is extended past the lens when powered on so a much more secure cap can be put on. This is the cap for that job! Be sure to get a stick-on style lens leash to attach to this cap, because it does not come with provision for a strap.

Let me start by saying, there seems to be a misconception this cap is specifically for the S series cameras; it is for ANY Canon camera that can support 58mm adapters, filters etc.

-The S1/2/3 feature a pop-on cap and this is NOT a pop-on cap. Therefore the E-58U will not fit as the "original" cap does.

-The S5 uses this "style" of cap, and is about the same size (overall), but as stated above, the E-58U is NOT an OEM replacement cap. The S5 OEM cap is roughly a 47mm cap, because the locking tabs are positioned farther in (to match the inner diameter of the S5's "trim ring"). That means the OEM cap size is 11mm smaller compared to the E-58U, which is the reason the E-58U will not fit as the S5's OEM cap does.

This cap is designed to fit into either a lens adapter, filter, or lens with threads; which would be mounted to the camera. The locking tabs of the cap have threads on them, which are designed to lock into threads.

One thing the "default image" does not show very well, is the color of the lettering: "Canon" is silver and "Ultrasonic" is a brassy-gold. The letters also have a slight sheen to them.

The only minor drawback to this cap is the lack of a tether or a hole to accept one. However, there are a couple solutions to this, one of which was discovered by a fellow reviewer-

"M. Nascimento: Purchase a Lens Cap String with the 2 sided round tape button that you attach to the front of the lens cap."

In closing-

If you are looking for a "replacement" S series factory cap, this cap is NOT for you.

If you have 58mm threaded filters, step rings, lenses, or a 58mm lens adapter and need a snug fitting cap, this is a great one!

I bought it recently, and found it perfect for my canon G9, as it fits properly to the conversion lens adapter(LA-DC58H) and protects my lens. Another good news, if you are using any filter it snaps perfectly on the top of your filter without removing the filter from the adapter.

I was amazed at the ease of use of this lens cap. It literally snaps RIGHT ON to the end of my camera lens, and also stays put when I move my hand away. I have to physically remove the lens cap with my hand to get it off! Protects my lens flawlessly. Terrific!

I recently lost my lens cap for my Cannon Rebel XTi. I was worried about buying this because so many reviewers said it didn't fit their Canon, but this cap fits my Rebel XTi perfectly. It's a perfect replacement for the lens cap that came with my camera.

If you've lost your lens cap on your Rebel XTi, get this lens as a replacement! :)

I got this lens cap when I ordered a close-up lens for my camera, a PowerShot S1 IS, because it was recommended as something people who ordered that part would also order. I, therefore, assumed that it went with the same camera, or with the lens/adapter I was ordering. However, it does not appear to fit either the camera itself or any of the attachments, so I now wish that I had done some more research to determine whether it would actually fit my equipment. - Canon - Lens Cover - Canon Lens Cap - Camera Lens Cover
