Click here for more information I bought this really because the belt clip case system looked pretty good. To start with that, the clip case interface wasn't quite as good as I expected. I prefer clips to be 2 1/4 in. This was only 2 in. Bolstering the phone was a little bit difficult, especially just by feel. I do really like the swivle. I can angle it any way I want.
The case itself is very protective, but overkill. On the face of the case, the edge extends too high along side of the screen. This makes typing and touching the edge of the screen very hard to impossible. I don't think the case needed to be this thick to offer protection.
In the end I returned my case because it was too bulky and restrictive.
Buy it if your on SWAT/military or if youre gonna drop it from high places.
Don't buy it if your not that hard on your phone. You can get lower profile cases that still protect, but offer more accessibility. OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) (Bulk Packaged)
This box is the most robust box I have seen. It has the newer version of the clip..... My other defender box had the older case and the phone kept falling out!! No complaints here though, I emailed otterbox and within a few days a new clip arrived :-)
The price of $19 is excellent. It isn't the best looking case I have seen but that's not why I chose the case it will keep my phone in one piece ... Full stop!
This case encloses your iphone 3GS in a inner shell that has a screen protector built in. Then the shell is inserted in a
rubberized skin. I dropped my phone a few times at work, and it absorbed the shock with no problems. Phone works great. To some my phone in the case looks a bit clunky, but I rather have the protection. This is a must have if you work in a rough environment. better to have your phone look like a tank then a cracked screen.
No problems listening to the ipod, or making phone calls, the screen is still sensitive with the screen protector.

I just got a new iPhone so I wanted to protect it. I heard the OtterBox was the way to go. I have since knocked the phone out of my holster several times and am extremely pleased to say the phone has survived and I love this case. I recommend it as a must buy. Oh, by the way. Once it fell from approximately 15 up.The plastic case has a small dent but the phone works perfectly. I'm pretty sure it would not have survived without this case. Bravo OtterBox! I bought one for my wife also!!!!
This product is almost perfect, with two exceptions...
(1) Your iPhone is not locked in sufficiently enough to prevent it from falling out of the carrier, especially if you rub against something, or you are getting out of your car. Mine has fallen out a few tines when I expected it to remain securely in the carrier, and (2) You cannot charge the iPhone while it is in the carrier.
Those are the only two complaints I have on this product, otherwise it is excellent. It is the best carrier I have found so far.
The Defender is a great case for the I-phone, I work hard and my phone would take a serious beating if the Otter Box wasn't protecting it. That being said, the holster for the 3G otter box sucks, I already knew this before I bought it so when using this holster I keep a rubber band around my phone so as not to lose it. They improved the design for the I-Phone four . I recommend the Otter Box to protect anything it's designed to protect. My friend totaled his bike, he didn't come out so well but his I-phone did and the only damage to his Otter Box was the clip broke on the holster. They replaced it. Great product.

Awesome product to have to protect your expensive investment! Love the different layers to keep the phone enclosed and safe! This product only got 4 stars because the clip needs a better design and the thin screen layer that gies over the screen tends to stick to the screen itself making it look as if your phone is wet from the inside. Other than that great product and if mine ever to a turn for the worse I would definitely get another one!
I spent a lot of money on my phone and I wanted it protected. I work outside in various locations and my gear gets banged around a lot. I wanted a case that could hold up to the abuse that it would surely see. This otterbox has been an outstanding case. It provides excellent protection to my phone and allows easy manipulation of all the buttons along with easy access to the charge port.
