Vitacoco - coconut water, coconut

Coconut water and me do not mix. I have tried all of the brands out there and was very satisfied with this flavor mix. I know all about the health benefits and try to drink one a day. Much better for you than Sports drinks! If you drink too much alcohol, try this the next morning, it will help with the recovery! This flavor mix was very tasty and does not have a coconut after taste. It has the Passion fruit taste throughout the whole experience. I would recommend since the price is lower here on Amazon!

I love coconut water. It's so refreshing. I've been wanting to try some of the flavored coconut waters and grabbed this when it was on sale.

I'm sorry to say that I didn't like this flavor at all. It had a sour taste to me that I really disliked. I drank down one, but was not happy to think of drinking the other 11! sigh... I gave the rest of them to my brother and I hope he enjoyed the flavor more than I did. I wont be getting this flavor again.

Bought this to replace gatorade and all the other sports drinks that are loaded with sugar, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors and all that other junk. This is so satisfying to drink and doesn't make you sick, you can feel the difference when you drink something so good. Lovin' it!!!!

I ordered both the coconut water and coconut water with passion fruit. I honestly was expecting to like the plain coconut water better because I'm used to having fresh coconut water, but the coconut water with passion fruit was good. There's a real passion fruit taste present in the drink and it brightens up the drink without being too overwhelming. It's definitely a great drink to have to start or end the day.

While myself and my sister are undergoing treatment for cancer, was advised to try this product Vita Coco Coconut water, what a difference it made immediately.

Hydration is so important while undergoing radiation, or chemo ,

Vita Coco, fits right into a program to help hydrate and keep your vital organs, protected.

Will drink it forever.

Thanks Jene Fielder

Great option for those who don't like the taste of plain coconut water. The passion fruit is delicious and it tastes best when served ICE COLD. Love to drink this before, during and post workout. Besides being a great hydrating tool, it helps avoid cramping as well.

Coconut water is high in potassium and a natural electrolyte. It helps to rehydrate you much faster than Gatorade only wishes it could. Depending on what you are used to drinking, you may love or hate coconut water. I think that it's a matter of getting used to a different taste more than it being "bad" or "gross." If you go into it thinking you're going to be drinking juice, think again. This is more a watered down juice-like drink, but it has much less sugar and doesn't give a sugar shock that leaves you wishing for more to drink.

My whole family enjoys this brand and this specific flavor combo. We all do not enjoy plain ole coconut water and really liked the juice-like taste of this flavor. It works for us, but your family may enjoy another flavor better. I would try several flavors before deciding on one or none at all. I had this as a Subscribe & Save item for over a year, until Amazon told me I no longer could buy it that way. I was devastated.

I searched on Amazon to see if I could find something comparable. After ordering the O.N.E. Coconut Water with a Splash of Passion Fruit, 8.5-Ounce Aseptic Containers (Pack of 12) a month ago, I, as well as another family member, finally decided to try one today. We both had the same reaction..."this doesn't taste as good as the brand we had been drinking." Hence my coming to Amazon tonight to write a review of the O.N.E. product... Now I wish I hadn't ordered 3 whole boxes of it! I thought @ $10/box of 12 I couldn't go wrong. Hmm, maybe I was wrong!

But enough of O.N.E. Coconut Water with Passion Fruit, Vita Coco Coconut Water with Passion Fruit tastes so much better! If you're sick and feeling dehydrated, this is what you need. If you've just done a big workout and nothing can quench your thirst, this is what you need. If you're feeling a little run done or have a headache that just won't quit, this is what you need.

Luckily, my dislike of O.N.E. brand led me back to Amazon to see that I could once again order Vita Coco Coconut Water with Passion Fruit as a Subscribe & Save. Comparably, the price difference is negligible: ounce for ounce it is just about the same. I only wish I hadn't been ousted before! - Coconut Water - Coconut - Delicious - Sports Drink - Vitacoco - Cooking

Gluten Free - coconut, health

I have tried just about every coconut water company out there (Zico, Harvest Bay, Vita Coco, etc.) and this by far is the best and the closest to the coconut water out of fresh young coconut. Nothing will be beat drinking it right out of fresh coconut but O.N.E comes the closes.

The coconut water is supposed to taste like fresh refreshing, slight sweet water with just a hint of coconut flavor. If you taste strong flavor of coconut, it is probably over ripe or aged. This container also doesn't have any package smell as some of the other coconut water packages have.

Just remember to buy them fresh and chill them before you drink. The flavor is much better when chilled. Highly recommend buying this over the other brands.

Each of these three products has a number of reviews. I don't have much to add to any of the individual reviews. Coconut water is great, if you are in the market for a case of it you already know this. But which of these three is the best?

I went around town and found 5 boxes of each of the three brands (15 total) each, with no two boxes of a the same brand coming from the same supplier. The goal was to get a wide range of product batches. This I am happy to report was pointless. All three brands produce an internally consistent product.

I then ordered a 12 pack of all three brands from Amazon. The only significant difference in packaging is that O.N.E. glues a little telescoping straw to each individual box, the other two brands do not. If you are a straw person this is a feature if not this is just more trash, you decide. The amount per container varies slightly by brand but given the price fluctuation on Amazon I don't consider the 0.1 Oz differences an important factor.

All three are made in Brazil, O.N.E. mentions that it is pasteurized the other two do not (nevertheless, I suspect all three are).

On pure taste, at refrigerator temperature, I found Zico to be the best (say 5/5), but only nominally better than O.N.E. (4.5/5), Vita was a distant third (3/5). Both Zico and O.N.E. taste almost exactly like drinking right from a fresh green coconut. Vita, on the other hand, has a grape aftertaste which I did not like. At room temperature the order remained the same; however, the differences in taste became more obvious: Zico (5/5), O.N.E. (4/5), Vita (2/5). Obviously all of this is subjective.

I observed the price of three on Amazon over the course of a month. Zico (~$24) was consistently more expensive than the other two (~$18-21) which traded places as the least expensive.

Considering the price and quality, O.N.E. is my choice and the brand to which I now subscribe. I consider Zico an excellent, but over priced, product and Vita an inferior product. If, however, I preferred my coconut water at room temperature I would give strong consideration to paying the extra money for Zico. If I used my coconut water as a mixer I would buy which ever one is cheapest at the time.

All three products are better than nothing (the previous option) and I am happy to see them on the market.

My mom recommended to me ONE coconut water, and it's great. Great tasting, full of electrolytes, and relatively healthy.

When my Whole Foods ran out of stock, I thought I'd try the alternatives, including Zico and Vita something. Surprisingly, both weren't that great although I think in one case it may have to do with them trying to mix other juices in (i.e. not pure coconut water). Another brand I tried was worse. That's pretty sad because other than good OJ or apple juice, nothing beats coconut water and more people ought to know about it. No matter what brand you try, I wouldn't recommend non-pure coconut water like mango or other juices mixed in because it takes away from it.

I've had coconut water straight from coconuts, and this is as good as I've had. So it was a pleasant surprise when years back they started selling this stuff. In many cultures, Coconuts are a daily staple and the source of a wide range of critical nutrients. It's something people can eat and drink literally every day.

The drink is good like Gatorade after a long excercize. I hate Vitamin water and all the other sports drinks, and somewhat tolerate Gatorade. I'm surprised they don't just imitate coconut water.

Anyways, highly recommended.

Like a few of the people who wrote a review I was born and raised on a carribbean island... Barbabdos to be exact. When I came here I tried to find coconut water that actually,.. was coconut water and guess what , One coconut water is exactly that.

It taste like the young fresh coconut water that it clams to be from ... loook at the ingrediants no additives just coconut water. There is a difference between young coconuts and more aged coconuts. The older ones are much sweeter :) but the young ones are more refreshing and much healthier.

So if you dont know what you talking about..its not right to leave a negative review, because to really know the difference between coconuts you actually would have to taste the orginal product cut fresh and drink it out the nut.

One... Thanks.. I always crave coconut water during pregancy because there is nothing better than young cocnut water to keep a mother and her baby healthy and you have given me something wonderfull. - Coconut - Health - Sports Drink - Organic - Raw Foods - Delicious

This is the best way to get coconut water unless you have direct access to fresh, green coconuts. Tastes great. I prefer to use a straw to drink from the box. There's no jelly included, only the liquid coconut water. They are not cheap, but I buy from Amazon since our grocery stores don't sell coconut water. Some people don't like the taste of coconut water, but this brand is great if you do.

My husband runs and we'd read that coconut water is a much better replenishment drink than all the artificial sports drinks, so we began our search for a good brand. He is Latin American and I'm West Indian, so we're quite familiar with how this is supposed to taste. The canned drinks were awful - they picked up the taste of the can and many companies chose to add in coconut pieces which didn't do anything pleasant in terms of taste. This is by far the best brand we've tasted. It is expensive but so is Gatorade and similar drinks, so if you work out and use those, this is much better. It is higher in potassium by far, very important for post-workouts. It is also great for hangovers (hah!) and for women who've recently given birth. Essentially it does a great job of helping the body to recover and replenish essential electrolytes, so whether you go with this brand or another, coconut water is a great drink. To us, this is the best tasting and most authentic tasting brand out there. We do wish it was cheaper, but unfortunately we live in a society where it's easier to eat crap and get obese and unhealthy than it is to eat well and stay fit. (We have NOT tasted vitacoco yet...hoping to try soon. Will review again if our opinion differs after tasting!)

When I visted Thailand, a woman offered me a coconut. I nodded and she whacked it open with a machete with all the precision of a samuari, stuck a straw in it and handed it to me. It was decidedly different and unlike any other coconut product I had before. I enjoyed several of these while I was there, and some European tourists asked how was it as we floated by in the canal at the Rose Market. I gave them the thumbs up, but for people used to the ultra sweet and syrupy soda pop drinks and juice sweetened with high frutose corn syrup, they'll likely find the taste vile. It's very light and refreshing and if your taste buds aren't conditioned by overly sweet drinks, you'll probably enjoy this.

I gave it 4 stars because the contents say the coconuts are from Brazil and I found the ones I had in Thailand a bit more tasty.

Everyone in my family loves this drink! We use it in smoothies and health drinks. We use it as it is and we use it as a base in other blendered drinks. We think it is fantastic any way we've used it. Its flavor is very subtle and nice - not sweet, not salty, unique to itself and not at all overpowering when used with other flavors. We have only used it in "natural flavor" and really like it a lot. If the health claims for it are at all true, then it is a wonderful product. We like to use it with a little fruit juice, too, with kids so you get the health benefits but not so much of the sugar from fruit juice. It's delicious on its own but with juice or whey powder or yogurt and fruit - whatever you like - added. To those few reviewers who made such negative statements: what in the world were YOU drinking? Not this, that's for sure! It's great stuff....we're glad Zico makes this available. - Zico - Coconut - Delicious - Sports Drink - Health - Beverage

Great Taste - delicious, sports drink

Just ordered this and the plain coconut milk, I really like the Mango Zico

not over sweet but just right and refreshing. As a diabetic have to be careful with my diet and read this is a very healthy for blood sugar control and has the many benefit's of coconut. A little pricey and small serving 11 oz.

but is imported from Brazil so i can understand the cost. Hope Amazon put's this on sell will buy again....!

If you dont like mangos, you will not like this drink. It does not taste like an "organic" mango, but rather, it tastes more like the "essence of mango" you would smell from an air freshener. This does mix pretty well with cold rum.

I would suggest you find this brand locally to try it before you buy it. This water does not taste like the water you would get from the Asian countries. I cant really explain why either.

My necessity after a Karate workout!

Better than a sports drink for electrolytes..much less sugar..

My favorite flavors........MANGO!in PURE COCONUT WATER.

All natural, lightly flavored with pure fruit juice.

Takes me back to Hawaii...mmmm.

This is a great product. Although I'd initially planned to buy a single box to sample the product, I realized after reading previous reviews that coconut water was probably an acquired taste, so I bought a 12-pack just to see if I'd end up liking it. At first, I was disappointed; the first taste seemed rather bland (and it was somewhat warm). The next day, I drank another carton (cold now) and it wasn't too bad. The third day I found myself looking forward to getting home to drink a carton of this stuff! Now, I love it so much I've subscribed to regular deliveries. For me, the mango flavor is the best. I wish it were a little cheaper (thus only 4 stars) but otherwise I like the product just the way it is and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightly flavored alternative to sodas.

I have been buying Zico's mango flavored coconut water for several months now but last 2 packs I received did not taste the same. It tasted as if it had gone bad/expired/etc. Normally this is a great product but after receiving two bad batches, I won't be buying Zico anymore.

I've been buying ZICO with mango in 11.2 oz. tetra-paks almost since they started offering them here on Amazon. However, just as another reviewer explained, the most recent batch I received was horrible, it went from being the best coconut water to the worst I've ever had. The packaging was slightly different and most alarming, the individual box no longer says anything about being from Brazil. If this continues I will never buy this product again. If you are having the same experience, please speak up on here so maybe we can get this fixed......

So my husband and I have been receiving Zico water with mango for several months, with subscribe and save. This month both cases taste HORRIBLE. Expiration date is in just a few months. In the past they were over a year away. Also the cases were different in color. Tasted no hint of mango, but cannot drink this batch. What is up with that? We love this stuff and have come to depend on it for after exercise.

I've ordered Zico Mango Coconut Water three times from Amazon. The first two times, the dozen I received were fine. This time, there was something wrong with the batch; I'm not sure if Amazon used a different distributor or something else happened. The coconut water tasted very strange, with a strong aftertaste, and there was a milky substance in the water, which I've never seen before (I've been drinking Zico for a while). The individual boxes also looked different -- the colors were off (flesh-tone instead of yellow), and the expiration date and batch info were printed differently. I can't recommend ordering in bulk from Amazon, even though it's so convenient and saves money. This isn't the first time I've experienced a bad batch -- as if the food company had sent a "slightly imperfect" batch to Amazon to get rid of it. I've had this experience with canned beans, food bars, and now Zico. It's such trouble to call and get a label and send it back and get a refund, especially if, as I did, you break down the boxes and store all the drinks away in the cabinet before you realize they're no good! Just a word of caution. - Delicious - Sports Drink - Beverage - Health - Electrolytes - Coconut

Fibromyalgia - vitacoco, acai

I have tried all the flavors of Vita Coca and this one is the BEST !!

This brand is much better than ONE or Zito.

Fyi.. a great way to try all the flavors is with the variety pack.

I like to save an extra 15% and get this shipped once per month. I drink

them after a working out and since I work out about 5 days a week,2

12 packs of drinks works out about right.

With vita cocoa...being healthy takes GREAT !

Very Smooth taste. To me, this acai & pomegranate is very good. The pineapple flavor is still my favorite, with the acai second, and the mango peach is my least favorite of the 3 flavors.

This flavor is light and refreshing, like water with a smooth berry and coconut flavor added. It doesn't taste phony either. It is 100% natural and it tastes natural. Too good to be just flavored water. It tastes more like a light fruit juice. I had mine chilled. It is imported from Brazil. A plastic twist-off cap allows you to stick in a straw easily, without hammering the package to punch it through. A single package is about 6 inches high, with 3 inch diagonal square shape.

One paper coated package contains 17 fluid ounces/500 ml, marked as 2 servings. Per serving stats are 60 calories (so 120 calories total per package), 0 fat, 0 cholesterol, 30mg sodium, 515 mg potassium, 15g sugar, 4 % calcium, 4 % phosphorus, 180 % vitamin C, 8 % magnesium, 1 g protein. Ingredients, as listed in order on package are: natural coconut water, mango puree, peach puree, ascorbic acid (vitamin C). The package states it is 100 % natural, has more electrolytes than leading sports drinks with 15 times the potassium, and has more potassium than 2 bananas.

So--- it is good, refreshing, healthy, easily packable, and easily openable. (It's ok. I can make up words. I work for the government.) I really like the high potassium content, too. (Note--I am NOT a doctor.) As the sweltering East Coast heat and humidity approaches, potassium helps with the fluid you lose. Whether you are on fluid pills, or working outside in the eat, or running and jogging for your health, or hiking, or your children are playing and running in the heat, it's a real good idea to keep those potassium levels up. Low potassium levels, as I understand it, can be harmful, leading to cramps in your legs or worse--maybe even making you pass out. Anyway, this is good and it sure tastes a lot better to me than Gatoraid (yuk). So, check it out, and read up on "potassium" before the heat gets here.

This was so gross!! I actually had tried the peach/mango flavor before this one and thought nothing could be as bad as that one, but this one was even worse. I couldn't even taste coconut in it. Just grossness.

I found this to taste stale and perhaps like drinking liquid cardboard. I've had the original, unflavored Vita Coco (like it better than original, unflavored O.N.E. and very tolerable for unflavored) and Tangerine Vita Coco (superb!). This is a HUGE disappointment in comparison. I used to love the Acai coconut water offered by Hudson Bay, but I can no longer find it. That was my favorite drink ever! I'm not sure if it is the pomegranate that makes it taste rather lousy, but I was wholly disappointed. There is a pleasant fruity aftertaste, but it is ever so slight and nearly undetectable. I'll pass on another purchase of this again.

I suffer from Fibromyalgia as well as other Auto-Immune Problems and decided to give this a try to see if the potassium might help with some of my muscle pain. I have tried all of the flavors and the Vita Coco Coconut Water with Acai & Pomegranate is my favorite! (The plain is my second favorite.) It's like a mini-treat to break up my day and I have seen a difference in the amount of pain I have been experiencing as well as it helping me with the "dry mouth" effects that my medication causes.

I am not a medical doctor - but as someone that suffers from chronic pain - I would highly recommend at least giving this a try if you are in the same boat as I am.

It takes a little while to get used to the taste - but once you do - you actually look forward to having it each day. *Hint: I have found that by putting it into the freezer for a little bit it turns into a tasty slushy that is AWESOME!

I love vita coco and this drink is great but with horrible after taste. This flavor has more potassium( 21% vs 19%) than the pineapple flavor so this was the main reason for me trying this. The flavor is great while drinking but the after taste is horrible. Its mostly acai flavor after taste and Im not a big fan of acai. The acai basically over powers the pomergranate and coconut but its still a refeshing flavor. Overall I would not by this flavor again if I had the chance. Hopefully the tangerine one comes back so I can give that one a try. - Vitacoco - Acai - Coconut - Health - Delicious - Fibromyalgia

Delicious - beverage, coconut

I have been trying all brands of coconut water. I agree that the Vita Coco is perhaps the sweetest tasting coconut water. I bought the Naked Coconut water right when it became available (at a good price; keep an eye out as prices for several brands of coconut water has been fluctuating on Amazon). Anyway, Naked water is not as sweet as Vita Coco, yet not as sour as Zico. Naked water was certainly good enough to order more.

I work outside in the Texas heat quite a bit. During this summer of 2010 (with temperatures above 100 degrees) I will work up a huge sweat, literally soaking my shirt. I found that drinking coconut water, of any brand, does wonders at refreshing me and giving me the energy I need to head back outside. Indeed, one memorable day I went inside to cool off; I was literally so tired that I thought I would not be able to go back out into that heat and finish my chores. However, after chugging down a container of cold coconut water and sitting for about ten minutes, I was amazed at how refreshed I felt. I was able to head back out and work up a new sweat. From that day on I have been a real fan of coconut water.

I doubt the hype about being 'good for diabetes' and other health-related claims (I am diabetic and have found no difference in my blood sugar levels). However, coconut water does wonders at rehydrating the body: much better than Gatorade. Even Zico (which has been much maligned lately) does me great after a hot session in the heat.

So, load up on coconut water. When you are overheated and thirsty, any brand will go down great. Keep an eye on the prices, since they seem to vary.

I have tried about 5 brands of coconut water, Amy and Bryans, ONE, Nature Factor, Zico, and VitaCoco. This one has the most subtle taste of all of them and looking at the nutritional listing on the box, seems to contain the least amount of sugar. For some, it might taste like water since the flavor does not seem to come out compared to the other brands.

Amy and Bryans and Nature Factor coconuts are way too sweet for my taste and I think they get their coconut water from Thailand. Vita Coco tastes a bit tart.

Zico used to be my favorite before they switch from all natural to concentrate and though I have not tried it, based on other people's reviews, it does not come close to any of these particular ones.

So in the end, ONE coconut will be the brand I will continue to buy and if Zico comes back into the market, I might pick them second. For my taste, the ONE brand tastes the best.

I would rate this at 3.5 star but since that is not available, I guess I will put it at 3. It just tastes too close to water.

Preface: Growing up in south India, I used to drink coconut water almost everyday.

I haven't tried ONE or Vita. I have tried Zico (natural flavor), and it was really disappointing. Everytime I took a sip, I kept turning the tetra-pak to look at the ingredients on the back. It did say 100% coconut water and nothing else. But I am not so sure, I have never tasted any coconut water that sweet, it was just awful. Hmmm.. may be not awful, but that's just not how coconut water tastes.

Compared to Zico, Naked is way better. It is definitely the real thing, though it lacks, just a little bit, in flavor. I would give it 4 stars, but seeing Zico rated higher than Naked, I am giving this a 5 star.

If you grew up drinking coconut water, definitely buy Naked over Zico. If you are new to coconut water, mild tasting Naked might be a let down. You might like the more sweeter Zico better.

Normally I'd like to see more options available with something I love like coconut water, but what really peeves me is how the quality keeps going down! The larger companies are now getting their hands into what is "hot" and they're pumping out low quality coconut water. The only thing that kept me from giving a 1 star is that the better alternatives can't seem to stay in stock. Jeeze!!!

I'm from Brazil, and when I'm home I usually drink coconut water straight from the coconut. When I moved to the states I really missed tating real good coconut water, until I tried this product. Trust me people, this is the real stuff. It's not as sweet as the othe rbrands, and real coconut water isn't supposed to be, but sour coconut water means that they took it from coconuts that aren't ripe yet. This is the best coconut water you can get in the states.

I will start by saying that I am NOT an avid drinker of coconut water. This was my first (and probably only) experience with the stuff. I like trying new, healthy items when they come out and coconut water had been on my list for a while. I decided to bite the bullet with this one since I am a fan of the Naked brand. While I'm sure that the beverage is healthy and good for you, and may even qualify to college kids as a hang over drink, I, on the other hand, think that its distinct taste (not coconut-y, but rather 'earthy') and don't enjoy it. I'd probably say that if you have ever had wheat grass drinks, you would like this. If you don't like wheat grass, you probably will no like this. (I'm not crazy about wheat grass, but I mix it into some drinks for the added health benefits). While they are made of different ingredients and don't taste exactly the same, I think that the taste TYPE is very similar. They will probably taste better in a nice, healthy fruit smoothie.

It's also important to point out that the expiration date of the beverages I received was 2.5 months after I ordered it. That may seem like a lot of time, but if it will take you a while to consume the drinks, you may want to keep that in mind. I ended up bringing them into work and left them in the kitchen for anyone who would want them since I knew I wouldn't finish the entire box before it expired. - Beverage - Coconut - Health - Sports Drink - Zico - Delicious
