Imitation Security Camera

This unit is just what it says and while its all plastic it does seem real from a distance. The red LED stays on about 2 sec then off for 1 sec as long as there are 2 AA batteries. Note that you need to mount it in a place where the camera is 3-4" above the mounting bracket. Overall, a good product for the money. Outdoor Fake / Dummy Security Camera w/ Blinking Light (Silver)

I don't want to embarrass anyone I know by naming names, but several people who saw these thought that they were real. We installed it at the same time as a real security system , so ithat probably contributed to it's apparent authenticity. I have had the same batteries in for a few months now, and they have not quit yet, but it still looks real without the blinking light.

I expected a much bigger camera so it would be highly visible to thieves. This one is only about 8 inches long. However, it does look realistic and I proceeded to mount it within 5 minutes. From outside and 50 feet away, the blinking light looks effective and I think this dummy camera, when combined with a sign that the area is under video surveillance, will deter thieves. It takes two AAA batteries which are not included. You probably should mount it under a roof so it is never exposed to rain.
