I use the oven a lot for broiling and cooking. These gloves definitely protect your hands and the wrist. I was able to hold on to an iron skillet at 450 degrees for about 10 seconds before it started to get uncomfortable. Grasping cookie sheets and pizza stones...etc are a breeze. Very convenient to have the use of all your fingers. They have silicone pads/patches on the outside for extra grip and more insulation. A word of warning though, those silicone pads get really hot on the surface so be very careful not to touch them immediately after handling something very hot. That's my only gripe. It's a little weird to actually wear gloves as opposed to an oven mitt but you stop caring once you see how convenient they are.

Absolutely would by them again. A pair for $25 I think is a fair enough price. Remember that these gloves don't make you invincible so use them with common sense.

You know that worrisome feeling you have when you quickly move a pot or dish from the oven? Gone. These gloves provide you the use of your fingers, so you have far FAR better control over hot items, without rushing. I've removed salmon from under the broiler (at 500 degrees) without feeling even a warming sensation, something that I'd always felt, even with expensive silicone mitts. I can hold pots removed from the oven (at around 400) pretty much as long as I could want, and am able to take them straight to the table without pausing at the counter to remove (and reset) my grip. The one tiny drawback is that you can't immediately slip them on; they take about 10 seconds to put on versus the few seconds it takes to put on big mitts. I really hope the manufacturer makes pot holders in the same style and fabric in the future.

Glove fits either hand as a convenience. However heat is absorbed by the material in the glove so it becomes uncomforable quite quickly when removing food from under the broiler or from a hot oven in general. Click here for more information I heat my home primarily with a woodstove. I often have my hands near high heat. With these gloves I've experienced no discomfort or difficulty manipulating the wood. Plus the leather and lining are quite malleable.

These gloves are great for the money spent. First thing I would like to talk about are the pros and later I will discuss the cons.



The Pros of this product are numerous.

1. As long as you are wearing long sleeves, the comparatively short gloves are completely sufficient at protecting your wrist and forearm.

2. Durable in high heat

3. Comfortable inside lining

4. Rather stylish



The Cons are.

1. When gripping metal at around 800 degrees Fahrenheit (roughly 400 C) These gloves start to melt a little bit and are not sufficient at keeping out the heat.

2. It is hard to clean the inside lining. Especially if you are grilling with raw meat and a rub. So wash your hands first. I know this is a bit of a hassle but you don't want to tear your inside lining, which can happen when you clean it.



The cons are only applicable in certain circumstances which is why I would recommend this product. It is going to rock the gloves off your basic oven mitten :-)

I was looking for something to use with my propane grill that would allow me to remove various cooking utensils (mostly skewers and my fish-grilling basket) from the grilltop with more dexterity than the usual oven mitt. These gloves are handsome looking and very comfortable, but are nearly useless when it comes to heat resistance. If I grip a hot skewer for the 5-10 seconds required to remove meat or vegetables from it, my hand becomes very uncomfortable and I have to shift the skewer from one hand to the other. After just three uses, the fingertips of both gloves have partially melted and show the imprints of the round skewer heads on them. I have cotton oven mitts that are more heat resistant than these gloves, which is a shame because the gloves are very reasonably priced and seem nicely constructed. I would not recommend these for use with a barbecue grill. I am amazed that other users have given them such high praise; maybe the manufacturer has cheapened them or I got a defective pair.

I bought these gloves on Amazon for $19.96, and they were well worth it. They are sturdy, long enough in the cuffs and thick enough in the hands to protect from the heat of a fire. They look good, too. The black color of the glove part doesn't show the dark soot from burnt logs and ashes. The red cuffs do show a bit of dirt, but it's not that big a deal, in my opinion. Overall, these gloves are a good value.

The heat resistant fireplace and barbecue gloves do a great job, I use them for my fireplace,they keep my hands clean as well as protected form the fire and heat. Go Gloves got them to me very promptly .I look forward to making many winter nights fires in my fireplace.

I have had these gloves for about a year and they work very well for adding logs to my fire place. I have manipulated hot logs and have not felt any discomfort. They might be a bit bulky for grilling, though.

These are great gloves for bbqing. Picking up and moving hot grates and moving any hot bbq equipment for that matter is no problem.



They're good enough where you might find yourself feeling confident enough to pick up a hot, lit, coal. It'll be ok for a few seconds but then you'll feel it. I guess that's what tongs are for.

As the proud owner of a new Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5 inch smoker, I wanted to make sure I had an excellent pair of gloves for handling the various heavy parts of this smoker, especially when they're hot. (Picking up a heavy smoker filled with precious pork butt and ribs with thin gloves will make your arms feel like Kwai Chang Caine from the old TV show "Kung Fu" carrying that "arm-be-que" thing... not good.) These gloves are well made with tight stitching throughout, the interior is lined with a soft cotton-like material,they fit my somewhat large hands comfortably, and they insulate extremely well. Click here for more information I purchased these exclusively for grilling use. According to the other reviews, these are great for grilling. However, they must not have used this with cast iron on the grill. We have the lodge logic cast iron fajita plates that we use all the time. My husband tried to grab one of these off the grill using one of these mitts and the cast iron branded the leather and burned his hand immediately. So they may be good for regular grilling or the fireplace, I'm not sure, I just know that if you grill with cast iron or cook with cast iron...these are not for you.

These are nicely crafted gloves. They are excellent for dumping coals from a chimney starter and moving grates while the coals are simmering.



One word of caution though, as I learned from another reviewer. These gloves are not meant for sustained gripping of very hot items. Heat will penetrate the suede and padding eventually. Ouch!



Otherwise, I would recommend these gloves.

I use these gloves for handling my hot ovenware...they're much better than plain mitts -- the separate finger space permits much more dexterity!



I used these for all of my holiday baking, and now use them exclusively for all oven work. Fantastic product...

If you have a fireplace, you should really have a good pair of fireplace gloves. If you use them carefully, you barely need to have any other fireplace tools. There are others on the market, of course, but I find these particular gloves to be excellent performers and an excellent value for their price.

The gloves are working great. We supplement our heat with a wood burning insert in our fireplace so everday I am reaching in to a hot stove to load wood and also carrying wood from the woodpile. The gloves work great, keeping my hands from getting burned and also keeping splinters and dirt at bay. There is one strange thing about the gloves - on the cuff of each glove is embroidered the words "Grill Hepler". Evidently the Chinese forgot to use spell checker. LOL.

I bought these to use while using my outdoor wok. They're fine for preventing splatter burns and handling relatively hot wok handles. I don't know if I would use these for handling something really hot for more than a few seconds, but they are a good way to protect your hands and wrists from radiant heat.



Take a look again at the product picture. See the nice red logo that is stitched on the cuff? Well, it's actually pink. It was a pretty easy fix, though. Fellas, if you're looking to get some nice grill gloves for an afternoon of grilling with your buddies, I would recommend purchasing some Black Sharpies in addition to these gloves.

Used them on my weber grill, was able to stoke the coals from up close with a poker without feeling any heat on my hands and forarms. I later picked up to steel grill baskets and delivered them to the table with no issue as well (used silicon to handle them so I would not dirty these gloves).
